Ok. Ok. We know this sounds realllllllly depressing, but it's not. It's encouraging and uplifting. I mean, we still know how to laugh and we still do it pretty often, so don't trip.
In this episode, we talked with Dr. Brandon Hart of Legacy Health Chiropractic about why he went into chiropractic care, transitioning from Atlanta to Huntsville, and the fear that comes along with opening a new business. He tells us about how he and his wife, Rashida, work through challenges and obstacles together and how they keep the lines of communication open.
It was dope. All that. Check it out. Make sure you stay and listen for our "What did I learn from Netflix" segment. Somebody help me find a friend like Martin Scorsese.

Good Question. Maybe you can help us figure this out. We talked about the difference between recent women rappers and the ones from "back in our day". Is there a difference? Is Lei a prude? Are we just old now?
I guess we'll find out. What else?? Uh, Netflix watches, our upcoming interview with our City Council President, Devyn Keith, and what news anchor personality we are.
And if you're not a Megan Thee Stallion fan either, some other dope women rappers that we love.
Thanks for listening, hit us up on social, and keep an eye out for our next group therapy.
Unless something magical happens, this is our VERY LAST Black Girl Magic interview! We have enjoyed this so much and we've made so many new friends that are now family! There is no way to express the amount of gratitude we feel to everyone that sat down with us and shared. It was something that will stay with us forever. Last but not least...
For our last interview, we have International Model, Author, CEO of KeLaChe' Ventures, and during the day, NASA employee, Kerri Davis. She came and shared a story with us that is very personal. In this interview, we discussed relationship red flags. We started with first dates, what are the red flags and what's just "annoying". How do you determine if the other person gets date #2? Then we took it a step further and got into the football analogies. What about the guy that does everything right and gets through your first line of defense? What does that relationship look like? Kerri was very open with her story and we hope it will help someone else that may be in the same situation.
Now, for the fun stuff! Kerri's experience motivated her to become an Advocate for Domestic Violence Survivors. Every year she puts on a fundraiser for Crisis Services of North Alabama. This year that fundraiser is the Indigo Ambiance Fantastic Dreams Lingerie Fashion Show. She gives us all the info about what to expect, tickets, and this VIP situation! If you check out our FB or Instagram you'll even see an opportunity for you to win a couple of these tickets! A big THANK YOU to Sultry Boutique for sponsoring all the lingerie for this epic night of fashion! Links below for more info.

You know the rest! Lizzo's VMA performance was a moment of pure magic. It meant more to us than we could have ever imagined. We even realized some things about ourselves that we didn't know. There were some demons hiding that reared their ugly heads, but thanks to LIzzo, we're learning to put them back in their place. Since we didn't have a guest this week, we did some Hot Topics and it got HOT. But, back to the good stuff. We just wanna say: Lizzo if you hear this, you're always welcome on Let Me Tell You Something!
Enjoy and thanks for listening!
We talked all the things that make us happy and just make our spirits feel joyful. We were being hella silly, making hella jokes and practiced some new laughs. We got some feel good stories and some songs. Lei's birthday story is pretty hilarious! You'll even get to hear our "It's Officially Summer Song" It's the beeeeeeessssstttt!
We don't have much to say about this one except, WE HOPE IT MAKES YOU FEEL JOYFUL!
So, yeah...I mean NBD or anything, but we did get asked to record and interview at the 5 Points Blok Party. It was at Lowe Mill and it was DOPE! Our friend, Kisha Freed, was there with Word-Xpress (Spelled it right this time, Kisha). If you haven't listened to her interview, go back and check it out. Shout out to Rick & Angela Bradshaw who put together this amazing festival. Thanks for the invite!! Now to the interviews:

