Kreed Revere Revival: Interview with Kreed Revere of The Estranged Heart Podcast
This episode with Kreed Revere of “The Estranged Heart” podcast is a gem that I’ve held close for a while now. Kreed’s work around parent/child estrangement has been the springboard for many family reconciliations when years of wondering “Why??” leaves us without answers. Perhaps the answer lies within. Kreed found her journey took a much different turn when she began to re-examine her contributions to the relationships that she was so determined to repair. Check out Kreed’s work here: www.theestrangedheart.com, and follow The Estranged Heart podcast wherever you get your podcasts. If Wishes Were Horses with Lindsay de Swart
I looked to Lindsay de Swart early last year to help me tune into some limiting beliefs that I’ve held about money. I had the joy of meeting her through our podcasting journeys, and in our first few conversations, she delivered some pretty potent insights that inspired me to unpack some messy financial hangups. Her blend of no-nonsense practicality with the woo woven through makes her a fantastic coach for the dreamer and the cynic alike. Lindsay has worked with women for 17 years to help them ignite and rekindle their 'inner spark' and courage to live their next chapter. She is a Shamanic Coach, Energy Medicine Practitioner, Life Coach, Hypnotherapist and 'Horse Whisperer'. She lives in England, is the mother of 3 teenagers and loves outdoor adventures. She is now known for bringing horses and owners together in partnership without using harsh training techniques or repetitive exercises. Check out my appearance on Lindsay’s podcast, Magical Midlife, here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/whats-up-with-your-stuff-with-kira-rodenbush/id1567640554?i=1000547677426. Expert or Enthusiast? Interview with Lesley McShane of Redesigning Midlife
Lesley McShane has spent her professional life educating, entertaining, and encouraging, whether creating content for children’s programming, or crafting immersive experiences for museums. After raising her family and wrapping up a rewarding career, she found herself wanting to share her passion for fitness to encourage women in midlife, who perhaps “have all the tools”, to dust them off and use them. As a personal trainer and accountability coach, Lesley’s no-bs approach is tempered with her humor and humility, and I imagine she’s the kind of coach who can get you out of your comfort zone with a grin on your face. I’ll bet she could even get me on a bike! Check out the time I was a guest on the previous incarnation of Lesley’s podcast, The New Old You, here: open.spotify.com/episode/2jTOzJICwV3rpaNUlEKLoG?si=8OCZgIRaSsOPfmpDDMnNkQ For more information on how to work with Lesley, you can check out her website, lesleylmcshane.com.

What’s Up With Your Stuff? Conversations on the Consequences of Clutter
Suck It and C Words - Interview with Nathy Gaffney
My absolute favorite part of this podcasting journey has been the people I've met along the way, from other podcasters to people I've blindly approached about engaging with me on this platform.  Nathy Gaffney and I met in a workshop and immediately connected, recognizing the performer and former party girl in each other, and the overlap doesn't end there.  The evolution into self care and personal expansion is one that inevitably demands a certain level of self-examination, and hearty doses of humility and curiosity, to boot.  Nathy's podcast, Suck it and See (https://open.spotify.com/show/78gwG6w88wtGkWRc1r0JxL?si=c1c352960d9f497e), is a raw and cheeky examination of her approach to life's lemons, and how to make refreshment from the sour and the sweet. In this discussion, we talk about the difference between stepping back and stepping away, the importance of having different coaches while you create your vision, and how to know when and how to mitigate your energetic output to maintain your fabulousness well beyond your club hopping days. Make sure to check her out, and feel free to join the conversation here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/625330825260625/ Nathy Gaffney has had what can be politely termed a 'diverse portfolio career'. A professional actor and comedy/cabaret performer for over twenty years, she's also spent time working behind bars (and drinking in them), waiting on tables (and dancing on them), being a nightclub door bitch, barista and celebrity impersonator. These days she's traded treading the boards for the boardroom, working as a facilitator and executive coach with Phuel Australia where she still enjoys a captive audience - albeit minus the feathers and sequins. The Gap Year(s) is her first book, soon to be followed by The C Word - a personal development book focusing on female confidence. Nathy lives wedged between the city and the sea in Sydney's eastern suburbs, with her teenage son and adventure seeking partner.

