On the 20th, U.S. President Trump issued an executive order stating that the federal government would recognize only two genders, male and female and that changes would not be allowed.

The order mandates the use of the term "sex" (biological distinction) instead of "gender" (social and cultural distinction) in government documentation. Additionally, it requires that government-issued identification, such as passports, be based on an "unchangeable biological classification of an individual as male or female.

トランプ米大統領は20日、連邦政府が男性と女性の２つの性別のみを認め、変更はできないとする大統領令を出した。

「ジェンダー（社会・文化的性差）」ではなく「セックス（生物学的性差）」という用語を使用することを政府に命じるとともに、パスポートなど政府発行の身分証明書について「男性または女性という個人の変更不可能な生物学的分類」に基づくことを義務付けた。
