In today’s episode I talk about three activities I do to keep my mind sharp yet fluid. As a creative, it’s important that my brain juices stay flowing so I can keep the ideas coming and the LFE (Life Force Energy) UP.
As you know, I love to read and reading is very often a way for me to stay inspired and keep the creative flame burning. I find Austin Kleon books extremely inspiring (I mention his books at the start of this episode though they are not part of the exercises I mention) and I highly, highly, highly recommend them to everyone trying to do creative work.
Do you have any go-to activities that help you stay creative? I believe creativity is like a muscle that if exercised can get stronger, so even if you don't think of yourself as a creative person, I challenge you to try these and see what happens!!
If you like my podcast and this episode, I would love it if you gave it a good rating. :)

In this episode, I challenge a common saying that I don't agree with: "You get what you deserve."
There is so much injustice in the world and bad things that happen to good people that I just can't get fully behind this saying. Same goes for karma, but that's a topic for another future episode.
If you've ever wondered whether more effort=better results, then you may find some surprising examples I share of that simply not being the case.
Tune in and let me know what you think on insta @drechez and twitter @drechez.
Enjoy!
I am back!!!! With an episode where I talk about one of my favourite books of all time... and why.
I really believe this book lives up to its title-- when I read it back in 2015/2016, it was exactly the soul medicine I didn't know I needed until I had it. It really helped shift perspectives for me and helped keep me mentally afloat during a very trying time.
Have a listen and let me know your thoughts on insta @drechez! If you enjoy the episode, share it on your stories so more people can enjoy it too. :)

Hello! Today I'm sharing with y'all a few books by one of my fave authors Austin Kleon: https://austinkleon.com/
If you've been feeling a little unmotivated lately or uninspired, let these books help you the way they've helped me!! I swear any time I pick them up, I start feeling the creative butterflies fluttering in my stomach and I want to get to WERK IMMEDIATELY. These books are magic and I'm so grateful they exist. (Thank you Austin!!)
In today's episode, I share with you how these books have helped me overcome creative inertia and why it's important to just START, wherever you are.

Hello! In today's *thought snack*, I review one of the chapters in a wonderful lil book I've been reading called Zen: The Art of Simple Living.
This book is filled with applicable, day to day wisdoms on how to cultivate a better, healthier, more balanced life and the chapter I mention is all about getting in touch with nature, in whatever capacity you can! (Yes, petting and talking to your house plants definitely counts!)
If you vibe with the episode and are loving the pod, pls leave a review! Leaving a review boosts the podcast's visibility so that other people can find it and enjoy it too. :) If you'd like to reach out to me, you can do so on my insta @drechez and I'm now on twitter too! @drechez :)
Thanks for tuning in!!
Hello! Thanks for tuning in to today's episode where I ask you the question: What is your philosophy in life?
And I'm not talking about a life motto (IE "Live life to the fullest" or "How someone treats a waiter speaks volumes"), because those phrases are often not well examined. I'm talking about a practical, applicable, consistent set of principles that you live by and practice to help you solve day to day existential problems. Do you have that in your life?
I believe the role of philosophy is to help you actually navigate life's ups and downs (akin to a religion except there's no compulsion behind it to help you get there IE prayer/confession/rituals/etc). Without clarity around your own life philosophy or principles, the choices you make might end up being out of sync with your values, which would eventually lead to feeling unfulfilled and unhappy.
I speak about this more in depth in the episode, so tune in if it's something that interests you!
If you'd like to reach out to me about today's topic, shoot me a message on my insta @drechez.
xx
When was the last time that you wrote down everything you're grateful for?
This is a powerful exercise to get you out of a funk. Sometimes it's hard to look at the positives in life when there's so much going wrong (pandemic, death, war, climate change, etc) but if we can pause to consider the things that are going well in life and what makes us happy, I can almost guarantee that you'll be feeling a little bit better after.
Five minutes is all it takes-- give it a shot!

Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY!
It’s time for a fresh new podcast episode!!
This week I go into a few personal stories about my experiences using ✨AFFIRMATIONS✨ lately.
It started off with watching a few trending (affirmation) tiktok videos which then grew into a curiosity which has now developed into a nice part of my morning/daily routine that feels very nourishing. Also… there have been some weirdddddd occurrences after having started saying them. I go into a lot more detail in the episode.
This has been my first time really giving affirmations a crack and I’m actually shooketh! Have you tried saying affirmations of any kind and felt any changes in your life? I’d love to know!
Tune in on iTunes or Spotify to listen to the episode. And remember to screenshot the podcast and tag me in your stories if you’re vibing! I love to know who’s listening! :)
In today’s 🍒Thought Snack🍒I talk about chapter eight in Kate James’s book, “Believe in Yourself and Do What You Love,” which touches on the topic of people pleasing and how problematic it can be.
Ask yourself this: have you been disconnecting from yourself in your attempts to connect with others? In episode 17, this is exactly what is discussed: the fine balance between showing up for others without self betrayal. Put your oxygen mask on first, type of thing.
If you have ever felt or currently feel like there is an imbalance between what you give to others and what you give to yourself, this episode is definitely for you. Tune in to figure out whether you are currently self forgetting (people pleasing) and most importantly, what you can do about it!
If you enjoyed this episode, make sure you subscribe :)
HELLOOOOO my lovely people and happy Libra season!!! YAYYYY I fkn love Libra season cus the sun shines in my 11th house of friendships and my natal Mercury so it's no surprise that I am coming out of a my podcast silence hiatus now!
Episode 16 is all about relationships and as you'll find out when you listen, the importance of quality and intentional ALONE TIME.
We often hear of advice being given to relationship hoppers that they should spend time alone and give relationships a break. But how come that same advice isn't as widely given to those who have been on dating apps for years and move from one fling to the next repeatedly?
Let's think about this more deeply and figure out whether it's actually *both* groups who could use intentional alone time.
P.S. This episode could easily be turned into a drinking game for whenever I say "alone time" LOL. You'd be blacked out by the end of the episode though. Might be fun. Might be dangerous. Play at your own risk.
xo!
Brace yourselves for this episode because I go off, lol.
Life has thrust some shitty curveballs my way this year (as well as some sparkly, amazing ones) and personally, I don’t think there is any rhyme or reason for it. In this episode, I go into why I think the trope of positive thinking is not a reliable or accurate way to try to explain why things happen.
Also, this episode wasn’t scripted/practiced/no notes were taken and I’m speaking from personal experience. I’ve heard the episode before posting it and I just want to make clear that absolutely zero offence is intended when I speak about gender/race/sexual orientation/disabilities interchangeably; I speak about these interchangeably because they are all aspects about a person that can make them targets to violence. In certain parts I also use the words discrimination/assault/abuse interchangeably too, and it’s mainly to make a point about wrongdoings being inflicted upon a person.
When I say “Happening to them and not because of them” explained in examples:
Happening to them: someone is showing up to work on time, displays a good attitude and is doing their best. The company decides to make cuts and said employee gets let go. In this example, there is nothing the person could’ve done because they were already doing the best they could. The decision of the company is out of their hands therefore; this is happening TO them.
Happening because of them: someone shows up hungover to work every day so their work starts to suffer, they stink of liquor, they pick fights with staff and eventually get fired. In this example, the person brought it upon themselves to lose their job.
Lots of cursing is said in this episode so definitely don’t hear it around children and if you enjoy it, let me know by sharing on your stories and tagging me on insta @drechez!!!
xoxo, dre
Hello everyone!! In today's episode, I discuss three words that have helped me reach more clarity and have helped me make decisions in the past.
These three words can also be quite grounding... as they can help you see a situation in a more manageable way.
Think of these words as a SOS from indecision, confusion, and inertia.
I can't wait for you to listen and see how this resonates for you!
I would love to know how this landed and your thoughts on the matter-- pls screenshot this episode and tag me on insta @drechez to let me know!
And if you're loving what you're hearing, pls leave me a review. The more positive reviews I have, the more this podcast will be found by others.
Thanks so much for being here :)

Hello!
In today's podcast episode I get a little bit personal re my own journey with habit building, the power of embracing change, and finish the episode with some key takeaways from the first 50 pages of "Atomic Habits" by James Clear.
If you're feeling a bit stuck somewhere in your life and afraid of making a change, this episode might be the small push you need to make moves. :)
If you like what you hear, pls give the podcast a rating so it can find its way to more listeners! And if anything resonated at all, I would love to know. Screenshot the episode, share it on your stories and tag me @drechez on insta with your thoughts!

Hello!!
In this new segment, I will be briefly recapping important notes I have accumulated over the last few years from the large number of books I have read.
In this episode, I will discuss with you some of my notes from the first chapter of Deepak Chopra’s “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Superheroes.” I go over the importance of emotional acceptance in trying to find deeper balance in your life.

In today's episode things get juiccccceeeyyyyyyyy, well kind of.
I deep dive into the concept of whether we'd be better off handling relationships more like a contract instead of the Hollywood, media driven narrative that typically throws caution to the wind and encourages us to lead with emotion *only* when we start to get them ~*fEeLs*~
Do you think people would benefit from approaching matters of the heart in a more logical/cool headed/ thought through way? (YES, LOL)
I'd love to know your thoughts, especially if you disagree!! I'd really like to include someone's opposing opinion in the next episode I record. Screenshot this episode and tell me what you think on the gram! Tag me @drechez so we can connect.
P.S. This is the video my friend sent me that has a GREAT system for dating, IMO (I mention this in the episode!)

Take care, y'all!
Ok! Mercury has been RX for a few weeks and has a few more days left of its first rx of 2021... what a lil cunt!
In this episode I talk about what it means for Mercury to be retrograde and alsoooo I take you through a cool Instagram post I found that had insights into Mercury through the houses! I try to speak about all the houses a bit though some of them didn't get as much love because I'm not as well versed in some.
If you resonated with any parts of this episode, screenshot it and share with me!! What house is your Mercury in and did you think the post I read was accurate to your placement?? Tag me on insta @drechez

Byeeeeee!!!
It's been a hot minute!!!!!!
In today's episode, I do a lil recap with y'all about what I've been up to, the direction the podcast is taking and finally (drum roll pls.......) I RANK THE SIGNS FROM WORST TO BEST, LOL.
In this new segment called TRASH TALK ASTROLOGY, the approach is less information focused and more chill/candid/conversational. Think of it as a podcast version of a meme account where it's more stereotyped and funny, less factual and serious business.
I had a lot of fun going through all the signs and thinking about the order in which I'd rank them. I'd love to know how YOU'D rank the signs from worst to best, haha. If you enjoyed this episode and want to share your rankings, pls share w us on your stories and tag me!! @drechez :)
Even though the approach of this segment is super informal, I think you'll still learn quite a bit about most signs. ;)
ENJOY!!
