In this episode, Producer Rachel sits down with Terry Grahl, founder and CEO of Enchanted Makeovers, a nonprofit that transforms shelters for women and children escaping trauma through shelter transformations, handmade dolls, superhero capes, sacred sewing rooms, and so much more.
Terry shares how a single volunteer moment at a shelter turned into a lifelong mission. From interior decorator to national advocate for female homeless veterans, survivors of trafficking, and families in crisis, her story is one of faith over fear, action over overwhelm, and believing in the quiet power of beauty, creativity, and imagination to heal.
At every pivotal moment, Terry chose to move forward, without a full plan, without certainty, just a willing heart and a firm belief that the next step would reveal itself. This episode is a powerful reminder that while fear is always an option, so is faith. How we respond in those defining moments shapes the path ahead.
This is more than a story about giving back—it’s about reclaiming purpose, creating belonging, and using what you already have to create real change. It’s about shifting mindsets, tapping into imagination, and giving people permission to dream and heal. Terry doesn’t just transform physical spaces—she helps people see what’s possible for their lives.Learn how one woman:

What does it take to have your name added to a legacy morning show after 20 years in radio?
In this episode, I sit down with Eric Rowe—Executive Producer and cast member of Houston's top-rated Roula & Ryan Show with Eric. We go behind the curtain of what really keeps a radio show alive, relevant, and top of mind in the age of TikTok, YouTube, and AI.
Eric opens up about his unlikely journey from growing up on a farm in Illinois to becoming one of the few executive producers in history to have his name added to a major market morning show. We talk about producing chaos, team dynamics, the power of vulnerability in broadcasting, and why great radio is anything but easy.
This episode is a masterclass in longevity, branding, and staying human in a tech-driven media world.
Topics we cover:
-Why Eric's name was added to the show after 20+ years
-How producers are often the unseen engine of radio
-Behind-the-scenes planning of show bits and segments
-The truth about radio layoffs and why you need a backup plan
-Why community, live calls, and listener connection still matter-
If you’re a creator, radio fan, podcaster, or media nerd—this one's for you.

⚠️ Trigger Warning: This episode includes discussion of childhood abuse and trauma. Please listen with care.
In this powerful and deeply personal conversation, I sit down with JoJo Dries, founder of On The Wings of Angels, a nonprofit supporting survivors of abuse.
Her story is one of unimaginable pain—but also one of resilience, truth, and transformation. We talk openly about her experience with years of physical and mental abuse from her father, the complex emotional aftermath, and how she now helps others reclaim their voice and their worth.
I first met JoJo after her TEDx Detroit talk and was immediately struck by her raw courage and unwavering mission to help others. In this interview, she trusted me enough to go even deeper. This is not an easy listen—but it is an important one. Her honesty and advocacy are saving lives.
To anyone listening who has felt "crazy" or questioned their reality after trauma—JoJo’s message is clear: You’re not crazy. Yes, it did happen. And you deserve healing.

In this episode, I sit down with Jessica Woodbeck, the powerhouse CEO of Thrive Realty, who’s not just building a business — she’s building leaders. We talk about what it really means to lead without burning out — the mindset shifts required when you're scaling, hiring, and still trying to show up authentically. One of the biggest takeaways? Accepting that no one will be 100% you — and that’s okay.Because leadership isn't about cloning yourself. It's about freeing yourself to lead.Jessica shares how she built a culture of safety and support at Thrive Realty, why content creation is non-negotiable if you want to stand out, and how she personally battled the fear of judgment to show up online through thousands of videos, blogs, and posts — heart fully in it.She reminds us: your story matters. And the more you resist sharing it, the more you risk getting left behind. If you're a visionary leader, a burnt-out entrepreneur, or just tired of trying to be everything to everyone — this conversation is for you.Work with Jessica:Jessica@ThriveRealtyCo.comhttps://www.instagram.com/jesswoodbeck/Learn more about Jessica Woodbeck and Thrive Realty: https://thriverealtyco.com/ABOUT PRODUCER RACHEL:Brands hire me to create content that converts.Contact me here for more info on what I can offer you or your brand:https://www.sandgmediagroup.com/Ready to level up your content game? When I joined Detroit’s Channel 955 in 2007 as Executive Producer of the morning show, one of the first people to welcome me was Evan Paul—then known as "Big Boy" on the night shift. At nearly 400 pounds, he was larger than life in every way, but what stood out more than his size was his kindness, work ethic, and passion for radio. Fast forward, and Evan is now the nationally syndicated host of Taste of Country Nights, heard on over 130+ country radio stations across the U.S.
During an interview with Evan, a year ago, Jelly Roll opened up about wanting to get healthier, and Evan shared the exact foods he eats and the mindset shift that helped him lose over 200 pounds. "As Evan put it, ‘You’ll start losing weight when you know it’s time—when you know, you know.’ Could Evan have sparked something in Jelly Roll? It sure sounds like it!
👉 In this episode, we go behind the mic to talk about:
✅ How to survive the unpredictable world of radio
✅ What it takes to land (and keep) a nationally syndicated show
✅ Why country music has the most loyal fans
✅ The reality of moving city to city for radio gigs
✅ How Evan lost 200+ pounds and reinvented his life
✅ Advice for radio hosts, podcasters, and content creators navigating industry changes
✅ His recent conversation with Jelly Roll—and how Evan may have inspired him to start his own weight loss journey!
Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and drop a comment if you’ve ever worked in radio or chased a dream!

