Hi, 👋 Welcome to The Guitaring Show. Thanks for tuning in!
In this weeks episode, I take a look at the Tom Bukovac Kemper Profiles by 3rd Power Amplification. These profiles belong to the Hitmakers Volume One Kemper Profile Pack and they are killer! From cleanish to pushed amp tones, the Hitmaker Volume One pack is a collection of over 70 profiles, expertly capturing the sound of three prized amps belonging to Nashville session man, Tom Bukovac.
Amps used are:
1) 1968 Marshall 100W Super Bass
2) 1968 Silver-face Fender Princeton 110
3) 1990 Matchless C30
If you own a Kemper these profiles are well worth a look. They have fast become my go-to profiles not only because they sound and feel amazing but they require little to no tweaking. I'm still learning my way around the Kemper Profiler so having some plug n' play profiles ready to go is good news :)
The guitar I'm using is the fabulous sounding Phoenix by Leigh Guitars, fitted with McNelly Sparkletrons, and boy do they sparkle!
👇Which profile or amp was your favourite?👇

Today we review a Classic Delay Pedal. The Line 6 DL4.
Hi, 👋 Welcome to The Guitaring Show. Thanks for tuning in!
It's a digital delay that looks analogue and recreates the classic sounds of vintage analogue delay units and pedals. But what's so great about the Line 6 DL4 and why is it still seen on so many players pedalboards? Watch our pedal review on this green machine to see why we think this remains such a popular delay pedal.

Hi, 👋 Welcome to The Guitaring Show. Thanks for tuning in!
Justin Yap is a Melbourne blues, soul and funk guitarist. He is a founding member of the hard-working band Rambal and he's a super-nice guy. What was meant to be a crash-course in playing the blues turned into something way more compelling!
In a crude attempt to get me 'gig ready' for a Blues jam I decided to get Justin into The Guitaring Show HQ to give me some killer tips that I could take to the stage. It was a simple idea. A simple idea wrapped inside my selfish motives to be a better blues guitarist! But Justin saw through my pathetic ruse. I soon learned that the true mark of a great player is not simply the notes played, but the intention to deliver a performance that compels a response from the listener based on the emotions that fuelled each note. Or to put it more simply, to 'be in the moment'.
So come with me on this journey as I once again get schooled on how to be a better guitarist and musician!
👇 Is there a piece of performance advice that has helped shape you as a player?👇

Hi, 👋 Welcome to The Guitaring Show. Thanks for tuning in!
Today we're trying to keep up with Anthony Taylor, country music guitarist as he blazes through some crazy licks and country riffs!
Last week Anthony was kind enough to stick around to show me how he constructs his country guitar solos. He has a lot of tricks up his sleeve, as you will see! I tried hard to keep up, hoping some of the chicken pickin' goodness would rub off on me :)
Turns out, I've got a lot of work to do!
👇 Anthony shared his views on what makes a gig special for him. Do you have a memory of a gig where everything came together? Or do you have any suggestions on how to ensure a gig is always great? Comment below👇

Hi, 👋 Welcome to The Guitaring Show. Thanks for tuning in!
Today we're chatting with Anthony Taylor, country music guitarist and singer.
It was a sweltering day in early February when I met Anthony in The Guitaring Show car park. I had been trying to tee up this interview for sometime but the touring musician can be a very elusive breed! I've known Anthony for quite a few years but I reckon this was the longest we have ever chatted, specifically about his life as a session and touring musician.
I honestly had a blast and found the discussion super interesting. We got to chat about his guitar gear, the importance of compression to his sound, what makes a gig great plus much, much more. Anthony really is one of the best country pickers going 'round.
Enjoy the video!

Hi, 👋 Welcome to The Guitaring Show. Thanks for tuning in!
Today we take a quick look at three simple ways to layer your guitar tracks. Super handy when recording guitar parts, trying to find space in a mix or even working around what your band mates are playing. This is by no means an exhaustive list of options, but it's a solid start!

HX Stomp Unboxing | First Impressions | plus Worst Gigs Revealed!
In this weeks episode we unbox the HX Stomp and sample a few of the amplifiers.
We spent quite a bit of time scrolling through amp models and seeing what inspired us. Very little tweaking was done, just a few level changes and some adjustment of effects. Other than that, everything you hear is as it sounded straight out of the box.
We also swap our 'worst gig ever' stories.
Enjoy the episode.

When I was a teenager I had only one pedal...for years. A Boss DS-1 and a Gorilla amp. Yes it was called a Gorilla?!? It was rubbish.
So when my son left his pedals lying all around the house I decided to take them and see if he noticed. That was four weeks ago. He still hasn’t said anything.
This is the episode that followed the pedal-napping!

Lovell Music Lab | Tim Lovell Interview | Melbourne Guitar Show 2019
This is our final instalmentand pedal of our time at the Melbourne Guitar Show earlier this year. In today's episode, we chat to the man behind Lovell Music Lab, Tim Lovell. Having just landed in the country weeks prior to this event, it's no surprise that we hadn't heard of the Lovell brand. But Tim is back in Melbourne after establishing his business in Columbia and it appears he's been very busy!
We were impressed by the practical solutions built into his amp and pedal designs. Tim has really thought things through without over complicating the products.

Vander Custom Guitars | Melbourne Guitar Show | Custom Guitar Builder
Back in August we headed to the Melbourne Guitar Show to meet some friends and find some new ones! It's been a while coming but we finally dug up all the footage from that weekend and this video is the first installment of three.
In today's episode, I interview David from Vander Custom Guitars. David's easy going nature is reflected in his no-nonsense builds. For a builder relatively new to the game his guitars were certainly attracting a lot of attention, and for good reason.
Our good mate and friend of the show, Dan was so impressed by a Vander Offset Tele that he bought it. I didn't even know people actually bought guitars at guitar shows, but there you go :)

BOSS SY-1 First Look | Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Awareness Day | TGS Picks Arrive #bossSY1
OK. So I may have jumped the gun creating this episode's thumbnail. Perhaps not our Top 6 Sounds but definitely Zach's current favourite sounds. Mind you, this was only the third time he had played the SY-1. It was literally fresh out of the box! We will most likely revisit this pedal once we've spent a little more time using it!
Did you know that October 22 is Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Awareness Day? #PMSAwarenessDay
Phelan-McDermid Syndrome is a rare genetic condition caused by a deletion or structural change of the terminal end of chromosome 22 in the 22q13 region. It can also be caused by a mutation of the SHANK3 gene. PMS is sometimes called 22q13 Deletion Syndrome. It’s estimated that 1 percent of all people with autism have Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. The symptoms of PMS vary and can cause a wide range of medical, intellectual, and behavioural challenges. The most common characteristics are intellectual disability, delayed or absent speech, low muscle tone, motor delays, and epilepsy.
There is no cure or treatment specifically for PMS. For more information about PMS, go to www.pmsf.org or contact the PMS Foundation at info@pmsf.org. In Australia, you can visit www.pmsfaustralia.org.au
