海の女であり、夜の女でもあり、アメジョでもあるAikaさん。Aikaさんがアメジョになったきっかけと、そもそもアメジョって何？ってことから戦後から現代までの言葉の印象や実際どうなのってところをお話しました。
Amejo アメジョ(アメ女)：
“Amejo” is a Japanese derogatory term referring to young Okinawan women who date male members of the United States Forces stationed in Okinawa Prefecture. The latter part of the word means “woman” or “girl.” — Wikipedia
Although the term is often described with negative connotations, many women today use it in a more positive, self-affirming way.
It’s said that “Amejo” doesn’t just come from America + jo (woman), but can also refer to the Okinawan dialect expression America-joogu — meaning “someone who likes Americans.”
「アメジョ」とは、日本の沖縄県に駐留する在日米軍の男性と交際する沖縄の若い女性を指す日本語の蔑称です。この言葉のもう一方の構成要素は「女性」または「女の子」という意味を持っています。— Wikipedia より —
この言葉はしばしば否定的な意味合いで語られますが、現代ではむしろ自分らしさを肯定するポジティブな意味で使う女性も多くいます。
「アメリカ＋女=アメジョ」だけでなく、沖縄の方言で言う「アメリカ〜じょーぐー(アメリカ人好き)」を意味していると聞くこともあります。

On the 20th, U.S. President Trump issued an executive order stating that the federal government would recognize only two genders, male and female and that changes would not be allowed.
The order mandates the use of the term "sex" (biological distinction) instead of "gender" (social and cultural distinction) in government documentation. Additionally, it requires that government-issued identification, such as passports, be based on an "unchangeable biological classification of an individual as male or female.

Professor Toru Yoshikawa from Tohoku University has made a shocking prediction that if the declining birthrate continues, Japan will have only one child born in 696 years. His research suggests that if Japan's birthrate remains at its current level (around 1.26), the number of children will continue to decline, eventually leading to their disappearance.

The first trial for a soldier stationed at the U.S. Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, accused of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 16, was held on July 12 at the Naha District Court.
