Vivek Strikes Again!
Anjali Ranadive, Vivek Ranadive's daughter has been hired as an assistant general manager of the Stockton Kings, the Sacramento Kings' G-League affiliate. You'd imagine that we were spicy and jealous, but rather we are concerned that the basketball people can't do basketball things. Best of luck to you, Anjali. We're rooting for you, if only because we can't do anything else.
Then we talk Shaedon Sharpe, Jaden Ivey, and trading the 4th pick in the 2022 NBA draft currently owned by the Sacramento Kings. What would we do? It's complicated.
Bevs on Tap
Alvin Holbrook - Dr. Pepper - 23 flavors might be marketing but it feels like a step up over a Coca-Cola.

What do the Kings need? They need to win. We're tired. The Bev Boys Basketball Broadcast, joined once again today by the lovely Kevin Burdick, formerly of the Sacramento Kings, break down what we feel the Kings need in a coach, players, and even in mindset. A great idea to listen to amongst coaching searches in Sacramento, the Los Angeles Lakers, and Charlotte Hornets In the NBA, nothing is for sure, but I guess the Kings basketball team being a "poverty franchise" keeps on going.
No bevs on tap. We promise we'll have some next time!
Why are the Sacramento Kings the laughingstock of the NBA? Why does every 14-year-old Twitter user call the Kings a ‘poverty franchise?’ And ultimately why has this lamentable franchise missed the playoffs for 16 consecutive years? We break down our three reasons why and if our one change in decision making would’ve broken the streak.
Featuring guest Kevin Burdick, noted Kings fan and former employee. We aren’t Glassdoor but it is fun nonetheless.
Bevs on tap -
Tyler - Celsius Sugar-Free - no corn syrup is real nice. Not too fizzy, just the right carbonation. Bang is too much. Thumbs
Nick - Sugar-Free Red Bull - forever tied to asap ferg. The BBBB best Red Bull flavor.
Kevin - California Gold Rush - whisky with honey. Brings out a little bit more of a nice day-drinking vibe. Not really about energy drinks
Alvin - San Pellegrino Essenza Tangerine and Wild Strawberry - The can has great hand feel. Leveled up La Croix, great for impressing guests, but it tastes good too!

What a trade szn! Woj bombs galore and the Sacramento Kings were active. After the bevs, we get into the biggest winners and losers of the NBA trade season including the Lakers, Nets, Trailblazers, and Spencer Dinwiddie (4:49). Next, we get into the trades the Sacramento Kings made with a brief scouting profile on Domantas Sabonis, Justin Holiday, Donte DiVincenzo, Trey Lyles, and more, and how they might affect team play (32:49).
Finally, we dive into how we processed our feelings after hearing our boy Tyrese Haliburon was traded, potential expectation adjustments for the team, and what we saw from game one of the Fox and the Ox playing together. This is either going to be a fun season or going to set us up for disappointment. Cautious optimism is key here.
Bevs on Tap
Nick - Celcius - Watermelon: a tried and true classic that offers a great hit of energy. Highly recommended if you need an energy drink without the taste of other energy drinks.
Alvin - Gatorade Frost Glacier Cherry: why anyone makes anything cherry flavored is beyond us. Who is keeping Glacier Cherry afloat? We demand answers!
Tyler - bev-free

We play armchair gm and fix the Sacramento Kings again, talk impending doom, Russia announcing Ukrainian invasion on Tiktok, and more.
We also remind you all that we broke the news that Tristian Thompson is retiring from NBA basketball at the end of this season. Just a heads up.
No bevs because we forgot. Alvin drank some Glacier Cherry Frost Gatorade during the pod though, and it was what he would call "delicious to the taste." That's a joke for those in the know.
Subscribe, subscribe, and subscribe some more! Thanks, y'all.
Tristan Thompson is the father, but also apparently he's retiring after this year? Wild. Then we grieve a bit about being Sacramento Kings basketball fans before talking about the differences between the Luke Walton-led Kings and the Alvin Gentry-led Kings. Believe it or not, the results might surprise you a bit.
Bevs on tap:
Alvin - Sac Sac orange juice with pulp: It's Sunny D just with pulp from a tangerine. Lots of sugar. 7/10.
Nick & Tyler: It's cold in NYC. No bevs.

We fix the Sacramento Kings once and for all, discuss trades that either improve or blow up the Portland Trailblazers, and more about the incongruous Indiana Pacers. If you like talk about small market NBA teams then you'll be on the edge of your seat for this latest episode of the Bev Boys Basketball Broadcast.
Tyler - stolen Coca Cola (glass bottle version): tasty. More of a joke, but would do it again.
Alvin - Jarritos Tamarind Flavor - sweet but not in an obtuse way. Has a little bit of sourness that warms my Filipino soul.
Nick - ramen. Dude had a long night.

