LEARN TO KEEP QUIET IN COMMUNICATION
I don't know how conversational you are in communication, but you need to know the exact time to keep quiet.
Now this is not about shading, this is just a simple communication ethics, especially if you are an MC, comedian, or communication enthusiast like myself.
Or your job has to do with talking and communicating
You need to know the exact time to keep quiet.
Why?
Because in the mood of expressing our mind
We always want to talk and talk and talk, and let people see the reasons
But we also need to know when to keep quiet, because when you talk and talk and talk, You won't know when you start speaking gibberish
Now what you don’t know is that the more you speak and try to impress people, the more common you appear to them
And the more common you appear, the less power and influence you have, over the conversation
So you must learn where to keep quiet and when to keep shut. When to allow other people to talk, and when to listen.
In one word, the less you speak, the less you are at risk of saying something foolish
Remember it is better to say “John, what do you have for us”
than to say “John, we’ve had enough”.
So choose the one you want.
Know when to keep quiet
Know when to listen to others
Know when to allow other people to talk.
And don't do all the talking all the time.
If you still want to have control of that conversation.
I hope you've gained something.

How much do you embrace your true self?
Do you also try to do what the society throws at you even if it will mar your authenticity?
Norma Hollis is an award-winning International speaker, Executive coach, Authenticity expert, Change agent and Former owner of a speaker bureau.
She is also the author of Blueprint for Engagement: Authentic Leadership, Ten Steps to Authenticity and The Process to Become a Professional Speaker, as well as multiple online classes and programs designed to help people rediscover their authentic self.
Norma discovered her Authenticity when she was 28.
She had done everything her parents and society had asked of her; she got married, a teaching job, cars, house and money in the bank.
On the outside, she had all the makings of what society believed would make a content and happy individual.
But on the inside, she was miserable. While Norma became her parents’ version of who they thought she should be, she realized she didn’t know who she truly was.
This started her on a 30-year quest of self-discovery.
Fast forward to today, Norma operates a successful coaching company and integrates her experiences into products and services that help you live a more authentic life and teach others to do the same.

Hello and welcome to Write and Speak better podcast with your host: Olalekan Mandela. I will like to kickstart this podcast with a common question; so let me ask you: Have you ever had a reason for taking a particular action?
Like have you sat down and ask yourself why you are taking a particular action? why did you go to college, ami doing this because I want to be this? Oh I want to be a lawyer because I want to help common people have a say in the country? etc..
I leave you with this question to ruminate as I invite our guest for today -An international public speaker and Coach from the Global Women Speakers with proven years of experience. Laurie Governor Curtis. She will speak on the same question I asked "The reason why you take a particular action': The question she asked herself before diving into public speaking.
You can find out more about her here at www.lauriegcurtis.com, or you can follow her up on all of her social media handles @Laurie Curtis for bookings and inquiries...

HOW DID I TELL A GOOD STORY IN MY PRESENTATION?
Following the five template of a good storytelling (With example) according to Coach Robinkermode...
1.) Once upon a time there was (e.g Mrs. X founded a company)
2.) They used to do this (She had a vision and started a woman-based company)
3.) Then something happened/Change (She was approached to sell off the company}
4.)So they do this because of that action (She thought about it and decided not to sell it)
5.) This is the result of what happened (Now, her company is the fastest growing beauty company in Asia)
CAN YOU MAKE UP A STORY ?
Yes! you can make up a story (Not real) in your speech or presentation, but with a touch of authenticity and relevant to what you are discussing....
Does your story need to always have a positive outcome or sweet ending so as to motivate your listeners/audience?
No. Your story should depend on the kind of emotion you are trying to portray as a speaker or Writer.
