Jaane Jaan

Jaane Jaan

Welcome back!

In this episode of Suno Bollywood, I dive into Jaane Jaan, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma. Honestly? I’ve watched this one twice and I’m still impressed.

I gush over Jaideep’s quiet brilliance as a math-obsessed neighbour, Kareena’s best role in ages,, and Vijay Varma’s surprisingly great performance as the investigating cop.

From the gloomy vibe and sharp pacing to that haunting Jaane Jaan song remake—this one had it all. Smart writing, strong characters, beautiful cinematography, and not a single over-the-top Bollywood dance break.

If you’re into slow-burn mysteries with real characters and a solid emotional payoff, give this episode a listen (and then go hit play on the movie if you haven’t already)!

Jewel Thief

Welcome back!

In this episode of Suno Bollywood, I’m chatting about The Jewel Thief , a heist movie that could have been great, but kinda ended up being all sparkle and no substance.

It stars Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor and Nikita Dutta… but let’s just say the script didn’t do any of them justice.

I also share a funny little Budapest story and my thoughts on the songs, the sets, and why this movie felt like a missed opportunity. If you’re into Bollywood, crime flicks, or just love a good honest rant—this one’s for you!

Chithha (GUEST EP)

Chithha

Welcome back!

In this emotional and thought-provoking episode of Suno Bollywood, I’m joined by a special guest Sai, also known as Kollywood Kuruvi, to discuss the 2023 Tamil crime drama Chithha.

Chithha explores the tender bond between a caring uncle and his young niece, and how their lives unravel when she goes missing. We reflect on the film’s powerful message about safety, trust, and the uncomfortable realities of a society where predators often move freely. Without giving too much away, we also talk about the unsettling portrayal of the antagonist, the emotional weight of the storyline, and the film’s brilliant effective music. We talk about why Nimisha’s character stood out, and how Chithha critiques not just abuse, but also the well-meaning yet sometimes misguided responses to it.

Tune in to hear our full thoughts and reactions to one of the most powerful Tamil films in recent years.

CU Soon

Welcome back!

In this episode of Suno Bollywood, I dive into the innovative Malayalam thriller C U Soon, starring Fahadh Faasil, Roshan Mathew, and Darshana. This film is uniquely told entirely through computer screens, utilising online chats, video calls, emails, and surveillance footage to tell a suspenseful and emotionally layered story. Shot entirely on an iPhone during the pandemic, C U Soon pushes the boundaries of conventional filmmaking with its creative format and deeply relevant themes. I share my thoughts on how authentically the film captures our digital communication styles and how it immerses us into a world we all recognise—our online lives. While the storytelling method is engaging and the performances are top-notch, I also reflect on my mixed feelings about the film’s ending. Tune in for my full take on this unconventional thriller and find out why I think it’s still worth a watch. Don’t forget to listen to the trailer if you're new here!

The Royals

Welcome back!

In this episode of Suno Bollywood, I dive into Netflix's latest series The Royals. Set in a fictional royal universe filled with scandal, luxury, and ambition, this show attempts to blend palace intrigue with startup culture.

Join me as I unpack the show’s unique concept of a Royal B&B, where business meets royal blood — and why this idea doesn’t entirely hold up. I also share thoughts on Ishaan Khatter’s surprising performance, Bhumi Pednekar’s annoying presence (and wardrobe!), and whether the styling and visuals can make up for inconsistent writing and underdeveloped characters.

From confusing character arcs to fashion highs and dance sequence lows, I cover the glam, the glitches, and the moments that made me go huh?

Be Happy

Be Happy

Welcome back!

In this episode of Suno Bollywood, I share my honest thoughts on Be Happy, a new dance-centric film on Amazon Prime starring Abhishek Bachchan, Nora Fatehi, and Inayat Verma. Directed by Remo D’Souza, the film tries to mix emotional family drama with big dance moments—but falls flat. I rated it a 3/10, mostly for the impressive dance performances. While the story tries to tug at the heart, the plot feels clichéd and the music forgettable. If you're into dance shows, this might interest you, but overall, you’re not missing much. Tune in to hear why it didn’t quite land for me.

Loveyapa

Loveyapa

In this episode of Suno Bollywood, I dive into Loveyapa, a new Gen Z rom-com remake starring Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan. It’s a Hindi adaptation of the Tamil hit Love Today, centered on a couple who swap phones for a day unleashing chaos, secrets, and hilarious confrontations. While the concept is solid, the execution falls short, with awkward performances and a rushed ending. Some editing, styling, and humor work well, but it’s mostly a scene-for scene copy. I’d recommend watching the original instead—funnier, fresher, and more heartfelt. Tune in to hear why this remake just didn’t click for me!

Welcome back!

In this episode of Suno Bollywood, I break down Shahid Kapoor’s latest action-thriller Deva, now streaming on Netflix. Dabba CartelWelcome back! In this Suno Bollywood episode, I share my thoughts on Netflix’s new female-led series Dabba Cartel. It’s a gripping, stylish drama about five women whose dabba delivery business turns into a secret drug empire. Nadaaniyan

In the debut episode of Suno Bollywood, I dive into my honest reaction to the Hindi film Nadaniyaan, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor. Despite high hopes—especially for Ibrahim’s big Bollywood launch—the film left me pretty disappointed. From cringey writing and unrealistic plot points to awkward dubbing, it was tough to enjoy. That said, Khushi’s fashion really stood out (except one hilarious outfit), and the creative doodle edits and credit scene were lovely touches. I also loved the surprise appearances by familiar 2000s stars. It wasn’t all bad—but yeah, definitely not the debut I was hoping for.
