Each week we take the Revised Common Lectionary and try finding a science connection or tie in into these texts.
The readings for this week for the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost are Jeremiah 1:4-10 and Psalm 71:1-6, or Isaiah 58:9b-14 and Psalm 103:1-8, with Hebrews 12:18-29, and Luke 13:10-17. This week we look at this history of Penicillin. We see that there were multiple people who saw potential in it but yet were not able to pursue studying it. The first major paper that goes through some of the benefits of Penicillin, didn't lead to a major breakthrough right away. There was a period of rest to process what had been learned and then it appeared it was something to be pursued. We as people need to be able to take our Sabbath in order to do the same. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
Where do you take and when do you take your Sabbath? #FaithandSciPod