November 21st, 2021 will be forever known as the day Puke Walton got fired. Alvin Gentry has been named the interim head coach of the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. Go Kings.
The Sacramento Kings promoted associate head coach Alvin Gentry to interim head coach after firing coach Luke Walton on Sunday, the team announced.
"After a thorough evaluation of the season thus far, I decided to make a change to the head coach position," Kings general manager Monte McNair said in a statement. "I want to thank Luke for his efforts and contributions to our team."
No bevs, it’s an emergency. Just lots of bittersweet emotions.
Something something definition of madness same thing over and expecting a different result something something. That is the life of the Sacramento Kings fan, we reckon. We talk madness like the Marvin Bagley Situation, if a shakeup is necessary, and if so, how much of one can the Kings afford? Of course, we talk Alvin's favorite players: Nikola Jokic and Ricky Rubio.
Bevs on tap:
Alvin - Tropicana Original Orange Juice - I would never drink this on its own due to its mealy aftertaste. No extra sugar is nice though.
Nick - Sugar-Free Red Bull - the oracle of Harlem, ASAP Ferg immortalized Sugar-Free Red Bull, and for good reason: it's good. For Nick, only Blueberry Red Bull usurps it in the Red Bull hierarchy.
Tyler - Forgetful juice. Must be hitting extra hard.

The Bev Boys answer the four most important questions heading into the 2021 NBA season:
We answer these questions and more and talk about our favorite points from the Sacramento Kings preseason. They're 4-0 and we are excited!
Bevs on tap:
Nick: Recess CBD-Infused Sparkling Peach Ginger - Kind of filmy. Didn't feel all that relaxed. Could be better, but not going to spend more money on this.
Tyler: Boylen Bottling Co Root Beer - It gets better the more you drink it, but you know what they say about root beer: the Mormons do it better.
Alvin: KeVita Apple Cider Vinegar Tonic Elderberry - Not the kombucha replacement I wanted, but even then the smell of apple cider vinegar hitting your nostrils before even tasting it does not set a good precedent. It could use a bit more carbonation and less vinegar flavor. Would try other tonics.
The BBBB guys are joined by the one and only Quentin, providing instant reactions and analysis to the NBA Draft, including the Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs, and more. Shock and awe. Join us for the ride and relive the most interesting draft night in a while.
No bevs today!
Bevs, boys, and the Sacramento Kings. What more could you want? Obviously, some NBA Finals talk (recorded before game 6), some Sacramento Kings basketball trades, and our NBA draft big board. We go into that and more in this two-part podcast. Prepare yourself for the 2021 NBA Draft with our research and insight, and get your bev on with the boys.
Bevs on tap
Nick: Gatorade Frost - A true classic. Light, easy, and depending on who you ask, the ideal beverage.
Tyler: Coca-Cola Vanilla - It comes and goes, but Vanilla Coke has a very fragrant vanilla smell that moves into its taste. Some kind of feel it tastes a bit like a flat Coca-Cola.
Alvin: Taiwan Classic Bubble Milk Tea Drink - Not as good as the real deal, but it hits the spot just as you'd want it. Tapioca pearls are hard to get from the bottom of the can.

The NBA Draft is right around the corner and Nick and Alvin have lots of opinions on players we think will fit best on the Kings, potential sleepers, our picks as the Sacramento Kings GM, and more. Then we talk about our picks in the late first round and second round draft picks. Our talk features players like Jalen Green, Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Scottie Barnes, Alperen Sengun, Moses Moody, and more. You won't want to miss this one.
Of course, though, we talk about the Phoenix Suns and the success they are seeing courtesy of Chris Paul and their tenacity on both sides of the court. Will the Bucks be strong enough to beat the Suns? Will Trae Young come back? We bring it all on.
Bevs on tap:
Tyler - Red Bull Sugar Free: not the same. We understand the need to cut the sugar, but it just isn't the same taste as a normal Red Bull, which lets you know that the good times are coming.
Nick - Starbucks Nitro Cold Brew Dark Cocoa Sweet Cream: exceeds all expectations. Really very good. Moderate viscosity and it stands on its own as a beverage one can drink any time.
Alvin - Vitamin Water XXX: this is a beverage we have a tough time paying for. It is fine for the most part but leaves you wanting more at the end of it. Could go without the pretense of being more than just lightly flavored water, but it makes promises it cannot keep.