Home away from Home: Interview with Parenting Coach and Podcaster Kate Godfrey
Running one household is tricky enough, but the idea of parenting a whole other passel of kiddos in addition to one’s own sounds downright daunting! It takes a special kind of someone to share their lives with a cohort of students as house parents for a boarding school. Kate Godfrey, her husband, Nate, and their daughters are precisely the kind of people who lean into that challenge. Perhaps it’s growing up with The Facts of Life - this fascinates me. I mean, I’m lucky to get my cats herded on any given day. What are her secrets? This episode shares Kate’s routine as a house parent for running her home and the attached dormitory of boys that she and Nate care for. Earlier this year, I had the joy of sharing my marriage and motherhood story on Kate’s podcast, here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/authentikate-nate/id1600731287?i=1000559152391. Stone in Love: Interview with Comedian and Author Kelly Stone
OMG! Welcome to the episode where I totally fangirl and crush out on multi-hyphenate Martian Mommy, educator and activist Kelly Stone. Since coming on my radar (thank you, algorithms and six degrees of Southwest Texas), Kelly has enchanted me with her approach to most all things, from frontline political engagement to the way she appreciates a good sandwich. Needless to say, I took advantage of my podcast platform to reach out to her so that I could try to entice her to be my new best friend, and turns out, she’s got a lot on her plate(s). Hang out with us while she nutshells her awesomeness, and be aware that we barely scratch the surface. In the time since this episode was recorded, Kelly has also released her charming children’s book, Good Night, San Marcos. Every Breath You Take: Healing Trauma Through Breathwork with Chetana Barkan
This episode’s conversation is with dear friend and fellow healing artist Chetana Barkan. Chetana and I were massage therapists out at Breitenbush Hot Springs in the early aughts, and, similarly, have found ways to weave our bodywork into a broader practice that acknowledges the deeply imbedded traumas that impact our abilities to show up as our most authentic selves. You can find more information about the transformative benefits of Chetana’s work here: http://chetanalaurenbarkan.com/. Running Up That Hill: Interview with Health Coach and Gardenista Hillary Raph
This conversation with my longtime friend and partner in health, Hillary Raph, is an intimate look into the mindsets that make up our wellness journeys. Hillary shares her personal story about how she finally made the decision to put her health first, choose sobriety, and lead by example from inside a family dynamic where healthy choices might not be the collective priority. We discuss how our mental health impacts our physical health, and how to maintain our footing in the center of these satellite relationships as child, partner, parent, friend. Hillary and I geek out on the joy and ease of aeroponic gardening and, as usual, the importance of routine. Meeting of the Like Minds: Interview with Pam Holland of Mindful Decluttering and Organizing
One of my favorite parts of this podcasting journey is the opportunity to engage with other professionals who share my passion points. Pam Holland is one of those kindred spirits on this decluttering path. I reached out to her on a whim after finding her on the internet and have been following her since. I was so pleased when she agreed to share her time, her wisdom and grounded approach so generously. It’s always a treat to connect with likeminded peers in your niche who value a similar approach, and I look forward to more conversations on the consequences of clutter with Pam in the future. Creating Space Within the Container: Interview with Anastasia Gambill of Bespoke Movement Arts
Regardless of our lifestyles, we can all agree that there is a tendency to attempt to stuff 10lbs of $#*+ into a 5lb bag. Where do we go to increase our bandwidth when we feel as though we can’t stretch any further? The answer: within. It’s amazing how stillness and expansion, flip sides of the same coin, can help us to create space where we once felt confined. Establishing a consistent movement and breath work practice, especially at home, can be transformative when it comes to making your home a sanctuary. The last couple of years has made accessibility to such offerings readily available, and this conversation with Anastasia Gambill of Bespoke Movement Arts is a wonderful discussion about routine, simplicity, family, connection, self care, and the impact we make on our containers and communities. Thanks for listening! Find Anastasia at https://www.bespokemovementarts.com/. Here’s a link to her FREE week of classes: https://www.bespokemovementarts.com/library-card. What’s Up With Your Stuff? Conversations on the Consequences of Clutter
Sunk Cost Fallacy and Ode to Melody Reed
****CONTENT WARNING: KIRA BRINGS THE TEARS****. You may want to grab the tissues for this one! “Sunk cost fallacy: noun - the phenomenon whereby a person is reluctant to abandon a strategy or course of action because they have invested heavily in it, even when it is clear that abandonment would be more beneficial.” Whether it’s a defining character trait or a family heirloom, sometimes reevaluating why we are holding on to what we are is so deeply imbedded in our identities and our personal histories that the idea of releasing ourselves from said objects or situations feels too overwhelming. However, showing ourselves grace in the decision making process and allowing ourselves the space to ideate a future that’s free from the expectations of our ancestors or forbears can help us open up to our most authentic expression in the moment. By being honest and truthful with ourselves and making a consistent personal inventory a priority, we can ensure that our curated legacies of personal effects reflect the fabulous tapestry of our life’s experiences. Melody Reed was a client of mine who taught me some major lessons about finding silver linings and remaining committed to your passions even through your darkest days. Her life, as I knew her, was an exploration of contrast between light and dark, and her lens was gentle, compassionate, and full of wonder, even as her wry smile and dry humor played with the sharper edges. Thank you, Melody. Please enjoy Melody’s photos and some of her digital footprint here: https://instagram.com/enchanted_camera?utm_medium=copy_link. What’s Up With Your Stuff? Conversations on the Consequences of Clutter
Life After Tom’s Diner, pt 1: Before the Rain Began
Join me, Kira Rodenbush, as I reconnect with the client who's ex-husband's hoard provided the most fertile and ripe ground for me to start thinking these thoughts. Rhonda Rosenheck, a poet and writer who lives in the New York State capital region, spent 33 years in education before pouring her passion into her Poet's Perch Writer’s Retreat, a tiny home on wheels parked at the edge of a little river that is a far cry and many moons away from where she lived when we met. That was in the summer of 2003, and when I met her and her husband, they were on vacation in Oregon.  I spent the following autumn and subsequent spring of 2004 in NYC, where I attempted to "organize" her husband's apartment (which happened to be above the iconic Tom’s Diner, immortalized by both Suzanne Vega and the Seinfeld gang) while she was co-founding a private high school in New Jersey.   Rhonda is a cancer survivor who lives with fibromyalgia that was diagnosed in 2012.  Her journey with stuff, both her own and others', has proven rife with symbolism and has definitely left it's print on her body. This first part deals with the thick of our relationship. Rhonda can be found at: https://www.tinyhouse-writersretreat.com/
