Caught in the Cecil: The Mysterious Death of Elisa Lam
Despite a history of murder, suicide, and having hosted at least two serial killers (Richard "The Nightstalker" Ramirez, and "Reformed" Jack Unterweger), the historic Cecil Hotel remained open for business as a hotel, a residential boarding house, and a hostel. On February 19 after numerous complaints about low water pressure, the decomposing body of a 21 year old missing Canadian student was found in a rooftop water tank. In this episode, Carls and Behn discuss the myriad of conspiracy theories that rose from the media storm, and, more importantly, talk about the strong woman that was that 21 year old student, Elisa Lam.

Episode 15: Judith "Yup Yup" Barsi's Tragic Death
Judith Eva Barsi's roles as Ducky in "The Land Before Time" and Anne-Marie in "All Dogs Go to Heaven" were foundations of our childhoods (well, at least those raised in the 80s and 90s). Yet, few probably recall that these two films were released posthumously. After years of threats from an alcoholic father, Jozsef Barsi carried through, and on July 28, 1988, Judith was found dead, along with her Mother and Father. The daughter of Hungarian immigrants, this American Dream ended in a terrible nightmare of family violence. In this episode, Carls speaks for the adorable Judith Barsi and her mother Maria, in this season 2 opener of Two Friends and a Coffin.

Episode 14: The Soapmaker of Italy (Leonarda Cianciulli, La Soponificatrice di Corregio)
What do you get when you cross a paranoid Italian mother with nothing to lose, sprinkle on a little blood magic, and three easily manipulated neighbors? Probably one of the most sensationalized cases in Italian true crime (and one which you likely haven't heard of), Behn and Carls bring you the story of "La saponificatrice di Corregio," Leonarda Cianciulli, "the soapmaker." In this possibly delicious episode, we speak for Ermelinda Faustina Setti (a lonely spinster pensioner), Francesca Clementina Soavi (a middle aged school teacher), and Virginia Cacioppo (a once lauded soprano opera singer, pining for her faded days of glory). AIDS: Gaetan Dugas, the "Patient Zero" that never was
To his friends, family, and colleagues, he was a warm and caring young man, filled with a vibrant Joie de Vivre. But, to the wider world, he became the facer of reckless irresponsibility, a caricature, the man who spread AIDS across the US, from California to New York. His name was Gaetan Dugas. To the rest of the world, he was simply known as "Patient Zero." In observance of World AIDS Day, Behn and Carls reexamine the controversy surrounding him. In speaking for Gaetan Dugas, they attempt to also speak for the 36 million men, women, and children, who have died from HIV related illnesses across the world since 1981.

The Bridgewater Triangle: Ape Men, Satanic cults, and Pukwudgies, oh my!
In 1983 Loren Coleman published "Mysterious America," in which he identified an abnormally high number of weird reports in a 200 square mile area of South Eastern Massachusetts that he coined "The Bridgewater Triangle." In this special episode, Behn and "ghost host" Palestina, regale Carls with their experiences growing up "pahking the cah" within the weirdness that was their home, the northern most corner of the Bridgewater Triangle. Hike the shore of Lake Nippenicket where Apemen and sasquatch can be found. Watch the skies of the South Shore and spot the lights of UFOs. Walk on Pokanoket-Wompanoag land where murdered sachems and the creator god murdering Pukwudgies are said to still roam; and finally, beware of entering Freetown State Forest where weird cult murders, animal mutilations, and suicides have happened.

"The Kindly Killer": Britain's Jeffrey Dahmer, Dennis Nilsen
In 1983 a plumber found human flesh and bone blocking the drain pipes of a home in North London. After questioning the polite, kindly man living in the 3rd floor flat, investigators were horrified to find that these were the remains of 3 victims, their flesh boiled, cleaved from their bones, and then flushed down the toilet. Nearly a decade before Jeffrey Dahmer, the necrophile Dennis Nilsen would go on to become known as the most notorious killer in British history (after Winston Churchill, of course...). In this episode, Carls, Behn, and their special guest, Vicky, remember the 15 victims of "The Kindly Killer."
