There are a few golden rules that can help us raise successful and confident children.
One of them is to believe in them, believe in their success, believe in their efforts and talents. In my practice I have seen some dysfunctional families. Many years ago I worked with one family. Both parents were unemployed and suffered from substance abuse. They were rarely home and children were neglected. But they had one very special and caring person in their life. The motherās older sister Reema, lived in the same building and worked at the library. She helped raising three kids and spent a lot of her time with them. The kids loved their aunt. Reema was consistently kind and loving toward her two nephews and a niece.
In order to grow up with a strong physical and emotional health, children need to feel secure and safe.
Auntie Reema was that reliable, secure and loving caregiver who provided these children sense of safety they needed.
Not only safety. Auntie Reema gave these young kids something truly invaluable. She instilled unshakable faith in them that they would achieve success and will live a meaningful life with a fulfilling career! She programmed them that they will lead a happy and stable life when they grow up.
Twelve years later, despite the troublesome childhood with unstable parents, all three children graduated with high grades and have a higher education from prominent universities. Today they do what they love and hold great jobs in prestigious companies. They possess solid life values and morals. Of course, they were scarred by their childhood traumas and parental neglect. They are still working through some issues, like we all humans do.
When I asked them:
"Ok, guys, where did you find strength and energy to achieve great results and life and cultivated confidence?"
All three shared that Auntie Reema was their main PARENT who never stopped showing them love and to make them feel special and unique. She instilled in their mind that they were going to be successful and worthy of the best thingsā life can offer. Don't we all need someone like Auntie Reema in our lives?
These are the things, Auntie Reema did for the kids:
1. She taught them main life values through books and conversations.
Values like honesty, kindness, hard work and responsibility.
2. She showed them with her own kindness and unconditional love how to live and how to love. She convinced them that GOD loves them dearly and always supports them and their dreams.
3. She believed in them and reminded them EVERY SINGLE DAY how exceptional and SPECIAL these children were.
4. She set high standards for them, encouraged to DREAM BIG and allowed them to make their own decisions
5. She supported them when they made mistakes and inspired them to find solutions.
They grew up as kind, responsible and self-reliant people.
The world needs more caregivers like Reema to show faith in our children, and to raise spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically healthy and strong future generations.
With Love, Gulnara Omar.
Changing is a difficult process, we need to respect the process and prepare for a change with care and patience, as if we are preparing for a serious surgery.
Stage One: Precontemplation - Before you even notice that there is a problematic behavior that needs to be changed.
Stage Two: Contemplation - When you start thinking about it.
Stage Three: Preparation/Determination - You are ready to plan and think about potential actions and start gathering information.
Stage Four: Action/Willpower/New Mindset - The change itself.
Stage Five: Change Maintenance - The most important stage.
My Personal Story: The Reason Behind My Passion.
Before you take this effective test how to find your calling, let me briefly share with you my personal story of how I found my passion!
I am sure you heard many times āDo what you love and you will find your true calling and passion!ā Please donāt listen to this, because this statement is not entirely true!
My mother was about my age, when she died. She was still young. Her life story was one of the reasons behind my calling.
You see, I found my true passion to empower people and especially women NOT only because I love helping others. If I just followed this advice ā do what you loveā, I would be helping people by becoming a doctor or a teacher. Many professions are designed to help others. Yet I specifically chose to coach, empower and train people to find their inner strengths.
Even now, when I talk about my mother, I feel sadness for her and her life filled with a lot of emotional and physical pain.
She had health issues for a long time. She did not feel much power in her marriage, and she lived many years with in laws and did not have a voice. I kind of repeated her steps and had very similar experience. I lived with my in-laws for more than a decade and often felt powerless too.
I thought it was karma of women in my family, but when I finally found answers in inspiring books 25 years ago, everything changed in my life.
I found my calling, and it was not in something that I loved doing, but mostly in something that evoked range of emotions in me. I even felt pain, anger and sorrow. It helped me to find what I was meant to do in life. I changed countries, professions, and people around me. I was focused on my dream and ultimate goal.