Six NBA head coaching vacancies, shocking resignations, and a “mutual parting of ways” makes the coaching the Wild west of the NBA. The Bev Boys Basketball Broadcast uses their spin the bottle system system (SBSS) to determine the best coaching fits for each team in the NBA, from the Trailblazers to the Celtics to the Pelicans and more. But a shocking Kemba Walker trade, Dallas Mavs trouble, and more make this an exciting week in the NBA even without the playoffs.
Bevs
-Tyler: DG Jamaican Sof Drink - cola champagne (7/10). Different, but it's good though. Could be better but decent. Probably won't buy it again but I’ll be happy to see it. You should be too.
-Nick: Aha Berry + Pomegranate 16oz can (10/10). Just the right crispness with plenty of flavor. Hits the spot perfectly for a hot summer day.
-Alvin: Martinelli’s Apple Juice (9.5/10). We can confirm that biting into the bottle sounds like a waxy apple. Be sure to drink it, because it is the platonic ideal of apple juice. Very hard to beat in the apple juice world.
Why is Kristaps Porzingis tall for no reason? How will the Jazz fare against the Clippers? Will Damian LIllard request a trade out of Portland? How do the Sacramento Kings improve in all of this mess? The Bev Boys Basketball broadcast gives you a breakdown of the 2021 NBA Playoffs, what went right, what went wrong, and what you should see next.
The hits don't end, and we hit the bevs.

Welcome to the Bev Boys Basketball Broadcast, where we talk bevs, basketball, and anything else we want really.
Today's conversation revolved around the Sacramento Kings and rumors of Richaun Holmes suitor offers of up to $20 million per year. Is he worth the cost, and if so can the Kings even afford to keep him? Or does his departure leave us experiencing Holmes-lessness? At least we have Kyle Guy doing in-game windmill dunks.
Then we go into our favorite head coach, Luke Walton, and vent. Just vent. Come join us for a bit of relief there. And if we aren't going to see any improvements in coaching, we figured we would look at potential game-changing trades that are off the beaten path. Brandon Ingram to the Kings, anyone?
The playoffs are here and we go over our favorite moments, predominantly Dillon Brooks looking like evil Danny Green as they shut down the Jazz in game one. Come join us, we'd love to have you.
Bevs on tap:
Nick: Celsius Heat - Inferno Punch - Old reliable. Feels good to feel good. But what's the deal with Celsius? They should've called it Fahrenheit!
Tyler: Nesquik Chocolate Milk - The third podcast in a row where someone had chocolate milk. This might be the best one yet, mostly due to the mascot.
Alvin: Trader Joe's Mango Smoothie - Smooth as you'd expect and without the corn syrup taste that plagues mango-flavored foods. A bit too sweet, but a solid smoothie on the go.

Alvin, Tyler, and Nick break down not only our picks for the NBA 2021 MVP race but our top five picks, with some surprises. We then lay down the law from our cushy chairs NBA tough guys, whether they're real or fake, and the recent lack of in-game altercations. What's the deal with that? Finally we do what every Kings fan needs with just 14 games left in the season: a group therapy session. Join us in the highs and lows of what makes the NBA fantastic, and join us as we reason our Sacramento Kings fandom in another season of disappointment and indifference mixed with some of our worst beverage opinions yet.
Alvin - Foco Coconut Juice with Pulp - detractors say it's gross. Alvin says it's delicious, refreshing, and just a bit too sweet.
Tyler - Trader Joe's Peppermint Tea - a distinguished bev for a distinguished big city guy.
Nick - fairlife Chocolate 2% Ultra-Filtered Milk - Nick's top pick for bottled chocolate milk. For him, nothing beats this, with a viscosity that is hard to beat.

In this week's episode, Tyler imagines what things might look like had Monte McNair decided to match Bogdanovic's contract. What opportunities that might've provided for the Kings having him as another asset or as a critical part of the team moving forward. We also discuss the recent top 25 under 25 list put out by ESPN. The Kings have 2 players on that list which is pretty neat, but wait what's this?... LaMelo Ball is #3 on that list!? Yet another Ball Blaspheme.
Bevs on tap today:
Tyler: Bai antioxidant infusion (chock full of Erythritol)
Alvin: Hint Watermelon (#1 recommended by multiple NPR podcasts)
Nick: Hint Raspberry (A better version of Propel)
It's hard to tell someone that they're a loser, but we do just that in this latest episode, where we outline the winners and losers from the 2021 NBA trade deadline. After we give a solid overview into who the latest additions to the Kings are, what they might be able to contribute, and whether or not it makes sense to be made about not blowing up the team.
Bevs on tap today:
Alvin - Sunwink Detox Ginger (a kombucha impersonator that falls short)
Tyler - flat Sprite (Tyler loves everything Sprite so this is a win for him)
Nick - Liquid Death Sparkling Water (a just-right amount of carbonation)
