The Elephant in the Room
Ep 7 - The Elephant whose House was On Fire (But didn't really seem to care)

In Episode 7, The Elephant Whose House is on Fire, we confront the emotional toll of the climate and biodiversity crisis. Why do so many of us, even when we see the floods and fires, feel apathetic or overwhelmed? How do personal priorities, social pressures, and a sense of powerlessness shape our inaction? We explore the complexities of talking about climate change with friends, the struggle to balance personal responsibility with systemic change, and the anxiety about planning for a future on a warming planet. Can we find the emotional resilience to face these truths—and act on them?

Ep 3 The Elephant That Took a Hard Right

In this episode of our webinar and podcast series, we talk to Vittorio Bufacchi about another elephant in the room: the rise of the far right. The rise of the far right has sparked fear and confusion in Ireland and around the world. But what does "far right" actually mean, and how do we recognise it? In this episode, we’ll explore the concerns many people share, from fears of being labeled far right to anxieties about immigration, violence, and political extremism. Through an honest conversation, we’ll unpack the realities of far-right ideologies, what’s really happening in Ireland, and how we can address these divisive issues without fracturing our communities. Join us as we discuss how to foster understanding and prevent the rise of dangerous movements that have gained traction elsewhere.

Ep 2 - The Elephant that Felt Alone

In the second webinar and podcast of this series, we will talk to Niamh Dohetry about another elephant in the room: mental health.

50% of 18 to 29-year-olds in Ireland report feeling low levels of mental wellbeing. But how often do we truly talk about it?

In our upcoming episode, The Elephant That Felt Alone, we’ll sit down with Niamh Doherty to explore the unspoken realities of mental health among young people today. From the pressure to appear like you're living your "best life" on social media to feeling overwhelmed by college, friendships, and an uncertain future—many of us feel alone in these struggles, even though they’re more common than we think.

You’re not alone if you're questioning whether things will get better. Let’s break the silence and talk about what’s really going on behind the scenes.
