Welcome to "The Third Mind" - A podcast that examines the world of supervision in transactional analysis psychotherapy. I am Aruna Gopakumar, a provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst. In each episode, we present a supervision session – a dialogue between a therapist and supervisor where the therapist reflects on their lived experience with a client. Therapists talk about their questions, stuckness, mistakes and ethical dilemmas and think together with me about them. Each session is followed by a discussion with other psychotherapy trainees, to apply theory to practice.

What is your remit as a therapist? Apart from dealing with these questions, this episode highlights inner conflicts that can be created for therapists when their values differ from those of their clients, and what they can do about it
