Jonathan (OSV Member)
Jonathan is an Expert by Experience Manager at Refugee Action, a Trustee at Caplor Horizons, and a One Strong Voice Representative at the Strategic Engagement Group (SEG). He brings a decade of community engagement experience from organizations such as Freedom from Torture, NHS England, and City of Sanctuary Manchester. Jonathan champions refugee empowerment through grassroots campaigning, frontline services, and the Expert by Experience Steering Group. His primary focus is on strengthening meaningful refugee participation.
Madeline (OSV Member)
Madeline is a mum, an excellent cook, and a Londoner. She is passionate about helping her local community, including refugees and women. Madeline joined OSV last year and is truly dedicated to supporting people in her local community, whether they are refugees, women, or anyone in need of assistance.
Maggy Moyo
Maggy Moyo is a nationally recognized campaigner, community organiser, and lived experience leader. She is the Campaigns Lead at These Walls Must Fall, under Right to Remain, where she leads grassroots efforts to challenge the UK’s hostile environment. Maggy is also the Founder of Unified Resilience CIC, a Manchester-based organization led by and for people with lived experience. Unified Resilience CIC offers trauma-informed support, leadership development, and shared spaces for healing and solidarity between migrant communities and their British allies.

This is an update on the podcast its been a busy April month this year we a bit behind on producing a content as usually its every two weeks, im back here sharing a bit my experiences on finding a job after years of waiting on the Home Office's decision-making and the importance of education and few things that matters in our communities
Let me share my journey and my lived experience as an asylum seeker in the UK trying to survive a broken system
it is not easy to live in any part of the world without rights or work permit. i will be covering some of the things that helps such as getting involved in the communirty by lunteering
Growing up in the Kurdistan province of Iran Kavan s earllest memories of sport are wrestriling alongside his father and friends . He later became passionate about gymanstics a sport that eventually led him to the world of Judo with the encouaragement of his gymnastics coach.
Kavan arrived as a refugee in the UK in November 2020 and started a new chapter in Glasgow. As a Refugee Athlete Scholarship holder he currently trains with the Scottish team in Edinburgh, and occasionally in Germany Having made remarkable progress in learning English. Kavan is a source of support for other refugee judokas and his resilience and dedication to sports is an inspiration to many

We reduce social isolation and hardship by building knowledge, skills and confidence including through events held at our meeting room and events terrace. Working alongside local residents, we empower people to take action.
