11-16-25 - The Wisdom to Say No
The readings for this week for the Twenty-third Sunday after Pentecost are Isaiah 65:17-25 and Isaiah 12, or Malachi 4:1-2a and Psalm 98, with 2 Thessalonians 3:6-13, and Luke 21:5-19.  This week we look at mirror cells and get some into the debate on if we should go through the process of making them.  It is a good reminder that the effects could be unexpected and thus we need to use wisdom and don't always assume that things will remain that way forever.  When we get caught up in thinking how great we are, this is a good opportunity for us to lose sight of what God is really trying to teach us.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. Remember to answer this week's question:Where has wisdom guided you? #FaithandSciPod  If you're wanting to hear other podcasts on these texts check out:  11-17-19 - How Faith is Important to Religion and Science11-13-22 - Protests (for) Change I look forward to all of your feedback,Tyler Bublitz Music used in the podcast:March On by Silent PartnerPorches and Universes by Puddle of Infinity Social Media:X: @FaithandSciPodFacebook Group: Faith and Science Podcast GroupFacebook Company Page: The Faith and Science PodcastLinkedIn: Faith and Science PodcastEmail: thefaithandsciencepodcast@gmail.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@FaithandSciPod References:The Green Blades Preaching Roundtable (Weekly) or Green Blades Rising Publications (Monthly) reach out to ecofaith@nemnsynod.org and say which you would like to sign up for! - https://nemnsynod.org/ecofaith-network/   https://www.ecofaithnetwork.org/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaHxbrx02hU&list=LL&index=3https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wDIe0XEmwIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wv9IAX75SKEhttps://www.npr.org/2025/02/10/1230610853/short-wave-mirror-cells-microbes-science-risk-earthhttps://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/08/31/mirror-life-scientists-push-for-ban/85866520007/https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.ads9158

11-9-25 - When the World Isn't Ready: Faith, Science, and Patience
The readings for this week for the Twenty-second Sunday after Pentecost are Haggai 2:1-2:9 and Psalm 145:1-5, 17-21 or Psalm 98, or Job 19:23-27a and Psalm 17:1-9, with 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5, 13-17, and Luke 20:27-38.  This week we look at how even in science we have at times where breakthroughs were overlooked or misunderstood.  Barbara McClintock is a perfect example of this and how she was 15-20 years ahead of her peers.  This also shows how we can't get stuck in how something works instead of being open to learning more.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. 11-2-25 - Blessed, Woes, and Breakthroughs: The Call to Keep Evolving
The readings for this week for the Twenty-First Sunday after Pentecost are Habakkuk 1:1-4; 2:1-4 and Psalm 119:137-144, or Isaiah 1:10-18 and Psalm 32:1-7, with 2 Thessalonians 1:1-4, 11-12 and Luke 19:1-10.  This can also be All Saints Sunday, and if you are following those texts they are: Daniel 7:1-3, 15-18 and Psalm 149, with Ephesians 1:11-23, and Luke 6:20-31.  This week we look into the breakthrough that has happened in antibiotics in Lariosidan.  This helps us see yet again that we need to keep innovating in science and in our faith to keep growing in our understanding of the world and in this case to help keep people healthy.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. 10-26-25 - Regulatory T Cells and the Humble Heart
The readings for this week for the Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost are Joel 2:23-32 and Psalm 65, or Sirach 35:12-17 or Jeremiah 14:7-10, 19-22 and Psalm 84:1-7, with 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18, and Luke 18:9-14.  This is also Reformation Sunday, and if you are following those texts they are: Jeremiah 31:31-34, Psalm 46, Romans 3:19-28, and John 8:31-36.  This week we look into T-cells and the discoveries that have happened there over the past 25 years or so.  With this, we see the discovery of how God builds backup systems into us, showing that God doesn't get prideful about God's own work.  If that is the case, we should be mindful of ourselves not getting full of ourselves and remember who created us to begin with.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. 10-19-25 - Wrestling with God: Persistent Prayer and Medical Justice
The readings for this week for the Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost are Jeremiah 31:27-34 and Psalm 119:97-104, or Genesis 32:22-31 and Psalm 121, with 2 Timothy 3:14-4:5, and Luke 18:1-8.  This week we talk about how seeing the places that need justice can sometimes be hidden.  When we discover these, it means that the path to justice might be long and hard but still is worth the effort and the prayer that comes along with it.  This is something that can easily be overlooked, but it is a superpower that we are able to tap into if we allow ourselves to do so.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. 10-12-25 - The One Who Returned: On Gratitude and Interconnection
