Episode 13 - Lisanne Iriks

Lisanne is a mediator and coach with over 15 years of experience working with separated parents working their way through conflict as a mediator and coach. Lisanne is passionate about helping people see beyond their conflict and what is important to them. Lisanne helps clients stay out of the court system and work on how to move forward as co-parents in a way that works for everyone, especially the children. Lisanne is a big believer in educating parents on the impact of their conflict and recognises that that conflict resolution is a skill everyone needs in their lives but that a lot of  people do not get taught how to do it effectively. This is why Lisanne has  a passion for mediation and teaching as she believes having conflict resolution skills provide people with more happiness and freedom.  
Lisanne teaches family dispute resolution to mediators and is a mentor to mediators Australia wide. Lisanne enjoys teaching mediation and conflict resolution at Universities, government departments and for corporate clients. 

Lisanne is the founder of Life mediation, Podcast host for Conversations to Cut the conflict and the Co-Founder of the Coparenting Institute.

A not for profit organisation that gives adults and children simple and effective tools to support young children’s mental health.

The Magic Coat Foundation sponsors this podcast to give parents/teachers and anyone working with children as much knowledge across many different areas within the space of families, child rearing, education, mental health and wellness. KAT6 syndrome is an extremely rare genetic neurodevelopment disorder that affects the KAT6 gene, altering the development of the brain and central nervous system.

Anita is a writer, speaker, advocate, creative and Mum to Zayn, Blakely and Daxton.In late 2020/early 2021 Anita was diagnosed with ADHD and separated from her husband. These two life changing events inspired Anita to start rediscovering who she was, and embrace all of the beautiful and messy parts of herself. She slowly found her voice and started sharing her story in the hope of helping others, especially women, who may be going through similar struggles, and didn't want them to feel alone. Anita's children also have ADHD and Anita spends a significant amount of time learning information, implementing strategies and teaching them how to live with ADHD positively and confidently.

Amelia is the mum of our first guest, Azizi Donnelly. Amelia, worked as a fashion designer for some of Australia’s most prestigious fashion houses, she started designing and sewing at the age of ten years old making clothes for her and her friends dolls. Amelia started her own fashion range at just sixteen years of age selling to local boutiques in the area.

At the age of eighteen Amelia fell in love and was married for sixteen and a half years to a man she loved deeply. Unfortunately, life circumstances saw them grow apart leaving Amelia with a young baby girl, Azizi. When Azizi was eleven years old Amelia remarried and had a beautiful son who she is still extremely close to today, but this marriage was fraught with difficulties and in this episode, Amelia shares the highs and lows of being a working, married mother to a man who did not support her dreams.

Katherine Sobczyk is currently travelling Australia in her caravan with her husband Stu and 3 little ones. 

 At 14, Kat lost her father suddenly. Kat’s dad worked so hard and never got to enjoy what he worked for.

Kat has been a paramedic for 15 years and has seen a lot. One thing that stuck with her is that tomorrow isn’t promised and we never know when our time is up.

With all this in mind, she and Stu began a life on the road travelling around Australia to spend quality time with their kids while they are still young. They have now been on the road 14 months and are loving every minute (nearly!)

The exposure from the show resulted in two successful headline tours through Germany in 2019 and 2020. Post Covid, Coby returned home to Perth and began a whole new journey - becoming a mum to her little boy Aubrey. A journey she has chosen to embark on as a single mother through the use of a sperm donor.
