Terms & Conditions

We are all bound by terms & conditions in our everyday relationships, be that with parents, partners, friends, teachers, colleagues or acquaintances. Are the rules of engagement set or can we reshape the dynamic? Can you say no to things that negatively impact you without consequence? In this episode C and J discuss what it takes to stay relevant in each other's lives, without losing your personal identity.

Let Me Entertain You

C and J take a trip down memory lane with entertainment consumption throughout the generations. From pirate DVD sales (we all knew someone), to the modern streaming service at our fingertips 24/7. Has the quality of content changed with the new model of consuming media and are we now tied to the 'never ending watchlist'. Are we overloading ourselves with micro dopamine hits for content and does this have a negative impact on our mental health? What does the future hold in the battle for our hearts and minds in entertainment?

Toxic Colleagues

We spend on average 36.7 hours at work each week, not including overtime (free or paid). British people think about quitting their job 16 times a year ... probably more if you are very unhappy or in a difficult situation with your colleagues or a boss. Join C and J in a conversation about what it’s like to work with toxic colleagues, how to navigate that dynamic and know that you are not the problem. There is a plethora of content out there around working with toxic managers but rarely to we recognise working alongside toxic colleagues. There are steps you can take to support yourself in these situations.

To Narc Or Not To Narc

In the series finale we discuss Narcissism. The DSM version 5 lists Narcissism as a cluster B personality disorder (PD). A PD is an enduring and inflexible pattern of long duration, leading to significant distress or impairment and is not due to use of substances or another medical condition. On paper this is a cold and clinical view of the disorder but for those living with a 'narc', it has a completely devastating impact on their life both physically and mentally. This episode sees C and J take a very deep dive into the creation of a narcist, their patterns of behaviour, warning signs and finishes the episode with practical guidance and most importantly the 'light at the end of the tunnel' for victims of narcissistic abuse.

One Moment Caller

Customer service in the UK feels like it's at an all-time low. From sympathy atrophy, lack of problem solving, lack of accountability and a society that doesn't value offering or receiving good human customer service. Can AI fill the hole that has been left or are we destined to become accustomed to the new status quo of 'it is what it is'. Join C and J as they recount their own experiences and discuss why this has changed so significantly over the years e.g., has the pandemic permanently shifted the focus of customer service?

The Next Swipe

In the modern world of online dating, C and J explore methods of the past and present to capture the heart of another. Are we disconnected more than ever before? Forced to use a digital interface for matters of the human heart. Does it meet our expectations or are we ultimately offering a menu style service for self-gratification, which leads to loneliness?  Is this the new normal that GenZ / Gen Alpha can navigate more adeptly, with the 'ick' playing a bigger part in the dating dynamic lingo. What does this mean for the older generations and the prevalence of scam love. Join us as we discuss 'The Next Swipe'.
