The Power of Connection
We live in a world where we can be so informed and involved in others lives but still be isolated and disconnected. Celeste comes onto the messy message with a fire and a passion for genuine friendship and connection. We are not meant to endure life’s ups and downs on our own and she gives us the tools and insight to form true relationships and maintain them. Wether you are in isolation and need to connect with others or you are already connected but it’s time to be intentional and seek out the one (the isolated sheep of the pack), this episode is for you.

The Struggle is Real Part 2
In Part One we discussed how to cope during our struggle and how to view hardships in a more healthy way. During Part Two, we will take a look into the book of Job and take a 3 part perspective of God, Job and Job’s friends; it’s the 3 view points we have labeled The Sovereign (God), the Afflicted (Job) and the Doubters (Job’s wife and friends). When facing hardship we need the Word of God and the power of praying friends and family. We were never made to suffer alone. But we need people in our lives that are going to be in unity with God on our behalf. As we dive into the book of Job, we see how the people he needed most, weren’t the most encouraging. Job himself lost the ability to hope at times. His wife told him to curse God and die. Job felt the heaviness of suffering and wanted answers when what he needed was for God to embrace him in the midst of his pain. He needed friends to lament with him and point him to the Lord instead of away from Him. Who are your friends during the tough seasons? Are they prayer warriors or doubters? Do you acknowledge God as the One True Sovereign God? Do you trust Him in the midst of all your personal chaos? Friends, God is faithful! He will never contradict Himself nor will He ever forsake you. We all suffer but God has a message for us in those hard times. It’s our faith that brings us close to know more of who He is focusing on Him instead of what we want Him to do for us.

Rest
Are you tired? Are you running on fumes? Do you feel like 24 hours is not enough? In God’s original design we see Him modeling rest. He shows us how to have a true work/life balance by creating the earth in six days and declaring the seventh a day of rest. Life can be so fast paced and rest usually takes a backseat, but we can trust in God’s plan. So take a break with us as we explore what it truly means to Rest in Jesus.

The Struggle is Real Part 1
Suffering is not generally associated with blessings. In fact, it’s often believed if you’re suffering you’re not blessed. The purpose of this episode is to debunk that theory. When we are hurting it can be challenging to look at it as a gift or even see brighter days ahead. The truth is, struggles no matter how big or small come to us more as an inconvenience than anything. But with God no pain is ever wasted. No hardship goes unnoticed. As Christians our suffering is refinement. It’s an opportunity for God to show us compassion and love for us. It’s also His way of showing up in ways only He can. In part 1 of this episode Alexis and Berly discuss three main points of suffering: 1. It’s not personal 2. Don’t keep it to yourself 3. God is revealing more of Himself to you If we shift our perspective of suffering in this light, we will understand God so much better in tough times. Let’s face it, we will all go through or have gone through difficult times, it’s almost inevitable. But going through life with God is way better than going through life without Him.

Holding on to the Promise
Have you ever felt like God broke a promise? We’re you ever in a position that you believed God would make it all better, but your situation got worse? Well, Pastor Patricia Davis was in that position when she suddenly found herself in the middle of a divorce with 3 children and a career change making significantly less money. Patricia tested God with her finances, expecting God to fail her. What she actually found was that God was her provider and He had been faithful in the past, present, and future. So if you need a reminder of how God is trustworthy and faithful, come and listen to this testimony.

The Truth That Sets You Free

Karina is currently a missionary in the Dominican Republic and has experience with syncretism. Syncretism is the intermingling of different belief systems. Many times when we come to Jesus we bring our world views with us and try to fit our narrative into the word of God, but He makes all things new. We must be willing to take God’s word as it is. The truth that sets us free but can be hard to digest at times. We pray that this episode equips you with the truth of God’s word and brings freedom to the areas of your life that may need it.

Shameless
We are all given free will to choose which way we live our lives. We can choose life or death, light or darkness, mediocre or abundance; the choice is yours. Our co-host Alexis found herself at the fork in the road. Will she continue to live life her way or will she choose life God’s way? Spoiler alert, she chose God. But it didn’t come easy just because she said “Yes” to God. She had been living a life where her “yes” to God meant a lot of things would shift not just for her but the people around her including her long time “boyfriend”. In His sovereignty, God knew He could use whatever mess she had created for her life for good and His glory… He was just waiting for her to realize that. Through growth and transitions, Alexis began to see the light. But the enemy tried to use her alertness of a life renewed to keep her in the shadow of her past, thrusting her into shame. God wouldn’t let it happen. Listen in as Alexis shares her very own redemptive story. Maybe you can relate to feelings of shame for one reason or another. Shame is not of God. He desires freedom for us! There is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.

Predestined
We had the privilege of sitting down with Pastor Debbie Altman, a fearless leader and the wife of our lead pastor, Pastor Craig Altman. Pastor Debbie speaks beautifully about her adoption story and the pursuit that God had on her life. She was predestined by God to be used in such an amazing way. Being born into an “unlikely” situation could not and would not hinder God’s calling on her life. Pastor Debbie’s story is proof of what amazing things God can do with our struggles and hardships. He uses our rough spots to bless others. You may be thinking that your life isn’t useable by God. You may think that your hardships are personal and no one can be blessed by your mess. But God says He has so much more in store for you and for His glory.

The Peace of God
You can turn on the news at any given time and hear the most tragic situations. There’s crime, death, accidents and catastrophes. And there is an unbelievable and surreal reality that takes place when that same tragedy meets you at your doorstep. Tracie, a mother of four lived that unforeseen tragedy as she was informed of the death of her only son. There are very little words that express the pain, hurt, and agony that comes with loss especially when a parent loses a child. Tracie could only expect the struggle of getting through this pain, but God is always so faithful. She explains during her time of grieving and bouts with depression it was the Peace of God that got her through. It wasn’t easy but her Heavenly Father kept her close to show her His love for her and her son throughout each day. We know loss looks and feels different for each person. Our prayer is that hearing this testimony gives light and perspective to anyone traveling what feels like a dark path.

I Am Okay
There is no secret that pregnancy can be filled with a mixture of joy, excitement, what-ifs, nervousness, fear and a compilation of all things in between. While carrying her very first child, our guest Patrice got news that would change her life forever. This news not only met her with a broken heart but unbeknownst to her it would bring her the biggest reward. Parenting a child with special needs is no walk in the park. Patrice gets candid about the moments of fears and ultimately the pursuit of God’s promises that gave her and her husband the strength to keep moving forward. Even in our hardest of times, God shows His children His heart and rewards our faithfulness when circumstances tell us we shouldn’t have faith at all. Being “okay” when times are tough is a form of contentment in God’s will. It doesn’t mean it’s easy or that things make sense but it does mean that we have chosen to trust God and His promises over what we want for our lives. It’s acknowledging that God is sovereign and the one and only Almighty. As you join us during this podcast, allow God to do a heart check in you. That’s exactly what Patrice did. And once she did, she realized she indeed was “okay”. Not because she was confident in herself, but because she was authentically okay with fully trusting GOD. In your circumstances today, are you okay?