FROM VIRAL TO PAID!
Alicia McCarvell went from posting a single viral video to building an entire brand—and she’s never looked back. In this episode, I sit down with Alicia to talk about the strategy behind her success, the mindset shifts that helped her grow, and the business moves that turned her passion into profit. She shares how she expanded her brand into multiple income streams, transitioned from trade deals to paid partnerships, and went from viral sensation to sustainable monetization.
For any creator looking to turn content into a full-time career, this conversation is packed with insights you won’t want to miss.
Make a Brand Hit List – Write down the brands you already use and love. If it’s part of your daily life and aligns with your audience, it’s a natural fit for sponsorship.
Co
ld Pitch with Confidence – Don’t wait for brands to come to you. Reach out via email or DM, introduce yourself, and explain why you’re a great fit. You bring value—own it.
Show, Don’t Just Tell – When pitching, include past examples of content featuring similar products. If you don’t have any, create organic content first to show how you’d naturally integrate their brand.
Start With Smaller Collabs – If you’re new to brand deals, start with gifted collaborations, but make it clear you’re working toward paid partnerships. Once you show results, brands will be more willing to invest.
Negotiate Like a Pro – Don’t accept the first offer. Ask about budget, licensing, exclusivity, and usage rights. If they say there’s no budget, ask, “When do you expect to allocate funds for influencer marketing?”
Turn One Deal Into Many – Overdeliver on the first collab, then pitch a long-term partnership. Brands prefer ongoing relationships over one-off posts.
Leverage Your Audience Data – Brands care about engagement more than follower count. Share your audience demographics, reach, and performance metrics to prove your influence.
Know Your Worth – If a brand wants free work, remember: exposure doesn’t pay the bills. Set your rates based on your time, effort, and audience value. Use tools like Clara for Creators or FYPM to benchmark fair pricing.
Stay Professional & Personable – Your pitch should be clear, short, and to the point, but don’t be afraid to add personality. Brands want creators who are easy to work with.
Follow Up & Stay Persistent – If a brand doesn’t respond, follow up in a week. If they say no, check back in a few months. Consistency is key in building relationships.
Have Financial Cushion to Protect Your Brand – Put enough money away so you never feel pressured to say yes to a brand or sponsorship that doesn’t align with your values. There’s power in saying NO, and it’s much easier when you’re not desperate for a paycheck. Long-term credibility beats short-term cash.

From Contest Winner to Radio Legend | Tom Sullivan’s Adventures in Radio
Tom Sullivan’s journey in radio is the ultimate example of saying yes and creating your own opportunities. He started as a self-proclaimed contest prize pig, calling into radio stations and winning so often that one finally hired him—to be the WQXI Quixie Quacker. From there, he worked his way up, eventually becoming the adventure guy for Steve & Vikki on Star 94, pulling off some of the best street stunts in radio.
But Tom didn’t just make a name for himself—he helped others do the same. He played a key role in giving Ryan Seacrest his start in radio at Star94, helping him break into the industry long before he became a household name.
I had the absolute pleasure of working with Tom from 2005-2007 as the Producer for the Steve & Vikki morning show on Star94. He made me laugh every single day, and I always walked into work with a smile.
A special thank you to Steve McCoy and Vikki Locke for giving me the opportunity to be part of their team. Steve is currently in hospice battling Parkinson’s disease, and our love goes out to him and his family. ❤️
When Tom isn’t on the air, he’s working as a host and emcee for corporate and charity events in the Atlanta area and around the USA.

The Realities of Content Creator Life w/ Anna Przy
Being a content creator isn’t all brand deals and viral moments—it’s a grind, and Anna Przy knows it firsthand. In this episode, we dive into the highs and lows of life as a creator, from navigating burnout to finding balance. Anna also shares the inspiration behind her new book, what it’s like taking her work to live audiences, and the daily commitment of her Patreon-exclusive show, 5 More Minutes.
One of the biggest takeaways from our conversation? Anna changed the way I approach content creation. When she explained that the person she’s really talking to in her videos is herself, it clicked. Instead of chasing engagement, I’ve started focusing within—creating for me first. If you’ve ever struggled with what to post or who you’re speaking to, this episode might just shift your perspective too.
🔹 The truth about the content creator hustle
🔹 Behind-the-scenes of Anna’s book journey
🔹 What it takes to create a daily Patreon show
🔹 The experience of live performances & connecting with audiences
🔹 A mindset shift that changed the way I create

Decades in radio, countless lessons—this chat is long overdue. Jeff Dauler and I have been circling the same industry for years—same markets, same radio world, even the same host at different times. Now, we finally sit down to unpack everything we’ve learned about podcasting, branding, and making content that actually pays off.
Jeff Dauler, a former major market radio producer turned podcast consultant, joins me to break down everything from finding your niche to landing big local sponsors—and trust me, I’m still trying to process all the ideas he threw at me. If you’ve ever wondered how to package what you do in a way that actually makes money (or why your podcast isn’t getting the traction you want), this episode is for you.
🔹 How to leverage radio sales skills in the podcast world
🔹 Why packaging your content right changes everything
🔹 How to make big sponsors take you seriously
🔹 The mindset shift that puts success (or failure) on you
This one’s packed with insight, strategy, and a little bit of tough love. Hit play, take notes, and let’s level up together.
