Hey friends, welcome back to The Apology Accepted Podcast, the space where we dive into real conversations about healing, growth, and creating the life we deserve. I am your host LaTesha Monique, and I am so grateful to have you tune in to this episode! Whether you're tuning in for the first time or you're a returning listener, I’m so glad you’re here, this space is for you, Friend.
You Are Not a Burden. I want to talk about something that a lot of us carry quietly this belief that we’re “too much,” that our feelings are inconvenient, or that our needs make us a burden to others.
If you’ve ever apologized for crying… for needing help… for taking up space… this episode is for you.
Because I want you to know something deep in your spirit, you are not a burden. You are human, and your needs are valid.
So today, we’re rewriting that shame script, the one that’s been telling you that you’re too emotional, too sensitive, too needy. Let’s talk about where that message comes from, how it shows up in our lives, and how we can begin to change it. For anyone who’s ever felt like “too much,” this is your reminder.

In this episode of The Apology Accepted Podcast, I’m talking about something so many of us experience but rarely discuss: burnout from poor leadership at work. If you’ve ever felt drained, undervalued, or frustrated in your workplace, this episode is for you because you deserve peace, clarity, and the tools to thrive even in challenging environments.
Reflective Questions
1. Have you ever noticed when your job started affecting your peace outside of work? What were the first signs that something wasn’t right?”
2. How do you protect your energy in a work environment that feels draining or toxic? What boundaries have helped you?”
3. If you could give your younger self one piece of advice about handling difficult managers or workplace stress, what would it be?”
Action Steps
1. Journal Your Burnout Triggers:
· Write down the specific moments, tasks, or interactions that drain you the most at work.
· Next to each, note if it’s within your control or outside your control.
2. Set One Boundary This Week:
· Pick one thing you can say “no” to or one task you can delegate to protect your energy.
· Practice asserting this boundary and notice how it affects your stress levels.
3. Identify Your Support System:
· Make a list of people or resources that can support you professionally or emotionally (friends, mentors, colleagues, online communities).
· Reach out to one person this week for advice, encouragement, or accountability.
4. Reflect on Wins:
· At the end of the week, write down 3 moments where you successfully protected your energy or responded differently to poor leadership.
· Celebrate small victories they are proof of your growth and resilience.
5. Plan Your Next Step:
· Choose one long-term action for yourself this could be updating your resume, talking to HR, seeking mentorship, or creating a self-care routine.
· Commit to taking one small step this week toward that goal.

This one is personal. For years, I carried the pain of silence, the kind that hides behind a smile and whispers, “Just be strong.” But strength doesn’t mean staying quiet. It means surviving. It means healing. It means rising.
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I’m sharing a piece of my story, a poem called “She Rose Anyway.” It’s real. And it’s for every woman who’s ever been told she’s not enough, not worthy, or not believed.
This episode isn’t just about pain, it’s about power. It’s about what happens when you decide your story deserves to be heard.
Let’s break the silence together. 💜

Today’s episode is about faith, healing, and what it means to hold on when life feels too heavy. The theme we’re diving into is “Holding On When It’s Hard.” Now, I don’t know about you, but there have been seasons in my life where things just didn’t make sense. Times when the pain was louder than the answers, when I couldn’t see a way forward. And in those moments, faith became the rope I held onto sometimes barely, but enough to keep me going.

In this episode I want to dig deep into the truth that self-sabotage isn’t the same as self-protection. Many of us developed habits and patterns that once helped us survive tough situations, but over time, those same habits can quietly hold us back from growth, love, and opportunities. I want us to explore what it looks like to recognize these patterns, understand where they come from, and take steps to break free. Sometimes the patterns that once kept us safe are the same ones holding us back.
Tune in and let’s break free together!

In this episode, we’ll explore the inner child, the little girl inside of us who still remembers what it felt like to be overlooked, silenced, or told to “be strong.” Many women carry those old wounds into adulthood without realizing it. Today I want to talk about something deeply personal, your inner child. She’s that little version of you who still lives inside, the one who remembers what it felt like to want attention, comfort, or love. Sometimes, she didn’t get what she needed. And even now, as an adult, she still longs for you to notice her. I want to share a story because for me, this really clicked when I thought back to a moment in my childhood.

Whether you're tuning in for the first time or you're a returning listener, I’m so glad you’re here, this space is for you, Friend. I’m opening up about a hard truth, sometimes closure never comes. I share my personal story of waiting for an apology that never arrived, and how I learned to stop holding my healing hostage to someone else’s words. Together, we’ll explore what it means to create your own closure, release the need for answers you may never get, and step into healing on your own terms. If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in the silence of an apology that never came, this episode will remind you that peace is still possible.

I want us to lean into the truth that healing doesn’t always look like progress. Sometimes it looks like standing still, circling back, or simply holding on. In this episode, I share why being patient with ourselves is one of the most powerful parts of the healing journey. I am going to talk about what it means to honor your timeline, release unrealistic expectations, and give yourself grace when growth feels slow. Healing isn’t perfect—but it’s still happening.

Too often, we focus on what’s still undone instead of what we’ve already overcome. In this episode, we’re flipping the script. It’s time to pause and acknowledge the growth that’s happening—even if it doesn’t feel big or loud. Healing isn’t just about getting to the finish line—it’s about honoring the small, quiet victories along the way. Whether you’ve let go of something toxic, found your voice, or simply chosen yourself this week, that progress is worth celebrating. This episode is your reminder: you don’t need permission to be proud of how far you’ve come.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, this episode is all about using journaling as a tool to support your emotional and mental well-being. When life feels overwhelming or your thoughts are all over the place, journaling can help you slow down, reflect, and truly hear yourself. It’s not about perfect grammar or fancy notebooks—it’s about creating space to process emotions, recognize patterns, and care for your mental health one page at a time. Whether you're healing from something heavy or just trying to stay grounded, journaling can be a powerful part of your self-care routine.

In this episode, we’ll challenge those conventional ideas, reflect on our personal journeys, and explore what success looks like when it’s defined by purpose, peace, and personal growth—not pressure. Whether you’re building a business, raising a family, healing from trauma, or simply trying to rediscover yourself—you deserve to define success on your own terms.