The readings for this week for the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost are Jeremiah 29:1, 4-7 and Psalm 66:1-12, or 2 Kings 5:1-3, 7-15c and Psalm 111, with 2 Timothy 2:8-15, and Luke 17:11-19.  This week we talk about how we need to slow down and think about all the things that make our lives possible.  When we do this it allows us it allows us to give thanks for all the things that make our lives possible.  This also allows us to learn more about how God works in nature as things all work together to make things possible.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. 10-5-25 - Faith That Moves Trees (and Birds)
The readings for this week for the Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost are Lamentations 1:1-6 and Lamentations 3:19-26 or Psalm 137, or Habakkuk 1:1-4; 2:1-4 and Psalm 37:1-9, with 2 Timothy 1:1-14, and Luke 17:5-10.  This week we look to nature to inspire us to look at how to grow our faith.  When we look at birds and plants, they use natural cycles to know when it is time for them to prepare for the next phase.  Are we willing to do the same thing?  Part of Faith is Trusting God even when it might be hard or something that we do not want to do but it is something that God is wanting us to do.  It might be a good time for us to learn from nature and give it a try.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. The readings for this week for the Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost are Jeremiah 32:1-3a, 6-15 and Psalm 91:1-6, 14-16, or Amos 6:1a, 4-7 and Psalm 146, with 1 Timothy 6:6-19, and Luke 16:19-31.  This week we look into some major breakthroughs with artificial blood.  Even with these breakthroughs, we still have big discussions about making sure that we keep reinvesting in the community through research.  We have to look into ways where we work to benefit others other than just ourselves.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. 9-21-25 - Shrewd for Good or Greed
Hello Everyone, I hope you enjoy this week's podcast and I would enjoy hearing your thoughts about it.  The readings for this week for the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost are Jeremiah 8:18-9:1 and Psalm 79:1-9, or Amos 8:4-7 and Psalm 113, with 1 Timothy 2:1-7, and Luke 16:1-13.  This week we learn from Ernst Leitz II and see how it is important to care for those who are seen as poor in some way.  This often means that money and efficiency will not be as high but sometimes we are called to that.  As we look at the current environmental crisis, this is a question that we are still working on currently.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. The readings for Holy Cross Sunday are Numbers 21:4b-9, and Psalm 98:1-5, or Psalm 78:1-2, 34-38, with 1 Corinthians 1:18-24, and John 3:13-17 or for the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost are Jeremiah 4:11-12, 22-28 and Psalm 14, or Exodus 32:7-14 and Psalm 51:1-10, with 1 Timothy 1:12-17, and Luke 15:1-10.  This week we talk about the recent potential breakthrough of the Milli Spinner for blot clots.  It is taking some ideas that we have had in the past and building upon them instead of staying put and being satisfied with what we have discovered.  Instead we push forward and potentially have found a great breakthrough that could impact many people's lives.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. 8-31-25 - What Flowering Plants Teach Us About Pride
The readings for this week for the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost are Jeremiah 2:4-13 and Psalm 81:1, 10-16, or Sirach 10:12-18 or Proverbs 25:6-7 and Psalm 112, with Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16, and Luke 14:1, 7-14.  This week we look at flowering plants.  Have you ever considered that plants don't all flower at once?  Why don't plants flower all summer long?  How did plants get to a point of understanding when their "competition" was blooming so that they could make sure not to flower at the same time.  There is a humbleness that we can see in nature that needs some exploring that we get into this week.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. 8-24-25 - Holy Pauses
The readings for this week for the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost are Jeremiah 1:4-10 and Psalm 71:1-6, or Isaiah 58:9b-14 and Psalm 103:1-8, with Hebrews 12:18-29, and Luke 13:10-17.  This week we look at this history of Penicillin.  We see that there were multiple people who saw potential in it but yet were not able to pursue studying it.  The first major paper that goes through some of the benefits of Penicillin, didn't lead to a major breakthrough right away.  There was a period of rest to process what had been learned and then it appeared it was something to be pursued.  We as people need to be able to take our Sabbath in order to do the same.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. Remember to answer this week's question: Where do you take and when do you take your Sabbath? #FaithandSciPod If you're wanting to hear other podcasts on these texts check out:  8-25-19-THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! 8-17-25 - Sour Grapes: A Climate Wake-Up Call
The readings for this week for the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost are Isaiah 5:1-7 and Psalm 80:1-2, 8-19, or Jeremiah 23:23-29 and Psalm 82, with Hebrews 11:29-12:2, and Luke 12:49-56.  This week we look at our environment.  It can no longer be ignored.  We must address that we need to take care of the place that we live in before we lose it.  If we are truly following Christ, we must be willing to give up what we know as comfortable and move into a place that may seem challenging but is following closer to what God is wanting us to do.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. 8-10-25 - Prepared for Flight: When God's Gifts Meet the Moment
