In this episode, myself and the lovely Emma are joined by Cafe Milk Cafe Milk are a long-established breastfeeding support group, which have been running in Caterham, Horley and Redhill since 2007/8 (when was originally called Baby Cafe) Back in 2018/19, funding was lost when the children's centres closed. So a group of local mothers associated with the cafés decided to form a Community Interest Company to keep them running and the name was changed to Café Milk. In 2022, Cafe Milk applied to convert to a charity and this application was approved in 2023. They run three weekly drop-in cafés in Caterham, Horley and Redhill, running during school term times. Each session is two hours long and is supported by a qualified breastfeeding counsellor, a member of the health visiting team and trained peer supporters. During this episode both Aimee and Romi discuss how much the charity has helped local families and the valuable support it provides to parents and families every week. In this episode we are talking about methods you can use to 'naturally induce' labour. This is with a huge caviate which is, induction is induction. If your body has not going into labour by itself and you have choosen to use any form of intervention 'natural' or otherwise to encourage your body to go into labour before it starts naturally, this is still a form of induction and does come with risks. Please research fully and inform yourself and if at all possible we would always encourage you to wait for your body to go into labour naturally when it is ready.
The methods we discuss in this episode are all focused on just encouraging your natural body's hormones to push you into labour, these will only work if your body is close to going into labour anyway. However, we are mums, we have been sitting impatiently waiting to go into labour and know that regardless you are likely to be googling methods of naturally inducing labour so we might as well lay some ideas out for you.
