He suggests starting with enhancing their self esteem, allowing them the chance to open up to receiving knowledge , and then, discarding some of the technology which has become main distractors. He says, children who are over stimulated find it difficult to sit quietly with a book. We would like to thank Alan Clark for lending his voice to the mission and vision of Peaches and Sourcream Children’s Foundation, Inc.

Mr. Henderson gives (one) male’s perspective about why reading for African American boys may be challenging. The number one cause is the lack of interest. They lack interest in reading because they don’t see themselves enough and not in a positive light—something everyone needs to pique their interest, which might lead to the JOY of reading. We thank Mr. Keith for lending his voice for the mission and vision of Peaches and Sourcream Children’s Foundation.
