Marriage Stories is a podcast about the riskiest two words a person can say when they love someone, “I Do”. People everywhere around the world have been getting married for the past 4000 years. This ancient institution has inspired some of our greatest art, started and ended wars, and remains a centerpiece of human civilization. And yet, we don’t have a universal formula for wedded bliss, there is not a linear path that a Marriage takes. There are seasons of drudgery, monotony, and even boredom. There are also seasons of joy, the kind that stops you in your tracks as if to say, this, this is what life is all about. Then there is grief, loss, and devastation. The kind that can only come when you love someone enough to risk it all. But ultimately, there is the triumph of two humans deciding to make a marriage work in spite of it all. Every couple has to write their own story and make their own sense of this immense journey. This podcast is all about these stories. Listen in as Marriage Therapist Trevor White sits down with a diverse group of real couples across the lifecycle that are making their marriages work, each in their own unique way. Join us every week as we hear real people talk about Love, Marriage, and the stories that we live to tell.

Marriage Stories
When a Republican Loves a Democrat with Wes and Jessica
Today’s episode dives into a story that feels especially relevant in our polarized political world. Our guests are a couple who navigate their marriage with differing political beliefs—one is a Democrat, the other a Republican. In a time when singles often filter by political party on dating apps and many wouldn’t consider moving to a “blue” or “red” state, this couple has chosen to bridge their differences within the intimacy of their partnership—and with great success. From the Obama years to today, they’ve found a way to make their differences a strength. How do they navigate conversations about issues that are deeply personal and, at times, divisive? What keeps their bond strong even when their worldviews clash? And how do they maintain respect, empathy, and love in moments of disagreement? Find out today on Marriage Stories! Open Relationship with Keith and Gwen
Open Relationships, what comes to mind when you hear this term? Depending on your background, understanding of the concept, beliefs, and experience I would imagine a wide range of ideas come up. Non-monogamy has been practiced since the invention of monogamy. However it is normally done in secret and as a betrayal of the trust in a relationship. In recent years, increasing numbers of couples are attempting to experience the benefits of having other romantic connections while still in a loving and trusting relationship. But can this really be done?    Download, listen, leave a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review, and subscribe! Starting your own Marriage Story? Modern Arranged Marriage with Madhu and Pranav
The concept of Arranged marriage has been around as long as…marriage.  One’s family was significantly involved in the marriage decision for most of the 4000 year history of the decision.  The practice of arranged marriage has significantly evolved, like marriage itself, to prioritize compatibility and love.  Much of the world still misunderstands the idea and is burdened by outdated misconceptions about the practice. Our couple today is a great example of how this process of finding love can be very rich and rewarding. Download, listen, share & subscribe! Starting your own Marriage Story? Recovering from Infidelity with Lauren and Harrison
Join us as Harrison and Lauren share their Marriage Story.  When folks think of the things that may end their marriage, Infidelity is high on the list.  “Once a cheater, Always a Cheater” or “How could you ever trust someone again” they say.  But as we all know, “they” are rarely right.  The reality of the experience of infidelity is much more nuanced and complicated.  The devastation, the recovery, the re-devastation, the re-recovery, the rebuilding of trust, and ultimately the path to forgiveness.  The depths that couples that go through this can reach are amazing, they end up having one Hell of a Marriage.
