Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina-ROBERT BRICKEY became Mr. Basketball of North Carolina and went on to Duke University, playing for Coach K’s early teams that went on to three Final Fours. He was the captain of the Duke basketball team, that played in the 1990 NCAA Championship game. His after life from playing, Brickey went on to coach at three HBCU basketball programs. Now a financial builder, he has moved mountains and has continued to be one of Duke’s all-time Unsung Heroes.

In these times (60's) the Civil Rights Movement was in swing and this team went on to be the 1966 NCAA Champions, with five black players starting. This action displayed, transformed the future of college basketball and college athletics. The motion picture industry made a picture of this historic journey called- "Glory Road ". Nevil Shed, Bronx born of the Big Apple, was a recipient of an athletic scholarship, that brought him from the north to the south (NCA&T) He then transferred to Texas Western University, where his "Road To Glory" began. Playing against the powerhouse all-white-University of Kentucky, coached by the late legendary- Adolph Rupp in the NCAA Championship game. In these times (60's) the Civil Rights Movement was in swing and Rupp was known to not favor African-Americans(putting it lightly) This team went on to be the 1966 NCAA Champions, with five black players starting, and transforming the future of college athletics. A motion picture was made of this historic ride and event called "Glory Road ". This will be a two-part episode.
Martin Alphonzo Wood, A high school PARADE and MCDONALD'S All-American of the best players in America in 1977. Played under the late iconic UNC coach-Dean Smith, was instrumental in the successes of the Tarheel basketball program. Played with UNC/ACC greats- Sam Perkins, Jimmy Black and James Worthy. Drafted number four overall in the 1981 NBA draft, he played for four NBA teams (Atlanta, Seattle, San Diego & Dallas) but his story is more vast and amazing through his trails and tribulation with alcoholism and the lifestyle of the NBA and his trials with his own personal challenges.
Vince Taylor was without a doubt, one of Duke's most gifted players in their history. Known as the "Prince", because of his daring looks and the admiration from females fans nationwide. He helped to continue to build the Duke basketball brand, where Duke was number one in the country (twice) and he lead the ACC in scoring, as the scoring champion in his senior year under Coach K. He was the sole reason of Duke's ACC Championship game theatrics against Maryland and was known for his speed, I.Q and love of the game and Duke. The Prince will be forever known for his abilities and dedication to the Brotherhood of Duke Basketball.
