The Sound of Ankush
suna hai log use aankh bhar ke dekhte hai

The Sound of Ankush
the keys to my house

She called my name thrice,

I could hear it the first time

I sensed a trembling in her voice

All she said was, that she is fine

It came crushing down my spine

How could things get ruined, by just one line?

Maybe she prayed to all the sins, that I had in my closet

I prayed to what I had left in my wallet

The coin of despair, I never call on heads.

Tails, is what it always shows, there’s more than what’s left

A broken heart, is not what you should get, she poured

Your name is like blood on a sword,

The keys to my house, I left them at your door,

Our bodies could part, but what about the soul?

What about it? she said

I lost my self somewhere in your head.

She called my name again

This time, I could only see the pain.

Where were you all this while,

Your coin of despair, I’ll buy it, if you smile.

I can’t smile, No more,

The keys to my house I left them at your door

nostalgia

what makes you feel nostalgic?

somebodies touch? the smell of the rain on dry soil; petrichor?

childhood?

the next time you feel nostalgic or nostalgia visits you, with a wave of regret, and longing, promise yourselves to make the best out of every moment. So when it does come, it leaves all the regrets outside the door.

Yu Hi Be-sabab Na Phira Karo - Bashir Badr

This one is close to my heart.

The moment we seek perfection, we lose emotion in that process. This recording happened, one take and only one. You might find incorrect pronunciations. But there's something about it that's perfect too.

Kis Tarah Chhor Du Tumhe Jaana - John Elia

Kis tarah chhor do tumhe jana, tum meri zindagi ki aadat ho.

Kis liyen dekhti ho aaina, tum to khud se bhi khubsurat ho.

No matter how many times I read this, or listen to it. It always feels new. The word of John Elia are immortal, they will always stay within me. Today is his 91st Birthday, and on this, I want to share this, a part of me.

Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein

This is one of my favourite pieces of writing. Well, I have an obsession with listening to good writing in my voice. I know Bachhan Sahab did it way better than I did. I tried, and I enjoyed recording this. If you by any chance find this to be amazing. Write me something on Instagram. You can also, be exclusively demanding! I would love to read out your poetry, and stories.

Instagram, if you may @ankush_fx

Kabhi kabhi mere dil main khayal aata hain
Ki zindagi teri zulfon ki narm chhaon main guzarne pati
to shadab ho bhi sakti thi.

Yeh ranj-o-gham ki siyahi jo dil pe chhayi hain
Teri nazar ki shuaon main kho bhi sakti thi.

Magar yeh ho na saka aur ab ye aalam hain
Ki tu nahin, tera gham teri justjoo bhi nahin.

Guzar rahi hain kuchh iss tarah zindagi jaise,
isse kisi ke sahare ki aarzoo bhi nahin.

Na koi raah, na manzil, na roshni ka suraag
Bhatak rahin hai andheron main zindagi meri.

Inhi andheron main reh jaoonga kabhi kho kar
Main janta hoon meri hum-nafas, magar yoonhi
Kabhi kabhi mere dil main khayal aata hai.

Mujhse Pehli Si Mohabbat - Faiz Ahmed Faiz

Teri aankhon ke siwan duniya me rakha kya hai?

I remember looking into her eyes and giving myself to her. Even today when I close my eyes, I can see your eyes in front of me looking into mine.

This line in itself is a painting of her beautiful eyes.

For the unforgotten love. For the unconditional love, for the love of her eyes, and the parting. I want to say Mujhse Pehli si Mohabbat mere Mehboob naa Maang, Aur Bhi dukh hain Zamaane mein Mohabbat ke siwaan.
