I'm a self-confessed perfectionist trying to change from being a compulsive starter into a finisher in my creative projects, be they for personal hobbies or in a professional setting. After completing the 100 Day Project in 2020, I thought I'd go that bit further and share my learnings from conversations with friends from various creative backgrounds so that others can hopefully learn from them too.

Episode 8 - Janel Brandon: Chasing discomfort gives you power to grow, owning your mistakes gives you power to do what needs to be done.
Janel Brandon is a Senior Software Developer and Educator based in Brisbane, Australia. Having built a successful career at IBM in the U.S for 17 years, she found that the hard work she put in sometimes came at a cost to other people and aspects of her life. With the help of mentors and some introspection, she took the steps to find balance and has become a powerful mentor herself. I was fortunate enough to be a student of hers at Coder Academy in 2018, where her guidance was a highlight to my experience there, and it helped lay the foundation for my core skills I have been using on the daily as a Developer since. Thanks Janel! If you're based in Australia and are interested in a career in Tech, check out the courses available at; https://coderacademy.edu.au/ Janel is currently working in the team at: https://clipchamp.com/en/
