Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual Growth in 2024
This is why I have set out a few goals for 2024 that are roughly outlined below and some of which are a work in progress or just need to be refined a bit as the year progresses:

Walk on hands 10 feet
Run a sub 6 minute mile
Carry a bodyweight sandbag for a marathon
Record and publish 52 podcasts
Continue and take a deeper dive into shamanic exploration
Turn into more of a part time farmer
Recent shamanic journeys into the lower world have revealed to me to start with blueberries, bees and bunnies, but more on that to come
Increase my levels of cold exposure
This can include duration, frequency and maybe variety

Now with these goals in mind I encourage you to begin to think about what it is in your life that you would like so that you can see what type of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth you can make in 2024 and beyond, because don’t forget that we are all on the journey of life together. This is not something that is a race to finish. That being said, enjoy the wins and celebrate them along the way. When you do have something make sure to savor it as all that we have around us is very special. Enjoy time exploring this, enjoy time with yourself and enjoy your time with loved ones. Health equals freedom and let us all stay free together!

Health Equals Freedom with Nick Horowski
It has come to my belief that Health Equals Freedom. I believe that JP Sears of Awaken with JP fame has mentioned the same thing and I completely agree for many reasons. It has actually become part of my political beliefs and this isn’t going to be overly political however to maintain freedom I do believe that you must maintain your health. This comes on many levels. Most people think of physical health first. This is greatly important. You must maintain strength and endurance physically to maintain your freedom or you will lose the ability to play with your kids or grandkids, take a great vacation, go for a hike, work in the yard, complete all of your housework, etc. etc. That and we must also be sure that we maintain our freedom if we should ever be under physical attack. This is important, but mental health is truly paramount and is a must to maintain both physical and emotional health freedom. The mind is more powerful than any “supercomputer” ever will be. The mind can control both our physical and emotional health in every aspect. Keep your mind strong and your physical and emotional health will follow. Do not neglect any of them and build your health like a pyramid. Make a wider and wider base and you can make it taller and taller. But never spread yourself too thin so that you do not topple over. Begin your journey, or keeps yours going today. This way you will never let anybody or any organization take control of you. There are many companies and governments out there trying to do so right now, but you can stand for you own health freedom. Health Equals Freedom!

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”- Napoleon Hill

Return of the Barenaked Health Podcast with Nick Horowski
Welcome back to the Barenaked Health Podcast. It has been a bit of a hiatus, but I am back to share with you all topics holistic health and freedom. Today I take a walk in the woods and water to spend some time in nature and share my thoughts on light, water, food, exercise, supplements just to name a few of the topics. I hope that you enjoy this listen. My plan is to start to share more with you this way. I try to get out in the woods a few times a week and some of them I plan to couple with a recording so that I can still share this with you as it brings me great joy to share some love with my listeners.

Here's a quick rundown on some of the topics:

Light

-Get more of it

-Build up to it slowly if you are not ready for it, just like you would anything else

-Avoid it at the end of the day

Water

-Spend time in natural bodies

-Drink plenty of it with Celtic Sea Salt or add some electrolytes like Paleo Valley

Food

-Eat real, whole foods

-Eat early in the day and less as the day goes on

Exercise

-Move a lot, most of the times easy to moderate and sometimes bust your butt

-Do as many different types of movement as you can and enjoy

Supplements

-Find what works and works for you

-Stick to your budget and use bang for your buck supplements

-Anything from Bioptimizers, whole food multivitamin, lots of magnesium, zinc, molecular hydrogen, shilajit, creatine and many more can really help you out.

Please enjoy the return of the show and as always please share with friends for those interested in holistic health and freedom. Any feedback is always welcome as I did ask for your help during the show as well.

My Take on Covid 19 and Standing Up for Yourself
After getting a lot of questions I wanted to give you my take on Covid 19 and standing up for yourself in general. This really was fun for me to record because it speaks to how much propaganda I have heard from friends, patients and clients that needs to be addressed about overall health. Here is the rundown:

My life barely changed
Covid 19 is real, people are sick and some are dying
Where did it start, who is behind it. Bill Gates, China, etc.
Where is the "regular flu" and the "average cold"
Masks- are they effective, breathing in CO2 and how they affect breathing patterns
Social distancing, social depression...LOVE PEOPLE!
Shutting down everything
Make your own decisions, we are adults!
If you have comorbidities, you should be scared of getting sick to begin with
Get Healthy Now
Domestic abuse/violence and suicides
Vaccine- Going to have to pass on this one. Normally takes 10-15 years, not a few months
I am not a virologist, I just think for myself
The stimulus package
More things to take away freedoms that will be very soon behind
What is FEAR: False evidence appearing real
Don't believe all the numbers from either side
What you can do to stay healthy during any time of your life
Sleep (quality, not just quantity)

Get outdoors
Exercise and breathe properly
Get your mind right
No sugar, no vegetable oils
Fasting
Vitamin D, Vitamin C (whole food and intravenous), zinc, selenium, nebulized food grade hydrogen peroxide, peptides

There you have it. My take on Covid 19 and standing up for yourself. Don't worry, there will be much more to come on all of these subjects in the future. I encourage you to take your life and health into your own hands and stand up for what you believe in, research it and change your mind if necessary as we all have more to learn.