The readings for this week for the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost are Isaiah 1:1, 10-20 and Psalm 50:1-8, 22-23, or Genesis 15:1-6 and Psalm 33:12-22, with Hebrews 11:1-3, 8-16, and Luke 12:32-40.  This week we look at being prepared.  The Wright Brothers' didn't expect to be the people who would fly the first manned flight but through things throughout their lives and not be intimidated by the task at hand, they were able to be the first ones.  With our faith, we need to put ourselves into positions where the gifts that God has given us, can be used and seen in the world around us.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. Remember to answer this week's question: Where do you need to be persistent with your gifts? #FaithandSciPod If you're wanting to hear other podcasts on these texts check out:  8-11-19 - Are We (You) Prepared for God?8-7-22 - Faith Even in a Difficult Times I look forward to all of your feedback,Tyler Bublitz Music used in the podcast:March On by Silent PartnerPorches and Universes by Puddle of Infinity Social Media:X: @FaithandSciPodFacebook Group: Faith and Science Podcast GroupFacebook Company Page: The Faith and Science PodcastLinkedIn: Faith and Science PodcastEmail: thefaithandsciencepodcast@gmail.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@FaithandSciPod References:The Green Blades Preaching Roundtable (Weekly) or Green Blades Rising Publications (Monthly) reach out to ecofaith@nemnsynod.org and say which you would like to sign up for! - https://nemnsynod.org/ecofaith-network/    https://www.ecofaithnetwork.org/https://50-states-in-50-days.experience.stjude.org/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTYbvU-aSf4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYuAXjDn1CUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K499hKMabMM

8-3-25 - Co-Migration and Community
The readings for this week for the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost are Hosea 11:1-11 and Psalm 107:1-9, 43, or Ecclesiastes 1:2, 12-14; 2:18-23 and Psalm 49:1-12, with Colossians 3:1-11, and Luke 12:13-21.  This week we look at Co-Migration.  This has been observed in multiple species and is being noticed that it is happening more due to the fact of how our climate is changing.  This leads us into a discussion of making sure that we are working together and not becoming focused only on "me".  If we can focus on working together, the chances for us all growing are much higher.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful. Remember to answer this week's question: How are you going to give from your abundance instead of hoard? #FaithandSciPod If you're wanting to hear other podcasts on these texts check out:  8-4-19 - Let’s Think About What We Can Do7-31-22 - Blinded to ”Our Community” through Wealth! 7-27-25 - Finding your Song
The readings for this week for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost are Hosea 1:2-10 and Psalm 85, or Genesis 18:20-32 and Psalm 138, with Colossians 2:6-15, (16-19), and Luke 11:1-13.  This week we look at bird calls.  Just like people, there are many different ways in which birds communicate.  To do this, birds have to learn many different calls and songs to be able to connect with birds of the same species and other species as well.  This is all used so that they can communicate well with other birds.  When we are trying to connect with God, are we learning all the different calls that God is wanting us to?  Are we learning to communicate with God and others effectively?  Are we learning the vocabulary and the practice of different ways of communicating with God?  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.Remember to answer this week's question: How do you grow in your prayer life? #FaithandSciPod If you're wanting to hear other podcasts on these texts check out:  7-28-19 - Ask, Seek, and Knock7-24-22 - Expectations Kills Prayers and the Scientific Method I look forward to all of your feedback,Tyler Bublitz Music used in the podcast:March On by Silent PartnerPorches and Universes by Puddle of Infinity Social Media:X: @FaithandSciPodFacebook Group: Faith and Science Podcast GroupFacebook Company Page: The Faith and Science PodcastLinkedIn: Faith and Science PodcastEmail: thefaithandsciencepodcast@gmail.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@FaithandSciPod References:The Green Blades Preaching Roundtable (Weekly) or Green Blades Rising Publications (Monthly) reach out to ecofaith@nemnsynod.org and say which you would like to sign up for! - https://nemnsynod.org/ecofaith-network/    https://www.ecofaithnetwork.org/https://www.amazon.com/Lutheran-Bible-NRSV-Augsburg-Fortress-Publishing/dp/0806680601/ref=sr_1_3?crid=VTOYXHG1FTRC&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.LI4NhXz0oEZPdbqygG0zJt6UYWxrXH2TyFVgH-shLTbL6H3NL4p0kBI7IMMpqJ8lN2GG_HvZpN2cbSkrpoW6YpuL4iRwMAERT3ywWcgpP89uPyNar4Xw8Xd1fL27UmyDt-JyABMlBIMS3nGC-0jVyPnCB1oxfidY0ADy3BIhuzmQ_3yT81dHJg5KErg6IOXdPR_E0CdmwbJbSEiJyBQmZgkoCVFeV-odTZmS1ZbFkv8.tK_lm_S-0r4rm37kaniLKxpLg6iPf9i3CpYYZjjp9WY&dib_tag=se&keywords=lutheran+study+bible&qid=1753074389&sprefix=Lutheran+%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-3https://www.audubon.org/magazine/beginners-guide-common-bird-sounds-and-what-they-mean