Our fourth and final interview starts at 57:08 with Mizzle Money and Rayed R, two local rappers that doing major things all over the area. We love the show Grown-ish and after Carly attended a workshop last week for Gen Z(THANK YOU, ERIN!), she came back with a question that came up: How do you know when you're grown? There is a differing of opinions on this one; Lei thinks it's once you can pay your own bills, Carly thinks it's that and life experience, and Mo didn't really have an opinion. While we may have differing opinions on what it means, there are some things we can agree on...like the fact that if someone had told us some of these things our journey to grown would've have probably been a lot easier.
We cover some hot topics like "Lion King" (RAWR), dodgeball, and VOTING!! Enjoy and let us know on Insta or Facebook the pieces of advice that have or are helping you get GROWN!
We hope this helps our Gen Z'ers and anyone else that may need it. We're giving you 30+ pieces of advice on Self, Relationships, and Career. Quite a few of these we've had to learn the hard way. Remember to FOCUS!
Welcome to Part 2 of our interview with Leah Karin, Da Hood Doula! This episode is titled: "GET YO TRIBE!"
We’ve said this before on this show when asking someone to come collect their people from acting a fool, but today we mean it in a different way. This episode is about how to find your tribe. Most of our listeners are well into adulthood, which means they understand the struggle of finding and maintaining solid friendships. The struggle is real for introverts dressed up as extroverts. And today, our guest of honor, is going to help us send out the right energy to connect with the right people.
Leah Karin is a health enthusiast. And, just like many things in her life, she approaches healthcare from an "outside of the box" practice. Combining her training as a doula and personal trainer with being a mental health advocate and mentor, Karin assists clients on their journey to finding their own spiritual, mental, and physical breakthroughs. She brings a warm energy to every room enters through her vulnerability, honesty, and personal testimony. Leah Karin has successfully found a way to brand her "sunshine" energy, thus creating a people-centered business built on positivity and providing overwhelming support.
This Huntsville native, by way of Chicago, is a sage-smudgin, sister circle lovin', eclectic creative womb warrior with a giant smile, colorful bouquet of flowers growing out of her mind, and an open heart. Leah Karin also wants it to be known that her most precious assignment yet is being responsible for raising two beautiful daughters (currently 10 and 22 months) into two beautiful women who will love themselves wholly.

In this episode, Leah sits down with us to discuss what a Doula is, the importance of Doula's in the African American community, and her fitness journey. She is an honest and open spirit with an enormous amount of passion behind everything she does and she lets nothing stop her. She said she was honored, but we are the ones who feel truly honored to have been in her presence.
We decided to split this one into 2 episodes, because her story is such a great one that we had to reserve an hour just for that! So, we hope you enjoy Part 1 of this 2 part episode and if you'd like more information of Leah, you can find her at the links below:

Happy Independence Day! And, just in time for the 4th, we had Dr. Aisha Fields, International Director of AAPDEP and Co-Owner of Zenzele Consignment, come to the podcast and talk about FREEDOM. So perfect, right? But, our talk was about the freedom of African People. Are we free? How will we know when we're free, and what does that freedom look like? Lei & Mo figured out what her role would be within the organization, but Carly's still deciding. This was such an informative conversation and Dr. Fields is doing AMAZING things for the community! She reminded us of our connection to the Africa and made us grateful to just be in her presence. We hope you enjoy this one, because we loved every second of recording it.
Dr. Aisha Fields is an applied optical physicist and International Director of the All African People’s Development & Empowerment Project (AAPDEP).
With membership and branches in West Africa and the United States, Aisha has helped to organize and coordinate AAPDEP’s community-based health care, agricultural and educational programs since the organization’s founding in 2007.
Aisha helped to lead the charge to build Zenzele Consignment, AAPDEP’s first economic institution and fundraiser for its programs, currently serving as the store’s Manager and Director of Sales.
An educator with more than 15 years of teaching experience, Aisha has worked extensively with African youth who have been pushed out of the public schools, teaching them math, science and life skills.
Leading by example, Aisha believes firmly that as African people our skills do not belong to us as individuals, rather they belong to and must be used for the benefit of the suffering masses of African people around the world in our struggle for African freedom and self-determination.