Travis’ 2021 Health Plan- Pre Bedtime Eating, Probiotics and Digestion
Got on the line with a good friend of mine Travis Robbins and we discussed a new health plan for the 2021 year for him and called it of course Travis' 2021 Health Plan. With that in mind here is just a nice conversation of how much fun it can be working with somebody to really help them get their health back on track. Below are Travis' notes that he took that just seem to work well if you have any questions

Travis’ 2021 health plan

To Do

No meals inside of 3 hours before bedtime
Try to keep meat as far away from bedtime as possible
If you do eat meat, get some apple cider vinegar onboard 15 min before you eat the meat.
Try to keep your feeding window small, maybe noon-6pm
Eat more yogurt
Nancy’s Yogurt
Apple cider vinegar
Salt your water
Maybe use green tea to get more water
Get rid of sugar to decrease inflammation
Eat more pre-biotic foods - cold starches like potatoes an rice...
Never heard of this concept - pre-biotic. What is this? Why should I eat them? Why cold?
Feeds the gut bacteria. Cold because it helps the resistant starch to form
Drink more bone broth
A few teaspoons of Apple cider vinegar 15 min before meals can help with digestion. Also putting it on food can help.
HCL pills
Can I get a protocol for this? I know you talked about taking a bunch on a monday, but when else should I be eating these things?
Where do you get them from?
Start with one before a meal. Add 1 each time until you feel a warm sensation in your stomach and then back off 1 from there. If you need 5 to feel warmth then use 4 until you feel the warmth and keep titrating down
Chew your food more
Make a salad in the morning with apple cider vinegar and olive oil, wait till lunch to eat it so the vinegar breaks down the salad.
Proteolytic enzymes for general inflammation
Garden of life brand - can you get me a link?

What dosage and timing do you recommend?
Start with 3 on empty stomach first thing in morning and then 3 at night before bed. Work up to 5 or whatever you feel to be beneficial.

Biggest Lessons of 2020, Health Trackers and Standing Up for Beliefs
Now there could be 1,000,001 things that I could have put for lessons learned in 2020, but none of them would have been the biggest lessons of 2020. I had really missed podcasting and sharing health in this manner with you and so decided that it was time to bring it back and I am currently figuring out how to prioritize podcasting in my life to be able to bring at minimum weekly episodes out. In the meantime here is a quick rundown of what all I covered in this episode:

Don't hate on 2020
You probably won't look back in 20 years and say to yourself "Wow, I wish I would just lose a year of my life." No growth comes from hardship, so be  better for it.
Don't eat to close to bedtime
"Healthy" refined carbs still suck
Health trackers are a great starting place (I used Whoop and Oura)
They still can't replace learning/feeling/knowing yourself
Stand up for what you believe in
"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life." -Winston Churchill
Don't live in fear
Educate yourself: how to be healthy, vaccines, media, etc.
Vitamin D3, zinc, selenium, IV vitamin C, peptides, nebulized hydrogen peroxide
Move more throughout the day
You can fix everything into your life you want...if you prioritize
What I missed and or love
Family
Lifting
Outdoors
Archer
Sharing health (podcast, coaching, bodywork, living it)

Please check it out and let me know about your lessons that you learned in 2020 as well. We are all on this rock together so let's make it a better place together too! 2021 is certainly going to be a blast and I hope that you are looking forward to it. Set yourself up for a great year now by making sure that you love and live each day to the fullest.

The Holistic Playground with Jeff Brion
What a pleasure it was to be able to chat with Jeff Brion of The Holistic Playground about his adventures. Jeff and I met about 8 years back at an HLC 3 class with the one and only Paul Chek. After not really being in contact, I thankfully saw Jeff and all that he was doing with the Holistic Playground on social media and knew that we had to connect and share what he was doing.

As a C.H.E.K. Practitioner Jeff healed himself from many ailments including Ulcerative Colitis. His teachings are a comprised philosophy of holistic living principles to vibrate at one’s most optimal level. Through Jeff’s work with his clients he teaches a multi-disciplinary approach of physical integration, postural correction/strengthening, myo-fascial release/stretching, spinal decompression, mobilization techniques, mental-movement coordination, moving meditation and holistic lifestyle principles and nutrition. Jeff’s passion is healing through movement. His teachings evoke you to open your body to new cognitive movements so you may open your mind to new stages of awareness physically, mentally/emotionally and spiritually.
