Í kringum 1960 var rafmagn lagt til sveitabæja innst í Eyjafirði sem hluti af markvissri áætlun stjórnvalda um að rafvæða landið. Sölvadal var þó sleppt. Hann er einn af dölunum innst í firðinum og þar var búið á þremur bæjum. En hvaða afleiðingar átti sú ákvörðun eftir að hafa í för með sér?
