    The Pre-Vinylettes Podcast
    Meredith Kasabian
Welcome to Season 2 of the Pre-Vinylettes podcast, a show featuring women, trans, and nonbinary sign painters in conversation with me, Meredith Kasabian of Best Dressed Signs and the Pre-Vinylite Society. In this season, I connect with eight fellow sign painters from four countries to discuss signs, art, life, and what it’s like working in the historically male dominated (but increasingly equitable) field of sign painting and its associated arts. The episodes in Season 2 were recorded between December of 2024 and May of 2025. Hope you enjoy!

Savvy Painter Podcast with Antrese Wood
    Antrese Wood
Today, we’re talking about something that every artist encounters—but few talk about openly: rejection. Whether it’s a juried show, a gallery application, or simply putting your work on social media, the fear of hearing “no” often holds artists back in big ways. But here’s the truth: rejection isn’t the problem. It’s the meaning we attach to it that creates so much pain and paralysis. Antrese breaks down: Why rejection feels so intense—and why that’s totally normalThe science behind the physi...

Art · The Creative Process: Artists, Curators, Museum Directors Talk Art, Life & Creativity
Artists, Curators, Museum Directors Talk Art & Creativity · Creative Process Original Series
“I'm hopeful for revolution. I'm optimistic. I want radical change. I think there's such a disinterest in education in America that it is sickening. I think we are repeating history. We are going through a cycle of fascism and greed, and I think we're going to see a lot of states collapse. As a result of that, I think people are going to be forced back to their primal needs and concerns, but I think they're going to be forced to think about what makes us human. How do we become more human? Because we've lost that. We've given it up to technology. How can we figure out what makes us a really powerful species again?” Irvin Weathersby Jr. is a Brooklyn-based writer and professor from New Orleans. He is the author of In Open Contempt: Confronting White Supremacy in Art and Public Space. His writing has been featured in LitHub, Guernica, Esquire, The Atlantic, EBONY, and elsewhere. He has earned an MFA from The New School, an MA from Morgan State University, and a BA from Morehouse College. He has received fellowships and awards from the Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation, the Research Foundation of CUNY, the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, the American Council of Learned Societies, and the Mellon Foundation.
