About Rory

Dr. Rory Hearne is an Associate Professor of Social Policy at Maynooth University, specializing in housing, social justice, and inequality. He has authored Gaffs (2022) and Housing Shock (2020), which have significantly shaped discussions on Ireland’s housing crisis. With a PhD from Trinity College Dublin, Rory’s research blends activism and academia, and he regularly contributes to national media on key social issues. His work has been recognized for its impact on policy, including a personal presentation to the President of Ireland.
