Murder at the Hollywood Palladium: first Crips go to prison
Street TV podcast episode 16, Alex Alonso interviews Judson Bacot and Bobby "Big Bob the Hawk" Crear about their experience as first generation Westside Crips in Los Angeles. Although the Crips started on the Eastside by Raymond Washington, it was the Westside Crips making the news headlines in 1972 with the murder of Robert Ballou at the Hollywood Palladium. Blood Alley gang to 1st generation Hoover Park Family
In Episode 15 of the Street TV podcast, Alex Alonso interviews London "Zel" Carter (b. 1954 -) who was a member of Blood Alley, an old gang from Los Angeles active during the 1960s and perhaps late 1950s. London came into Blood alley in the late 1960s when they were fading out. Popeye was connected to the Arrellano-Felix cartel since 1990 and by 1992 held a high position in the organization. When Martin was released from prison he meets with Popeye and starts working for him as a hitman.
