015: Strong women who inspire us with Eliora Dogbey - Boss Lady Jr
This International Women's Day I am sharing a special episode that I recorded with my 8 year old daughter Eliora Dogbey aka ELYD aka Boss Lady Jr (her pick). We had a really beautiful unscripted conversation on who inspires her, she also got to ask me a few  questions as well. The Government of Canada's theme for International Women's Day 2024 is "Invest in women: Accelerate progress" and I can't think of a more important generation to invest than the young girls who are coming up. We talked about strong women who inspire us including Michelle Obama, her aunties, her family and she surprised me with her thoughts on my decision to scale back on commitments to focus on family. My takeaway is that our daughters are watching and are taking in all that we do AND representation matters! Will have to bring her on again because this convo was fire! Enjoy!

Rest is Resistance by Tricia Hersey was a book I really enjoyed especially at a pivotal time when I was seeking REST and unsubscribing from hustle culture. Similar to this is the Afrominimalist. While I dont provide a full synopsis, you'll get enough to want to add them on your shopping cart. Diversify your library with these amazing books!
