Three months after her North Coast 500 attempt, Sara Eydmann reflects on what happens after a big goal doesn’t go to plan. She shares honestly about the post-event dip, losing her spark with running, and the challenges of rebuilding while living with AuDHD.
In this episode, Sara explores:
The emotional aftermath of missing a huge goal
Returning to running when it no longer feels like her
Filling the gap with new projects, from her business to launching a run club
Why her mantra has become: trust the process, don’t fear the outcome
This is an episode for anyone who has faced the “what now?” after chasing something big, and is learning to keep moving forward in the messy middle.
In this deeply personal episode, I share the story of the day my challenge came to an unexpected end. It’s a raw reflection on pain, pride, and the internal battles that unfold when things don’t go to plan. I open up about the physical and emotional toll of endurance, the moment I had to let go, and the strength it takes to stop.
This isn’t the story I wanted to tell, but it’s one I needed to.
If you’ve ever wrestled with the weight of your own expectations, this one’s for you.
Sara talks about the strong start to day 3, which quickly became a day of mental and physical battles. An honest account of the challenges that come with ultra running and autism.

Kicking off my attempt to run the entire North Coast 500, Day 1 starts long before sunrise with very little sleep, a lot of rain, and some stunning sights. I talk through the early nerves, the plan (and loo schedule), settling into the 26:4 rhythm, and how special Bealach Na’ Bà is to me . Expect wind, sheep-related distractions, and a day that went nearly all to plan.
In this episode, Sara answers questions from Instagram about her recent adventure attempting to run the North Coast 500. She shares insights, challenges, and reflections from the journey along one of Scotland’s most iconic routes.

A chatty one about what I am attempting and some of the reasons I am attempting to run this 516mile route in under 6 days.
In this episode, I delve into my sporting background. It is a question I get a lot so I talk through my background and how I got to be where I am.
It is a very normal story about a completely average person that 'done' sport but wasn't anytime 'special'.
I hope this reminds you that it is never too late to start and not be confirm to society's expectation of what you should/shouldn't have done in order to dream.

In this episode we discuss how easy it is to get caught up in other peoples experiences and the importance of being in your own experiences. Focusing on your own training plan and meeting yourself where you are rather than what others are doing on strava. Why I have come of strava for the moment and the social media break I took whilst being unwell.
Let yourself unfilter your mind, even if it is only for you.

As usual, there is a bit of brain chaos in this podcast (I promise I do plan them out). January diet talk makes an appearance but from a different perspective, questioning how you engage with it. And the topic of acceptance, the benefits and how to navigate things outside your control.

In this episode, I discuss vulnerability and strength in the context of sharing thoughts, feelings and emotions not only with others but within our own self-concepts. I invite you to question your own thoughts and preconceived notions of vulnerability and strength.

A little bit about me and the hopes I have for the podcast.
In this episode I talk about my quick prep for an ultramarathon at the weekend and explore some of my thought processes towards an upcoming project.
This week, I spent time thinking about my relationship with failure and the general messages from society that create fear around failure.
Something to explore further in a future podcast but a little ramble for the week to get kick started.
