On this episode we discuss the 2008 Mark Wahlberg vehicle, Max Payne, based on the game with the same name developed by Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Studios. The game was a goofy Neo-noir corridor shooter, while the movie adaptation was a dark and strange crime thriller with a slight mystical flair. Its a drug fueled nightmare of a time, and I'm not talking about the film.

Ben and Jordan discuss the new Netflix teaser trailers for their Resident Evil original series. They also discuss Spartan 117, the Master Chief, finally getting his nut after 21 years. Is there too much Resident Evil content nowadays? I believe it can only be described as complete global saturation. Also special congratulations to Ashley and Tyler on their recent college graduation! Pogchamp

On this very special episode we have returning guest Kyle Redman to talk about all of the games we are currently playing. This episode was recored a couple of weeks ago, but honestly the content still applies today.

This week we watched the first live action Pokémon movie, Detective Pikachu (2019) starring Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith, and Kathryn Newton. Pokémon is one of those special franchises that isn't afraid of experimenting with their property and usually getting positive results. Ready for some useless Pokémon facts? You better be, because FMVpod is blasting off again!
This week's episode sees Ben and Jordan pitching video game movie ideas, attempting to conjure potential plagiarism lawsuits for stealing their ideas. We're deadly serious, if you take our ideas without cutting us a check first, we will see you in court buddy. Anyway, just a fun speculative time you should totally come join in on. Who's gonna make a FMVpod movie?
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is out now! And we watched it! And one of our mics decided not to work! What a time to be alive in the year of our lord 2022! So how was the second outing of Ben Schwartz as Sonic and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik? Was Idris Alba a sexy Knuckles as promised? Well, you'll just have to endure the terrible audio to find out. This microphone is *insert Jaleel White's voice* "NO GOOD".
...but Paramount Plus beat me over the fence. On this special episode of the FMV Sequence, we watched the first episode of the brand new Halo television series starring pornstache himself, Pablo Schreiber. We even have a special guest, streamer Otis "Mcgoatis" Greenhoward. Otis, Ben, and Jordan aren't sure why the Halo show made the choices that they did, but by god they will try their hardest to figure it out. Finish this fight? More like finish this episode. Helljumpers? More like Hellwatchers. Okay, I'm done. I need a weapon. I don't keep it loaded son, you'll have to find ammo as you go. Okay I am FOR REAL done now. Is that enough Halo: Combat Evolved references for the algorithm?
On this episode of the FMV Sequence, Jordan brought in a recent list posted online by IGN covering all of the in development video game based movies and television shows. Apparently he thought it would be a quick and fun topic to just take a peek at all of the gaming related content that would coming up in the near future. This discussion should only take about 25-30 minutes...
This week we watched the 2021 action comedy Free Guy, a video game adjacent film starring Ryan Reynolds. I don't think we've had a more decisive movie on the podcast before, and this conversation gets just loose as the plot of the film. With elements from Halo, Fortnite, and Marvel all wrapped up with a GTA bow, how could this movie go wrong?
I guess this is where I try to justify why this episode is about a Star Wars television show that has nothing to do with video games. Uh...Temuera Morrison has been voicing Boba Fett, Jango Fett, and the Clones in video games for 20 years. This show might be the closest thing we get to the canceled 1313 game that was supposed to be an original Boba Fett story. Yeah, that works. I mean, of course we're gonna talk about Star Wars every chance we get. We talk about the whole first season in detail, and hopefully you had enough time to experience the show for yourself.
On our first official up-to-date spoiler ridden episode, we watched the brand new Uncharted (2022) film adaptation starring Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, and Antonio Banderas. A globe trotting adventure that would make Dr. Jones wish he was one of the Goonies. I'm not kidding, this episode is full of spoilers. Unless I'm lying. In that case you will have to trust me that I am not lying. Unless I need you to trust me so I can double cross you. Then you have to trust that I am lying. But how can you trust anything I say if I am lying. BTW, where's your wallet?
I'm not going to sugar coat it, we've been busy and its been hard to get anything scheduled. So this is just a chill discussion episode about what we're playing and watching. And wouldn't you know it, some how we also managed to have technical difficulties. When it rains it pours. Anyways, how are you doing?
Ben and Tyler can't contain their pent up Star Wars nerd energy any longer. With the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga release date finally announced, the two take it upon themselves to delve deep into the trailer and speculate what is to come.
This week we're looking at one of the most anticipated and most controversial video game movies ever made. That's right, you guessed it, we watched Sonic the Hedgehog from 2020 starring Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz and James Marsden. The Sonic franchise has had enough on it's plate with hit and miss games over the decades, and now we finally have the long awaited feature film. Will this movie sit on top of the shelf with Sonic Mania, or will it end up like one of the PSAs from The Adventures of Sonic cartoon: "That's No Good"
This week Tyler leads us in a discussion about the promotional material for Far Cry 3 with a special guest: Tyler's bandmate Damon Gipson. The Far Cry Experience was a five part mini series starring Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Michael Mando as the iconic villain Vaas Montenegro. Something something insanity, something something.
We are the FMV Sequence and we're here to make you think about video games and movies and stuff! This week we take a look at Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), a comic series influenced by video games adapted into a live action romcom with a classic side scrolling brawler tie-in game. This film is directed by Edgar Wright and stars Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Music for the game by Anamanaguchi.
It's a new year, and the last couple of weeks a lot of content connected to gaming has released to compete for our precious limited time. Ben and Jordan discuss all the new things to watch that will make you redownload that old game and start a new save file. Beware spoilers for the following: The Witcher season 2, Matrix: Resurrections, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Cobra Kai season 4 and The Book of Boba Fett.
Please, please tell me this is the last school assignment. I can't handle it any more, the pressure of this semester is too much. Tyler and guest Watson Wantland discuss Netflix's anime adaptation to the Capcom monster slaying rpg, Dragon's Dogma. The final installment in the college project podcast saga.
Wait, so now not only are they splitting the school assignments into two different episodes, their also splitting into two separate topics? When is this semester going to end? I don't think they're even doing this promo thing right. Anyway, looks like Tyler's episode is about Dragon's Dogma.
Seeing as its that time of year for all of those winter holiday events in our favorite games, we decided to celebrate a year of gaming and movies the only way true gamers can: with trivia!
