Do you struggle with the crushing feelings of shame or anger when you fail at something? As a Global Head of Health Safety and Wellbeing, Maria Anderson is no stranger to assessing risk. She is more than aware of the life and death impact failure can make. Whilst there are areas that failure truly is not an option, Maria suggests that within the right context, we can view failure as an opportunity, to learn, to grow and an achieve greater things. It isn't a matter of cliché, more one of fact, but it takes courage. As Brené Brown stated, "Failure can become our most powerful path to learning if we're willing to choose courage over comfort."

Is hybrid working here to stay?

Is hybrid working here to stay?

According to UK parliament statistics, in 2019 around 12% of the UK workforce worked from home at least one day per week. In 2022, that figure rose to 22%. Data suggests that 80% of employees whom worked at home due to the COVID pandemic, prefer a hybrid model rather than a full return to the office.

However, aside from the stats, what does hybrid working look like in practice? Is it the panacea for work life balance as some would suggest?

A big thank you to business leader, Garima Kothari, who joins me on the latest episode of the Active Listener to discuss hybrid working and its impact upon the world of work.

Garima is currently CEO, Leadership Trust Singapore. As a business leader, she is responsible for the growth and expansion of Leadership Trust in Asia. Through the experience of working with leaders across cultures, she brings to the table an understanding of transforming organisational & leadership behaviours for improving team and business performance. With a master’s degree in Organisational Behaviour and Industrial Psychology, her scope of intervention includes COEs, P&L and HR Ops in multinationals.
