Your life is passing you by because you’d rather be a spectator vs an active participant!
Hey, Girlies! Welcome to a brand new episode of Siren Speaks! This episode is special because it's another visual episode! On today's episode, we discuss AD from Love is Blind and how she was oversexualized by her castmates. Being overly sexualized can be dehumanizing.
Join in on the discussion!

Success is scary. AF.
In today's episode, we discuss the scary reality of success. Success is one of those fears that seems counterintuitive.
I mean, isn't the goal to achieve our goals and make our dreams come true? So why would we feel fear about that?
Join Siren as she goes into depth about the reality of fear, the daunting feeling of being perceived, and how to overcomes our fears in a healthy way.

Hey everyone,
This is a little different from the typical structure of my podcast episodes but I hope it still resonates with yall. I will definitely come back with a more structured version of this topic but for now, let's consider this an intro on the subject.
Vulnerability can be really uncomfortable. I truly believe that being hyper individualistic is the antithesis to authentic community.

Therapy can be a great tool that we use to understand our emotions, but what happens when we misuse terms or weaponize therapy?
When misuse terms or use them as a tool for destruction, we can cause certain words to lose value. And that loss of value can really affect the victims whom the terms are meant for.
In today's episode, we explore the term "gaslighting".

Trigger Warning! This episode just may trigger you!
Today's episode is inspired by a family conversation (and yes I received permission before bringing it to my platform). We'll take a tour down our shadow side and also explore why the feeling of being uncomfortable is really not as negative as we sometimes make it out to be.
As I have been apart of @uncensoredwithufo's podcast, it was revealed that one of the last episodes that I was a part of really triggered some people which also led me to want to have this conversation on my own podcast!

In today's episode we discuss the importance of mental diet and how to build mental strength.
Our life ebbs and flows, so it's not a great indicator of our value. We have to be able to hold our identities in who we are and not bind ourselves to our circumstances.
Thoughts are tools.
Stop being a victim and become a victor over your thoughts.

The difference between joy and happiness lives in the mind and heart. Happiness is of the moment but Joy is of the soul. It's so easy to find happiness in the mundane or expect the people or things in your life to be the catalyst of your happiness. Joy, however, requires a bit more effort. Joy is making the conscious choice to seek the positive although life may not necessarily reflect the "happiest" of moments.
In this episode, Siren explores the nuances of happiness vs joy and why the two are not synonymous.

LOVE YA and I can't wait to join yall in the next episode!
Say what you want about Kanye but there's no denying his unshakable confidence and overall impact on the culture. A while back I decided to write blog post about Ye's confidence and the importance of having a God Dream. I decided to turn that post into a podcast episode and further the dialogue by breaking down Ye's self-belief. As controversial as Kanye may be, his faith is inspiring.
In this episode we explore Kanye's Laws of Konfidence and how we can apply it to ourselves.
As usual, please spread the news and don't forget to rate this podcast - especially if you are listening on Apple Music!

Apologies for the seemingly low energy in the beginning of this episode!
Welcome back to another episode! On this episode we discuss all the many roles that we're subscribed to and how that can burn us out! Burn out is NEVER fun and it's actually quite detrimental to both our physical and mental health! It's important for us to take time for ourselves to regroup and encourage ourselves as well. As cliche as it may sound, you truly cannot pour into others without FIRST pouring into yourself.
Learn to encourage yourself and to speak life over your world as our speech affects our life in ways we tend to take for granted.

WOW! WE DID IT JOE! WE MADE IT TO THE END OF THE YEAR IN ONE PIECE ---- PRAISE GOD!
This year has definitely been an interesting one! We lived through a pandemic, dealt with many unexpected deaths - RIP Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and all the families aboard that horrible plane crash. We went through a revolution right before our eyes as we witnessed a Black man being choked to his death. My beautiful country of Nigeria also went through (and we are still going through ) ending SARS/Police Brutality. WHEW, it's been a year full of high and lows but I think it's also important to add that this year reminded us to slow down. It reignited passion in some and for others it was a time full of inner reflection.
If you didn't "hustle and grind" this year, that is completely OK.
If you did discover a newfound work ethic and "grind" for yourself, that is completely OK.
If all you did was nothing, that is OK.
If all you were concerned with this year was trying to survive, that is absolutely positively A-OKAY.
I am so blessed and grateful to have made it to this point - health in tact, mental in tact, and just overall to end the year in pretty great spirits!
2020, you had your time but respectfully, get the hell out of here LOL.
Thank you AK (@itsmrcharming) for joining me on my season one finale of SITDOWN WITH SIREN! I truly appreciate your honesty and vulnerability on this episode! I know the timing was a little wonky but I thank you so much for your never ending patience and strength to put up with me and love me through thick and thin!
Thank you Siren family and just know that 2021 we're on to bigger and better! I truly cannot wait to see how this podcast flourishes!
