東京にはたくさんの電車や地下鉄があります。JR、京急電鉄、つくばエクスプレス、ゆりかもめ、東京メトロなど、多くの会社の路線があり、とても便利ですが、初めての人には少し難しいかもしれません。今日は、東京で電車に乗るときの基本を紹介します。まず、切符を買う方法です。駅の自動券売機で行きたい駅までの料金を調べて、切符を買うことができますが、東京では交通系のICカードを使う人が多いです。たとえばSuicaやPASMOというカードがあります。カードは駅の券売機や窓口で買うことができ、お金をチャージして使います。また、SuicaもPASMOもモバイルアプリをダウンロードして使用することもできます。改札ではカードやスマホ、スマートウォッチなどの端末を機械にタッチするだけで、切符を買わなくても電車に乗ることができますから、とても便利です。カードの残高が少なくなったら、駅の券売機やコンビニで簡単にチャージできますし、アプリ内でのチャージも簡単です。電車や地下鉄に乗るときは、駅の名前と路線の名前をしっかり確認することが大切です。東京には似た名前の駅もあるので、間違えないように注意しましょう。乗り換えが複雑なことも多いので、スマホのアプリを使うのがおすすめです。Googleマップや乗換案内のアプリを使うと、出発駅から目的地までのルートや乗り換え時間を教えてくれます。電車のホーム番号や、駅のどの出口から出るとよいかも表示されるので、とても便利です。電車に乗るときのマナーも知っておきましょう。電車のホームでは白い線の内側に並んで待ち、降りる人が出てから乗ります。車内では大きな声で話さず、電話もしないようにしましょう。ゴミ箱のない電車では、ごみは駅のゴミ箱に捨てるようにしましょう。時間通りに動く東京の電車や地下鉄は、慣れるととても便利で、快適です。ICカードやアプリをうまく使って、東京旅行を楽しんでくださいね！

金閣寺と呼ばれているお寺は、正式には「鹿苑寺」という名前のお寺です。14世紀の終わりごろ、足利義満という将軍の住む場所として建てられたようです。そして、足利義満が亡くなった後、お寺として使われるようになったと言われています。建物の一番の特徴は、外の壁が金箔で飾られていることです。太陽の光に照らされると、建物は金色に輝きます。そしてそれが、金閣寺の周りにある池の水に映って、とても美しい景色になります。その美しさは、昔からたくさんの人に愛され、今も観光客に楽しまれています。実は、金閣寺は今までに何度も修理されてきました。1950年には火事で燃えてしまったので、1955年に建て直されました。金箔も新しく貼り直され、美しい姿が守られています。そして、金閣寺は建物だけでなく、季節によって変わる景色も魅力の一つです。春は桜、夏は木々の緑、秋は紅葉、冬は雪景色と、四季を通して何度も訪れたくなる場所です。いろいろな季節に撮られた写真が、ポストカードにもよく使われています。1994年には、金閣寺はユネスコの世界遺産に登録されました。そのため、世界中のガイドブックやウェブサイトでも紹介されていて、日本の象徴として広く知られています。みなさんは、金閣寺に行ったことがありますか。どうでしたか。ぜひ感想をコメントで教えてくださいね。

留学生のアレックスさんは、日本に来て1年になります。学校の先生に「スピーチコンテストに出てみませんか」と言われて、出場を決めましたが、不安でいっぱいです。うまく話せるようになるために、まず、発音の練習をすることにしました。毎日30分、シャドーイングをするようにしています。それから、良いスピーチを書くために、毎日ニュースを読んだり、聞いたりして、自然な日本語を学ぶようにしました。そして、たくさんの人の前で話すのは緊張しますから、間違えないように、先生と一緒に何回も原稿を読む練習をしたり、緊張で失敗しないように、大きな声でゆっくり話す練習をしたりしました。コンテストの前日、練習のために10人の友達の前でスピーチをしてみました。今日までの練習のおかげで、緊張せずに話せるようになっていました。聞いてくれた友達も、みんな応援してくれました。いよいよ、コンテスト本番です。アレックスさんはステージに立って、大きく深呼吸をしました。そして、「私が日本に来た理由」というタイトルでスピーチを始めました。「私は、日本の文化を学ぶために日本に来ました。もともと興味があった茶道と剣道についてもっとよく知るために、部活に入りました。部活のメンバーとたくさん話せるようになりたかったので、毎日日本語を勉強するようにしています。そして・・・」スピーチが終わると、大きな拍手が聞こえて、アレックスさんはほっとしました。そして、「これからも、いろいろなことに挑戦するために、日本語をもっとがんばろう。」と思いました。

瑞希さんが朝起きると、外は少し雨(あめ)が降っていました。今日はでかける予定がありますから、ちょっと困りましたが、机の上に昨日友達にもらった飴(あめ)があったので、少し元気になりました。昼になると、雨(あめ)が止んだので、飴(あめ)をかばんに入れて瑞希さんはでかけました。川の近くを歩いていると、大きな橋(はし)の上に人がいました。その人は橋(はし)の端(はし)にあるベンチに座って、箸(はし)でお弁当を食べていました。橋(はし)をわたって、近くの公園に行くと、きれいな花(はな)を見つけました。瑞希さんが花(はな)に鼻(はな)を近づけると、くしゃみが出ました。ちょっと鼻(はな)がかゆいです。それから、瑞希さんは美容院(びよういん)に行って、髪を切りました。美容院(びよういん)の後で、病院(びょういん)にいるおじいさんにおじさんと一緒に会いに行きました。おじいさんは元気そうだったので、おじさんも瑞希さんも、ほっとしました。病院(びょういん)を出て、次はデパートの地下(ちか)にあるお店に行って、実家(じっか)へのおみやげを買いました。今夜は、地下(ちか)で買ったケーキを、実家(じっか)の両親といっしょに食べます。
