BAHR means metre in poetry. It is the most essential part of any form of poetry. Technically, Bahr is calculated in Urdu Poetry by counting the syllables in each sher or couplet. But, can metre and musicality be constricted to mathematics? I've taught Bahr and I still believe that all good poetry reflects Bahr, but, cannot be ruled out if the math doesn't fit. Ek kahaani hum sab jis qaid-zada zindagi ko basar kar rahe hain, uspar. Be safe, be inside.

Hum sabki zindagi mein ek rihaai hoti hai. Magar kya hoga jo humaari rihaai hi humaari zindagi ban jaaye? Sukhan Zinda Rahe.

What is poetry? And what is determination? Do they ever cross ways and then part like star crossed lovers?

Artists are courageous beings. They exhibit all their flaws, creating art out of them only to give to the world one thing that the world lacks: perspective. In that process, they do not fear succumbing to the act of creation, destruction or nudity because they do not care about the stakes involved; all they care about is the TRUTH. They make poetry immortal.

We dedicate this episode to thinking why the beauty of hands is never given its due. Eyes are always a poet's muse yet when one bends to pray to the Lord, it is always one's hands that help in sending through dua. Why do we feel that our hands are never good enough? Sochein.

Love is not to touch, love is to be. Unabashed. Free. In the second episode of Sukhan we talk about the identity of contemporary love and the society. We talk about our love that once was, is and forever will be. Lost amidst a circus, we are all trying to make our love survive, live. Sukhan Zinda Rahe.
