Resistant starch, a type of fibre that resists digestion in the small intestine, is a valuable food source for gut bacteria in the large intestine. These bacteria ferment resistant starch, producing beneficial short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), particularly butyrate, which supports gut health and protects against diseases.
In this episode I explain why resistant starch is important to have in your diet, the foods that contain it and how you can use one simple food to feed your beneficial bacteria.

I don’t really focus on weight loss in my programs, as I’vefound that if you create the diet that is right for your Endometriosis, you will also start to lose weight if you need to. But I questioned my assumption about weight and Endo when I sat in my daughter’s appointment with a gynaecologist who suggested she put on weight to manage her oestrogen better.
So I decided to do the research and this is what I discovered.

Nutrition is a very powerful tool to manage your Endometriosis, but it is not a magic pill. To take control over your Endometriosis symptoms, there are other things you can do that help reduce your chronic inflammation and reduce the severity of your symptoms. Movement and physical activity is one of those tools, and in this episodes I share some of the research on this and give some tips on how you add more movement into your day.

Vitamin B9 (or folate, folic acid or folinic acid) is a key vitamin for pregnancy. It is recommended to reduce the risk of neural tube defects in your baby. It is also a key vitamin for the body to make new cells: blood cells and in particular healthy red blood cells, brain cells, skin, hair and nails.
In this episode I explain what the different types of vitamin B9 are, what needs to happen in your body for it to be able to use it and why I recommend you stop taking supplements with one form of B9.

Welcome to year 5 of the Endometriosis Nutritionist podcast! I’ve been publishing podcast episodes for 4 years now, and my little podcast has been listened to more than 130k times by people all over the world! I’m so happy that so many of you find the podcast helpful and I’m very excited about the fifth year.
Let’s kick year 5 off with an episode about fertility and pregnancy. So, why does it take 2 to do the fertility tango?
I’m not an expert on male fertility and I’m not going into what types of fertility issues your male partner (or the person providing the sperm) may have and what to do about it.
But if you have Endometriosis and are experiencing difficulty falling pregnant or are having early pregnancy losses, it is important to consider that it truly takes 2 to do the fertility tango.
