Charak Samhita is one of the most important texts in Ayurveda. It comes under the Brihat-trai or "The great three texts" in Ayurveda.
This lecture series brings you easy English interpretations of this classical Sanskrit text. Along with the interpretations, I would try to include my personal clinical experiences and available scientific evidence.
I sincerely hope that this series helps to dispel the cloud of numerous unverified home remedies, practiced and propagated in the name of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is made up of two words - Ayu and Veda. But do you know the Ayurvedic definition of Ayu (lifespan) or the significance of the word Veda? I am sharing my "Shishya Sutra" (my learning as a student) here. I hope that we all grow together in compassion and wisdom with Ayurveda.

Learn about the most imp. step of Ayurvedic treatment - NIDAN PARIVARJANAM, eliminating the cause of disease--Like wrong food, wrong lifestyle to the wrong mental state.
Namaste,
Do you know that preventing the cause is the first, fundamental, and indispensable Ayurvedic line of treatment; and not medicines? Without removal of the causal factors, even the best Ayurvedic medicines will give no better results than sugar pills.
In my early practice, I never saw any significant and long term benefit of ayurvedic treatment, just because I did not stress on Nidan parivarjanam. However, now I know that this single element is a complete treatment in itself. In this video, I am sharing my Shishya sutra (learning as a student) about the importance of Nidan Parivarjanam.

Learn why classical ayurvedic texts are as logical as mathematics.
Namaste,
Recently I read a comment online that Ginseng is not Ayurvedic as it is not described in any of the Ayurvedic text. Unfortunately, most of the people believe that Ayurvedic text is a compilation of some esoteric concepts, a long list of herbs, and some herbal formulations.
However, this notion is so far from the truth! Classical Ayurvedic text is more like Math textbooks. They are indicative in nature. The limited amount of herbs mentioned in ancient texts are just examples of herbal categories. All this classical text gives us rules to understand herbs, rules that are applicable in an incredibly wide variety of health situations. And once we understand how to absorb the basics of Ayurveda, we will discover an incredible yet reliable source of disease-free, youthful, and fruitful life!
I invite you to explore the true relevance of classical Ayurvedic texts!

Listen to this podcast if you regain weight in spite of all efforts!
According to Ayurveda, imbalance in mind results in severe unnatural urges, and stress eating is one of them. Unfortunately, because of an extremely stressed lifestyle, excessive eating has become a trend. Junk food and extremely sugary food like chocolates or candies might become addictive if you are not careful.
And this unnatural urge is the fundamental reason for most of the lifestyle disorders like diabetes, atherosclerosis, weight gain, and so on. But what is the causal factor behind these unnatural urges? it is not hunger for sure.
According to Ayurveda, there can be no permanent cure without eliminating the causal factors. So, let's look at the causal factor for stress eating in this podcast.
