This episode gave me goosebumps — and you’ll understand why soon.
Today, I’m speaking with the identical twin sisters Cipriana Quann and TK Wonder, hosts of the Chew on Something podcast and founders of Urban Bush Babes, a lifestyle platform celebrating the multi-faceted lives of women of color.
Cipriana is a former Vogue writer; TK Wonder is a rapper and singer who’s opened for artists like Nas and Afrika Bambaataa. Together, they’ve starred in campaigns for Fendi, Valentino, Tiffany & Co., Sephora, and more.
I first saw them years ago in New York City during my Condé Nast days — two striking women shaping culture and fashion. I never imagined that years later, they’d be sitting on The New Health Club podcast couch in Denver with Joe Moore from Psychedelics Today and me, sharing one of the most powerful healing stories I’ve ever heard.
Cipriana and TK open up about surviving sexual, physical, and childhood abuse — and how, for years, they used sugar and comfort food to numb the pain. Their discovery of Ibogaine, a plant medicine known for its deep psychological healing, completely transformed their relationship with their bodies and their health.
This is a story about sisterhood, resilience, and the power of psychedelics to help us finally face what we’ve been running from — and heal for good.
In this episode:
How trauma shapes our relationship with food
The healing potential of Ibogaine
From fashion icons to wellness voices
What real transformation looks like after trauma
✨ How we used food to numb our trauma — and how Ibogaine helped us heal from it.

Hadas Alterman is an attorney who co-founded Plant Medicine Law Group, the first psychedelic industry focused law firm. She helped shape the legal psychedelic frameworks in Colorado and Oregon and the professional standards for psychedelic-assisted therapy. She is also working as a the director of legislative strategy for Stand With Us. Our topic today is how we can tolerate and accept very different world views in a conversations. In these times, this seems to be the number one talent we need to come up with human being. So how can psychedelic journeys contribute to this and have us tolerate messy conversations and understand the other camp?

Dr. Leor Roseman, Senior Lecturer and Psychedelic Researcher at the University of Exeter, has explore this avenue. His study “Relational Processes in Ayahuasca Groups of Palestinians and Israelis” a few years ago, was fascinating.I read about it in 2021, (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8170481/) and we recorded the first podcast. To me the idea made a lot of sense. Now, with the urgency amid the current situation after October 7th, his work seems more important than ever. In his scientific work Leor examines how psychedelics can serve as peacemaking tools by altering consciousness through a biopsychosocial lens, incorporating neuroscience, psychology, anthropology, and phenom enology. With a background at the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London, under Prof. Robin Carhart-Harris and Prof. David Nutt, Leor was curious how psychedelics now can deliver a new peacemaking tool. His foundation Ripples, a non-profit dedicated to peace building supported by psychedelics, is now researching new ideas around understanding, without ignoring the actual conflict. The urgency right now is on the Israel and Palestine Conflict. But his work can be valid for other conflicted parties too.

Today’s episode is particularly special. I recorded this session in our hotel room studio during the Psychedelic Science Conference in Denver. The duo you’ll hear shortly is truly exceptional in their efforts to destigmatize psychedelics, a movement gaining significant momentum right now.
My guests are Professor Rachel Yehuda and Governor Rick Perry. Professor Rachel Yehuda is the Director of the Parsons Research Center for Psychedelic Healing at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. She plays a pivotal role in pioneering psychedelic research related to veterans and PTSD.
Governor Rick Perry is a prominent American politician and the former governor of Texas. He also served as the 14th U.S. Secretary of Energy from 2017 to 2019. Perry has argued that ibogaine could be an incredible treatment for addiction and PTSD in veterans and has dedicated himself to advancing the public understanding and acceptance of psychedelics. In this episode, we discuss the evolving landscape of psychedelics in the United States, exploring why a bipartisan approach could be a powerful solution for rescheduling psychedelics and expanding access to healing therapies nationwide.

Check out this episode, it's fun and very insightful.

In this conversation Marissa Feinberg and me explore the intersection of psychedelics and climate action, discussing how psychedelics can foster a sense of oneness with nature and help alleviate eco-anxiety. We delve into the growing recognition of eco-anxiety in psychology, the shift of climate issues from fringe to mainstream, and the role of youth activism through movements like Fridays for Future. The discussion also touches on the importance of community, the impact of personal choices on climate guilt, and the transformative potential of psychedelics in fostering compassion and empathy towards the environment.
We also explore the intersection of climate action and psychedelics, discussing the challenges of climate messaging, the importance of community and personal connections, and innovative solutions to environmental issues. So how can psychedelics facilitate self-discovery and a reconnection to nature, while also emphasizing the need for localized climate initiatives and collective healing. This dialogue highlights the urgency of accelerating consciousness shifts to inspire meaningful climate action.

This conversation with Talia Eisenberg and Tom Feegel from Beond delves into the evolving landscape of Ibogaine as a treatment for addiction and mental health issues. We discuss the increasing mainstream acceptance of Ibogaine, its cultural and spiritual significance, and the unique experiences it offers compared to other psychedelics. And we emphasize the importance of understanding both the scientific and traditional contexts of Ibogaine, as well as the personal journeys individuals undergo during treatment.
We discuss the importance of community support in the healing process, the challenges of navigating relationships post-recovery, and the need for a deeper understanding of addiction as a response to underlying pain. Finally, we share the vision for the future of Beyond, emphasizing the need for expanded access to effective healing technologies and the importance of research and policy change. And we discuss a topic on the rise: addiction.
Here are the most important takeaways:
Ibogaine’s Growing Acceptance – It is becoming more mainstream with significant potential for addiction and PTSD treatment.
Deep Healing & Reset – Ibogaine offers a unique, long-lasting journey (up to 48 hours) that resets brain chemistry and supports emotional healing.
Cultural & Spiritual Significance – Understanding its roots and integrating both clinical and spiritual aspects is essential.
Commitment to Change – True healing requires a willingness to transform, reframe identity, and navigate shifts in relationships.
Community & Support – Peer support and shared experiences enhance the healing journey and prevent isolation.
Addiction & Trauma Connection – Addiction often stems from emotional pain, trauma, or spiritual disconnection.
Expanding Access – Healing technologies should be democratized, integrated into healthcare, and backed by research and data sharing.

Today I am talking to Patrick de Jongh founder of "When Nature Calls” in Amsterdam: you could say the fanciest smart shop in Amsterdam, hands down.
But it is more than a smart shop. The store shows how a stylish and modern place to sell innovative wellness products can look like.
No old and dusty space cakes here! Patrick founded “When Nature Calls” 26 years ago, and has been on a mission to disrupt and challenge the wellness industry to offer more to society ever since. The store in Amsterdam carries a great selection of functional mushrooms, truffles and innovative products from the new wellness industry. Microdosing for example has become an integral part of Patrick's wellness routine, helping him to stay more mindful and motivated. In the last 26 years he become an expert in developing a new idea around mushrooms related and psychedelic welllness.
Now the store is expanding, tuning into a first version of future wellness center with products and treatments.