You see, being passionate about something is not just loving it. It could also make you upset, angry and sad that things are going wrong in certain area of peoplesā lives. You will feel hungry to learn more about this topic.
Going back to my story, I was not happy and my life was not fulfilling for many years. Once I found a way to empower myself and to exit the situation that made me feel trapped and unworthy, I was committed to devote my skills and talents to helping others find their inner strengths.
To find your true calling you need to look into your past, present and future. You need to find what stirs your emotions and ignites your curiosity. And thatās exactly what my test will help you to do.
Give it a try, you have nothing to lose!
With love,

INSPIRATIONAL STORIES BY GULNARA OMAR
SHOW THE WORLD HOW TO MAKE YOU HAPPY
⢠I was walking by the flower shop a few days ago and saw beautiful tulips of different colors. I stopped and stepped closer toward the bucket of fresh pink tulips. I felt that they were calling my name: āHey Gulnara, come closer, smell me, bring me home with you, I know you love beauty, I promise to draw even more beauty into your life and uplift your spirit every time you glance at me.ā ā whispered one pale pink tulip, sticking out tall from the bucket.
⢠A few minutes later, I was walking home with a bouquet of pink tulips in my hand wrapped into a brown craft paper. As I was trimming the stems and placing the flowers into a vase, I felt so happy. I thought to myself: āfor years I was walking by flower shops, and each time different flowers were calling me. Sometimes they were roses, other times daisies or peonies, I would walk by with the hope in my heart that someone else, someday would bring or send me a huge bouquet of flowers as an expression of love, or because they would know that flowers make me happy.
⢠A few years ago, I was passing by a flower shop and at that this time yellow roses were calling for me. That day, I decided to stop waiting and hoping that someone else would bring me flowers. I went ahead and bought them for myself. That was the day when I showed myself self-love with action.
⢠I loved love flowers, ever since I was little. Flowers is the first thing I notice wherever I go. Why couldnāt I buy them for myself before, I asked myself?
⢠I guess I was so mistaken thinking that if people loved me, they would give me what I want and what I like. What I forgot is that one of the most important people who should show me LOVE is actually ME.
⢠You probably heard the saying that love is not a noun it is a verb.
I have a question for you: if love is an action, then how many small or significant action steps do you take daily to show yourself love and appreciation?
⢠The day when I bought myself yellow roses, was the day when I first SHOWED myself that I deserved to be loved and to be surrounded by beauty. Now, if the flowers call upon me in the flower shop, I no longer walk away hoping that someone else will bring them to me, I directly go and buy them. Sometimes itās a big glamorous bouquet, sometimes itās a tiny and simple bunch of wildflowers, and there were days when I would buy just one flower. Itās not the number of flowers or the grandness of the bouquet that make me happy. Itās the fact that I bought them for myself and enriched my life with natural beauty ā¦
⢠If you love flowers, go and buy them for yourself. We mostly use flowers when we celebrate. You donāt need a special or particular reason to have flowers.
⢠No matter how challenging or puzzling your life might seem to your right now, please know that celebrating YOU and your life is a good enough reason!
⢠Explore yourself, get to know what you love and find a way to give it to yourself, be it a flower, a book, a dinner, or a course that you always wanted to obtain a new skill. You are responsible for discovering your authentic wants, the things that expand you and make you stronger.
⢠We teach people how to love us. When you show the world what you love by giving it to yourself, there is a very high chance that the world will follow your example and start showing you more love and appreciation ā¦
With love,
Gulnara Omar.
I really hope that this story, based on a real-life situation, will serve as a strong motivation for elders to believe that with a positive mind and simple daily exercise they can take charge of their health and start feeling stronger and happier day by day. The story tells how seeing and reading positive affirmations about health over and over impresses the subconscious mind to such a degree that it slowly starts transforming the body to align with the health thoughts. The story of my aunts proved me again that affirmations can be very useful and they do work with people, regardless of their age.
Enjoy listening, my friend!
With Love,
Gulnara Omar
