Welcome to the sixth episode of SSUNDA: Conversations with a Specialist. In this episode, third-year representative Ryaan Rashid and former SSUNDA Chair Matthew Harland chat with Dr Clare Skinner. Dr Skinner is a Senior Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and current President of the Australiasian College for Emergency Medicine. Wearing many hats, Dr Skinner still contributes to Academic journals, blogs, and speaks around the world at education and leadership conferences. On top of all of these great achievements, Dr Skinner was recognized as one of NSW Top 50 public sector women in 2018.

Dr Musa is an Intensive care doctor and a part of the Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) team in Aden, Yemen. In Aden, Dr Musa worked in a dedicated COVID-19 treatment center, before taking on a new assignment at the MSF trauma center in the city. After his time in Yemen, he took on a new role working for MSF in Iraq.

In this episode, second-year MANDUS member Stephanie Morgan Schlicht interviews our guest Dermatology consultant Dr Matthew Palmer. Dr Palmer completed his medical training at the University of Queensland before undertaking his speciality training in Brisbane, the United Kingdom, and Melbourne. Dr Palmer holds a consultant position at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and also works in private practice.  His interests include general medical and surgical dermatology, including inflammatory skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis, acne, rosacea, skin cancer management, hair loss disorders, and paediatric dermatology. Professor Fulde is a founding fellow of the Australiasian College for Emergency Medicine and Australia’s longest serving Emergency Department director working at St Vincent’s Hospital for 35 years before retiring in 2018. Professor Fulde was named Senior Australian of the year in 2016 and in 2017 was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for his distinguished service to emergency medicine and to the community as an advocate for a range of public health issues.
