What do I take from my time in business? As you can imagine my career has had its fair share of ups, downs, surprises & disappointments, the great thing is that life in your own business is an ever-changing picture & you really do learn a lot about yourself & the life in general. I decided the last two podcasts of the year would be about the things we all need to work on to stay fully focused on our business journey. Part 1 is about the person & how we can prepare.
I highlight a few areas that I believe to be important ;
Believe in yourself
Invest in a good support network
Tell your story-find your voice
Don’t be afraid to fail-take action
Study, study & more study
Look after yourself & your mind
Let me know your thoughts & please continue to send your thoughts & comments on todays podcast or anything about your journey to find that blue ocean

This episode is about how to make friends with your competitors and win business. I tell a true story about how 10 years ago I met my friend John who is a competitor & since that time we have become good friends and work together on many successful joint ventures, we generate around £130,000 of revenue between us each year. As well as the JV's we help & support each other wherever we can. So don't be afraid to help your competition & look for opportunities that you can work with competitors and build successful partnerships.

Today we look at how we can achieve higher ticket sales. If we add more value to our offer we can command a higher price for our services or products, however, how do we get this message across & make our prospect aware that they need our services.
Well, we look at Neil Rackman’s book called Spin selling and how by following his process in asking questions we can build a successful sales script and achieve higher ticket sales.
Spin selling stands for the following questions:
S – Situation
P – Problem
I – Implication
N – Need-payoff
I list below some useful links about spin selling and would recommend picking up a copy of the book. Please message me if I can be of any help at all, as I mentioned in the podcast I have used Neil’s Spin selling process. Please subscribe to the podcast & get involved. Today we take a stroll through my businesses & my attempts of creating a blue for that business. The strange thing is I did not read Blue Ocean Strategy until 10 years ago but I’m guessing most business peoples basic instincts are to position their business away from their competitors.