DISCLAIMER: WE ARE DISCUSSING SEX, IT'S VERY SHORT (GOES FROM 51:30-58:30) IF IT MAKES YOU AS UNCOMFORTABLE AS IT MAKES LEI, BY ALL MEANS, SKIP OVER THAT PART!
Now, for the real stuff:
Hot Topic this week: BUT, DID YOU DIE THO? or "What the heck is going on in the Dominican Republic?"
In this episode, we discuss Self-Awareness. In other words, Check ya self before you wreck ya self. In other words, "Am I Trippin?". We talk about what it means to each of us and some of our triggers. How self-awareness affects all our relationships and what happens when we're not self-aware. How to know if you're the janky friend with NO self-awareness and how to get some. Cause, guess what? You don't have to be a trash friend forever! We end with giving you some tips about how to become more self-aware and lighten that load.
Come see us on July 10th @ 6pm at CoWorking Night, where we'll be having a round table discussion, also know as Group Therapy, on Self-Awareness. And we'll have stickers!
Thanks for listening and hit us up on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter!
This one is longer than normal, but, we PROMISE it is so worth it! While Lei's been to see Chef Adyre plenty of times, this is Carly & Mo's first time enjoying any of The Veggie's offerings! She brought muffins that Mo couldn't stop eating...haha. But, we can now officially say that we are ALL obsessed!
Chef Adyre discusses the catalyst that pushed her to start living a healthier lifestyle and journey into entrepreneurship. She has a great story that you'll want to hear and she drops so many gems that will help anyone interested in becoming an entrepreneur, determine whether or not it's the right move for them. And of course, we had fun! We tried to guess her sign, she told us her favorite music to cook to and the weird show she loves on Netflix.
We hope you enjoy it and let us know on Facebook or Instagram some of your favorite Netflix shows!
Make sure you follow Chef Adyre and Eat the Veggie on Facebook and Instagram!

Chef Adyre is a University of Alabama-Huntsville and George Washington University alum who decided to trade in her job as a Systems Engineer for a chef’s coat. When her mother passed away in early 2017, she decided to take the leap to fulfill their shared dream of entering the food industry. She honors her mother’s classic dishes by transforming them into modern vegan fare and using her diverse palette to create original dishes of her own. Chef Adyre began her journey to vegan in 2014 and over the next year and a half, she transitioned carefully to pescatarian, then vegetarian, and finally vegan. She believes in the power of healthy eating and most importantly, being an informed consumer.
Her ultimate dream? To cook for Beyoncé.
"It used to be called a reputation, now it's called a brand" - Carly
Everyone has a brand, right? Whether it's intentional or not, there are things that people associate with each of us. The question we ask in this episode is, "What do you think your brand is and how do you make sure that's what people are getting?" We talk about each of our brands and how many times throughout our lives we've "rebranded".
We also talk about how busy our weeks have been and a little about Carly's vacation! We hope you follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram and got a chance to peep our new logo! We're obsessed and it was created by 1/3 of this podcast, Lei! Isn't she talented y'all! If you haven't already, like our Facebook, Instagram, and please rate us on whatever platform you listen to us on! If you listened to our episode, you know at least two of us want ALL the feedback (haha)! We ready!
On the next episode we talk about marriage and what Carly's dream marriage looks like (it's definitely unconvential)! Until next time!
First and foremost, we have to introduce our new co-host: Ms. Monique Gaines! She's been added to the group as our third. We are now a throuple! We've agreed that there isn't a Beyonce in the group either. We've changed our format a little with our new addition and we now have a Hot Topics segment. In this episode, we discuss the abortion ban and Taco Bell's new RESORT!! Say what?!
Now, as you know, we are avid Netflix watchers and this episode was inspired by Wine Country on Netflix. Carly had also gone to a workshop on Feedback, so it seemed that this topic was meant to be! We loved the idea of asking someone if we can offer them feedback instead of giving them unsolicited advice. No harm, no foul! They are definitely allowed to say no. So, we discuss all the different types of feedback (positive, negative, indifferent) the different relationships (significant others, parents, children, friends) and how each of us feels about it.
Lei has even offered to fix your lives (if you need it) with just 3-4 easy steps! You can email her at Lei@letmetellyoupodcast.com. If you want to talk to Carly or Monique, send us a message at the emails below or hit us up on social media!

We had a crazy busy weekend in Selma last weekend and we were TIRED, but we definitely wanted to tell you guys all about it. Apparently, we definitely look like we're not from Selma and we sprinkled our #blackgirlmagic all over that place!! This weekend was spent recovering and resting (our Self-Care).
SELF-CARE! SELF-CARE! SELF-CARE! We hear it everywhere and we can all agree that it's necessary, right? Well, the thing we're concerned about not hearing is balance. Self-care has the potential to become self-ish, so how do we know when that's happening and how can we stop it? We talk about the different types of self-care and spend a little extra time on some of them. We couldn't get to all of them (sad face), but we did get to some important ones. Link below for all 8 types of self-care and what they mean.
