Thanks for the photo, Hibi Rea!
For this episode, the two of us sat down and discuss some current (saddening) news and announcements regarding musicians that we truly admired since our early years of being music fans. We talked about Mark Hoppus' announcement of his battle with cancer; and also shared some stories about the fathers of Midwest emo; American Football in lieu of their drummer and founding member Steve Lamos' announcement of calling it quits from the band.
As we talk about American Football, we reminisce on the depths of our fandom. We sought answers from the myths on how they remain influential, respected, and considered to be one of the most loved musical acts of the (emo) alternative scene from the last 20 years (attested by the cringe-worthy memes).
Most importantly, we shared our top picks from the AF catalog in which Dex, who was lucky enough to catch them perform in Manila (for the first time), gave us a glimpse of his experience as he was graced by the music and presence of these emo gods; singing with fans along a sea of the gloomy and eerie wall of sounds.
PS
With the current social/political climate and with everything happening around us we hope that you are safe and keeping things intact. With the elections getting near we hope to see everyone getting involved, taking a stand, exercising their rights, and keeping things rational. We hope to stay vigilant amidst misinformation and injustices.
Kung taga Project DV ka, boboto ka, boboto kang matalino.

In this episode, we got a special guest who is also an alumnus of Southern Luzon State University. A graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Communication, a former vice-president of College of Arts in Science’s Student Council, an educator on Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, the host and storyteller of This is Jade Oraa, Your Host, and the founding President of MOVE Youth Organization, Mr. Jade Abayari Oraa.
This episode is an introduction to a 2-part special full of insightful discussion of our experiences and stories from our student life towards the path of self-discovery, development, and fulfillment.
How-do-you-do!
Project D.V. is back for another season of insightful yet amusing discussions! From music, culture, art, film, and contemporary social issues, this episode will serve as a peek at what is coming for Season 2. Coming back from our lengthy break, we did some catching up on each other's creative projects and personal endeavors, music discoveries, and educational actualization that we can share with our listeners.
Tune in, sit with us, and jam for another feel-good conversation that takes you down that hang-out spot where you share and talk with your closest friends.
That's where we are, on the same address “Taga-Project D.V. Tayo”.
Before we go on a short hiatus for our season break we decided to do another episode of Record Musing. We didn't pick a certain theme this time. We simply picked two records that we wanted to talk about for the longest time. Records that are currently playing restlessly within our heads (or maybe even in our hearts).
Vince's pick is an album that is dreamy, eerie and at the same time, it can serve as a warm blanket of emotions and security from innocence and longing. It was Phoebe Bridger's Punisher.
On the other hand, Dex's pick is another local gem. From a band that has a simple formula of sincerity and catchiness to their pop-rock sound, they have produced a list of memorable songs that are carved into our memories, something we are always ready to sing our lungs out in a time of need; Hale's sophomore output, Twilight.
From time to time, we might find ourselves in reverie, in a daydream, in a panorama of cinematic scenes, or an episode of a motion picture that we created within our minds. Whether it is a life that imitates art or art that reflects our daily existence, one of the best ways in creating an impelling experience is to set a tremendous emotional musical score.
Join us as we talked about our favorite movie soundtracks through a series of deep dive on all the feels that it has taken us. Listen as we share our beloved film scoring, most memorable movie scenes and our very own”Binatana Moments”. Enjoy as we go full blown pseudo-cinephiles with our imaginary biographical flicks such as DABOYHOOD and many more.

For a small underground music scene that exists on the pits of the suburbian community of Quezon Province, far from the Metro where all avenues and artistic endeavors are always actively present; a movement driven by artistic freedom has been successfully striving for decades now. More than the musicians, artists, and organizers another vital player for the triumphs of these collectives are the people documenting these events.
Behind these lenses that capture a shared experience of catharsis, rage, and bliss are artists themselves who are strongly committed to the craft that they choose, we sat down with two of our friends who have taken their passion for photography inside the underground music scene. Listen as we look back and discuss with Hibi Rea and Marc Balmes the important and most memorable moments they have witnessed on and off their lenses. Get hyped coz we are sure this one will crank you up big time.
We have something special in store for the 3rd episode of our podcast! For our first guest in Project D.V., we bring in the persona behind the indie rock outfit Midwife and the post-rock project TIM AWA, whose self-titled debut EP brought us a new wave of sound to escape our mundane lives and accompany us through an introspective experience of eerie, emotional and yet soothing soundscapes. A kind of music that can serve as a warm blanket of comfort to our stale or turbulent nights.
Here is an insightful, fun and at times a nostalgic conversation with one of the most notable artists from our region, Ms. Zephra Lagos.
Enjoy listening as we discuss her roots, influences, and musical fandom from her formative days. She also gave us a sneak peek at what is in store for TIM AWA and Midwife in the near future and most importantly her current musical obsessions.
For the 2nd installment of Project D.V., we present to you a segment we called “Record Musing”. This is an introspection of our experiences through records that we embrace as the soundtracks of our lives. From Eraserheads to Chicosci, a crucial and critical stage for growth paralleled by these two featured albums that embody the CIRCUS of EMOTions attached to it.
Join us as we dug it down the not-so-distant past of our adolescence!
Welcome to Project D.V.!
For the first episode of Project D.V., we get to know the people behind this podcast and the story on why they decided to start this endeavor. This debut also gives us a glimpse of what's in store from these two young lad’s out-of-the-box stories.
