51 | Seeking Professional Help for Our Mental Health is Not Weakness- with Special Guest Jonathan Kemp
Hi friend 🫶 Have you ever felt resistant to seeking professional help for your mental health or that it’s too late? My guest today, Jonathan Kemp, is a mental health advocate, entrepreneur, and creator of SmartWisdom- a scientifically validated note-taking technique. He was born into privilege as the future 3rd Viscount of Rochdale. He knew something wasn’t right since he was about 7 years old and struggled for years trying everything he could on his own to feel better. He was diagnosed at age 39 with bipolar disorder, depression, and dyslexia. He had been unaware of how these mental health challenges had been shaping his life until he finally sought professional help.  His memoir, Finding Peace of Mind: An Inspirational Journey through Bipolar, Depression, Addiction, and Dyslexia is releasing today, October 10, 2025.  In it he reveals how privilege and outward success offered no protection from the quiet devastation of undiagnosed mental illness and how he ultimately fought to build his sense of purpose and mental clarity.  If you’ve ever felt resistant to seeking professional help or that it’s too late, this episode is for you. 42 | “Are You OK?”- Spring, Suicide Awareness, & the Importance of Checking In
Welcome to Self-Care for Mental Health 🌊 I'm so glad you are here! 🫶 *Disclaimer: There is mention of suicide in this episode. Please take precautions while listening and seek out support if needed. Hi friend, Do you find yourself dreading the “How are you” question? 🙋🏻‍♀️ For me it can often feel like there is pressure and an expectation to say “I’m good” or “I’m fine”, even though that may not be the case. 🫤 The season of Spring can be one of the hardest times for those of us who struggle with our mental health and wellness. ❤️‍🩹 Contrary to what society makes it out to be, the highest rates of suicide around the world happen in the Spring not Winter. 💔 In today’s episode, I will be sharing about the importance of self-reflection, checking in with ourselves and those around us, and growing in awareness of how we are seasonally affected so we can move towards connection and what nourishes us, instead of isolation. 41 | Stigma Got You Down? Learn How You Can Be Part of a Safe Community
Welcome to Self-Care for Mental Health 🌊 I'm so glad you are here! 🫶 Hi friend, Do you find yourself having thoughts like… “There must be something wrong with me.” “I’ll never be enough.” “I feel so different. So other.” When you have a thought like this, do you share it with a trusted someone or do you tend to hide what you are thinking and how it is making you feel? What if I told you there is nothing wrong with you, that you are enough right now wherever you are, and feeling different or other is actually a sign that you are being authentic? This is just an example of what a safe community can be for our mental health. A loving peer can offer a different perspective than how the thoughts sound in our head. Moving out of isolation and into a safe community silences the stigma that keeps us disconnected. 33 | Positive Self-Talk For Our Mental Health & Wellness- With Special Guest Jay Pyfer
Welcome to Living Table! 🌊 I'm so glad you are here! 🫶   Hi friend, Do you struggle with negative self talk? Is there a bully in your head constantly putting you down?  Our brains are like a program that can get stuck in a loop but the good news is we can reprogram our brains by taking action with positive self talk to silence the inner critic. Today’s episode is a conversation I had with my big brother recently where we dive into some of our wellness tools, what does and doesn’t work for us when it comes to our mental health and wellness, and how we respond to negative self-talk.   Listen in. Your presence matters here. <3 With you, Amy 📣 BIG shout out and THANK YOU to jayquesobe for the use of his songs OPST and Loosen Up in today's episode. So much love bro! 😎🫶 https://open.spotify.com/artist/6SqXEYKeMgddEPfBBm0lmV?si=JcKBAWi-RNeXA50Nb5cCXg 👉 Next Steps: > Need support for your mental health & wellness?
