In this episode of The Yogalebrity Podcast, I sit down with Kat to explore her unique yoga journey, the challenges she has overcome, and the lessons she has learned. We dive into the power of community, the importance of authenticity in teaching, and how embracing vulnerability can lead to deeper connections with students. Kat shares her insights on balancing a yoga career, personal growth, and the ever-evolving landscape of wellness.

About Kat:
Kat's yoga journey began in college when she started attending classes with friends, practicing on and off over the years. After having kids, yoga became a powerful tool for centering herself amidst a busy schedule. Wanting to deepen her understanding but unable to commit to in-person training, she pursued her 200-hour certification through online study. In 2021, she launched Coastal Calm Yoga, a company dedicated to providing eco-friendly yoga props, including custom-engraved cork blocks, therapy balls, and organic cotton straps. Coastal Calm Yoga is proudly certified as a California Green Business by the San Diego Green Building Council.
A turning point in Kat's journey came when she attended a class with Angelica at The Yoga Expo. Inspired by the experience, she later enrolled in Angelica’s online 300-hour teacher training, completing it in 2024. She even had the opportunity to teach at Angelica’s Sedona retreat. As someone who isn’t naturally flexible, Kat is passionate about making yoga accessible for all and encourages students to embrace props as valuable tools for support and growth in their practice.
