Welcome to Season 2 of Career Congregation – this is episode 26!
Career Congregation is a weekly gathering for career inspiration, real stories, and honest conversations about work, purpose, and growth. Hosted by Therapist and Coach, Meghan Fitzpatrick, the podcast helps people reconnect with what feels most authentic to them on their career path, and find ways to do work they genuinely want to do.
In this opening episode of Season 2, Meghan returns after a break to share what’s been happening for her behind the scenes. Now based in Ireland, she reflects on starting over (again), setting up her private practice and creative base in a new country, and the surprising ways Career Congregation has grown since its launch earlier in 2025.
This episode sets the tone for a new season of conversations with inspiring guests who’ve challenged expectations, taken risks, and found fulfilment in their chosen life and career paths by following what feels right for them—both in life and work.

Career Congregation is your weekly gathering for all things career — a space to explore the highs, the lows, and the incredible stories of people who’ve navigated challenges, stepped through fear, and found growth on the other side. Hosted by therapist and coach Meghan Fitzpatrick, each episode offers real-life inspiration for reclaiming confidence and direction in your work and life.
In this week’s episode, Meghan is joined by Vanessa Jane, a qualified Counsellor, Advanced MACE Practitioner, and International Trainer based in Australia. Vanessa shares her remarkable journey from hospitality and travel to counselling, personal development, and ultimately discovering the transformative power of the MACE Energy Method — a modality that helps people release deep emotional pain and long-held patterns at their root cause.
The conversation explores Vanessa’s own experiences of depression, loss, and resilience, and how MACE became the turning point that helped her rebuild her life after multiple rock bottoms. Meghan and Vanessa discuss the limitations of traditional talk therapy, the science and philosophy behind MACE, and how removing emotional “charges” allows people to return to their natural state of peace, confidence, and joy.
Vanessa also shares powerful client transformations, from overcoming anxiety and PTSD to releasing lifelong trauma and rediscovering a sense of self. Together, they reflect on the importance of self-compassion, emotional regulation, and learning tools that support real, lasting change.
This episode is an inspiring exploration of healing, empowerment, and the freedom that comes from reclaiming who you truly are.

Hosted by therapist and coach Meghan Fitzpatrick, each episode offers real-life inspiration for reclaiming confidence and direction in your work.
In this week’s episode, Meghan is joined by her friend Nathaniel Chin, also known as The Philosopher’s Poet. Nathaniel shares his journey from growing up in South London to building a career in transport planning and consultancy, where he now leads rail consulting projects in Ireland. His path was far from linear — with early setbacks at university, periods of uncertainty, and the challenges of imposter syndrome. Yet through resilience and openness to growth, he found professional success and a meaningful role shaping infrastructure for the future.
Alongside his career, Nathaniel has cultivated a powerful creative practice through writing and poetry. He talks about how The Philosopher’s Poet was born out of personal transformation, identity shifts, and the need for an outlet beyond work. Writing became both therapy and a way to explore philosophy, spirituality, and human connection. The conversation dives into themes of non-attachment, journalling, shadow work, and the importance of nurturing all sides of ourselves and not relying solely on career for fulfilment.
Nathaniel also reflects on mentorship, personal growth, and the lessons he would share with his younger self about resilience, timing, and trusting the journey. His story is an inspiring reminder that careers don’t always follow a straight path and that creative expression can be just as vital as professional success in building an authentic, fulfilling life.

In this special solo episode, Meghan reflects on the recent loss of her friend and fellow therapist, Anna. Recorded the day after Anna’s funeral, this heartfelt tribute honours a woman who embodied courage, integrity, and boldness in both life and career.
Anna began training as a therapist later in life, and just weeks into the course, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, something that might have caused many to step away, but not Anna. She committed fully to the work, determined to pursue the career she felt called to. Meghan recounts their time training together, Anna’s no-nonsense honesty, her deep support for others, and the powerful legacy she leaves behind.
