This week's guest is guitarist and songwriter Kyle Lalone! I have known Kyle for many years and it was great to be able to have a conversation this candid and honest on the show. We both spent years living in New York City before moving to LA, and both went through serious struggles before coming into recovery. We reminisce about old times, talk about the what's going on in the current day, and even play one of Kyle's original songs together in the studio. Great talk!Pardon the delay on this episode- producer Adrian and I have been on tour for the last 3 weeks and we didn't think it would be this hectic to try and edit and upload full episodes of the pod every week. The goal is to resume a weekly Monday schedule after this week, so keep your eyes peeled. And as always, thanks for tuning in and please don't hesitate to reach out for any questions or comments to onelegpod@gmail.com

This week we have the privilege of talking to Paul Cherry! Aside from being (slightly) intimidated by his coolness, we had such a great candid conversation about everything from music to drugs to aging to vibes and energy. I had a lot of questions for Paul on how he got started as a DJ and producer, how he got started with his sick livestream shows, what makes him happy and what he has in store for the future. Plus the debut of our brand new segment, NAME THAT PAUL!
This week's episode of One Leg is a wild ride! Old friend and bandmate Cole Riddle drops in and we were lucky enough to have Zephyr Avalon in the building. We talk everything from touring with the Brooks Nielsen band, staying healthy on the road and in life, and get into some nonsense like Zephyr's moonlighting career as a Yelp reviewer. Fresh from a worldwide tour with Adrian Younge, we talk about being a young saxophonist in LA and navigating the scene, plus the challenges of being the sole member of her family in from overseas and so much more. I love Alicia's artistic take on blending Flamenco with Jazz music and we discuss viral success and the validity of short form content over musical output and self expression. What a treat to get to sit down with someone so young and talented- Eric's been a hustler ever since I've known him and it was great to sit down and hear his story. We caught him on a break from his tours with Thee Sinceers and Thee Altons, learned about his background getting into the organ and the influence of classic rock like Santana and Toto, and how to sustain passion for learning and experiencing new music while deep in the trenches. In addition to his several long standing residencies in Los Angeles and his BoneFX project, Quinn has worked to study and preserve the history of his Native American musical roots, and is also currently producing Julia Keefe’s Native American big band album. With everything that he has going on, it was great to get to sit and ask him about how he juggles so many different projects and what gets him through tough stretches. This week we sit down with the truly multi talented instrumentalist Alex Williams! From his musical beginnings to his current track as a professor at Musicians Institute, we talk about preparing for gigs, practicing improvisation and developing the music to mind connection, and more. Alex candidly spoke on the role that faith holds in his life, which I always find fascinating to hear how belief can help guide people through strenuous times. And we learn that Alex prefers unfrosted pop tarts! Who would have thought.

Tina has been a fixture of the Los Angeles music scene since I’ve known her, and we always have a great time hanging out and catching up. What a ride the last few months have been! I wanted to look back at all the great things I've gotten to experience by talking to people on One Leg, and how grateful I am for what I've learned so far. I also want to talk a bit about what it means to be in 'recovery' and how ultimately, my primary objective is to help people gather tools for themselves based on the wisdom of folks who work really hard and are willing to share their experience.
Season two of the show will begin streaming in May. I want to take time to do an overhaul of the production vallue based on what I've learned doing this guerilla-style of podcasting on location and working with minimal tools. I'm really excited for what's to come and can't wait to share with you. So as always, thank you for watching and see you soon!
