For SensuCast 046, we welcome a truly special, and deeply missed, guest: the legendary KERSO.
As we depart the one-year mark of his passing, we continue to remember him in our own special way. As a DJ, a mentor to many, and an influencer (before it was a thing), Kerso was a pillar of the scene, whose passion was matched only by the depth of his knowledge. His record collection was legendary, easily rivalling anyone's, ranging from the rarest and most sought after Northern Soul, through every varying style of House and Techno.
To honour his immense legacy, this posthumous mix is a personal tribute. We have woven together four of our favourite mixes of his into one continuous journey. This special arrangement showcases his impeccable taste. We begin with a mix of Moodymann/KDJ only joints that takes us into a fun and interesting look through the Circulation back catalogue. The second half is focused on two of his healthy obsessions. Jeff mills and underground Resistance.
A legend forever.
Rest in Power, Kerso.

SensuCast / 45 / Dan Piu
Dan Piu is a DJ/Producer that has commanded so much of our attention in recent years. And quite right, too.
He seems to have an unlimited supply of new material and rediscovered dusty dat tapes. His release of EP’s and Albums has been relentless. Track after track of high quality house music.
As a DJ you can hear a lifetime of digging experience with each set, often selecting music that would be hard to acquire had you not been active in “the scene” at the time it was made.
It was a huge treat to receive a mix from Dan. Here he presents an hour of rare sounding music from a dimension left of centre. I cant wait to dig in again and again and discover the labels and producers selected for this mix and go down the rabbit hole.
Big up Dan. Good music always!

SensuCast / 044 / Joe Davies
Joe Davies is on a bit of a hot streak at present. With b2b releases being snapped up by the ever dependable Smallville Records. But joe is no newcomer, his earlier work under the DJ Assam moniker shows the quality that has been there from day one. As a long time follower, I was delighted when Joe agreed to provide a mix for the series.
For our listening pleasure we have a brilliantly selected vinyl only mix of house music that will fill your speakers with hope and joy!
Big up Joe. Big up decent music. Keep the fire burning!
Sensucast / 043 / Seafoam
I have long been an admirer of Brian Cavender's music. Under the name Seafoam he has been producing some of the most excellent laid back and dream state, deep house music.
Since as far back as 1999 he found a home on labels such as Guidance, Straylight, and Lo-rise Recordings. A 13 year haitus led to Seafoam productions having a higher stock price than facebook on Discogs, making original copies something you handle with care and try not to scratch.
Rue De Plaisance stepped up in 2017 with a collected works compilation which marked the return of Seafoam. Since then we have been gifted with regular nuggets of house on a regular basis. If you head over to Brians bandcamp you will find even more music to discover.
I was delighted when Brian agreed to curate a mix. His request was to create a downtempo offering of all his own productions.
YES YES YES. We speak the same language.
Let your mind float, to the sound of Seafoam.
Enjoy!
SensuCast / 042 / DJ Popup
Denmark has been an absolute hotbed for high quality producers and DJ's of late. Since the first Regelbau release in 2014, there has been a constant stream of talent for us to discover.
It seems there is a true community supporting each other through collaboration, distribution, and mentoring.
DJ Popup has been making serious waves since the launch of their NES label. A fresh outlook on house music that is both forward thinking yet subtly nodding to the past and those that paved the way.
I was delighted when I received this mix. Good honest house music put together with care and attention.
A huge thanks to the artist for sharing.
Enjoy!
SensuCast / 041 / Lowree
Lowree is an exciting artist that has been on our radar for some time. We have been fortunate enough to invite Joe to play Sensu on two occasions, both times impressing us with a diverse taste and keen ear for dope tracks.
60 mins of toe tapping, head movers coming your way.
Enjoy!
SensuCast / 040 / XDB
Kosta Athanassiadis is an artist that should be truly celebrated. When the aliens land they will be given a folder marked 'XDB - The Sound Of The Underground' and they will understand.
No compromise
No shortcuts
Always quality
Get lost in the sound of XDB!

SensuCast / 039 / Tom Churchill
Tom has been a constant presence across the electronic music scene in Glasgow and beyond for as long as we can remember. As a label head for headspace recordings and emoticon, or production releases under Nuclear Family, we have been nothing but impressed the quality of output and breadth of his musical knowledge.
Tom has just released his most recent solo EP on 2sox. We highly recommend all 4 tracks.
We warmly welcome Tom for SensuCast no 039

For episode 038 we hold our hand out to Edinburgh and invite Renzo(etiket)to share two hours of excellent music. It's playful, interesting, and totally worth your time. We like this a lot!
SensuCast / 037 / Alison Marks
Every few years Alison Marks would release a track that would turn our heads and wake up our ears. Be it on Dessous, Dogmatik or Rebirth the quality was there for all to see. When the Limbic Resonance EP was released on Andy Greens' ever-impressive Verdant label along with previous SensuCast guest Nesa Azadikha, it just made total sense to complete the circle and reach out to Alison.
What we have is a mix just shy of 2 hours that we know you will love. Some of our absolute favorites in here with variations and textures primed for your listening pleasure.
We know you will enjoy this as much as we did!
SensuCast / 036 / Carlos Nilmmns
Glasgow-born, French resident Ross McMillan “has become synonymous with an eclectic but often deep and sensual sound influenced by the traditions of Chicago and Detroit. In the past, he’s released on some of the best-of-breed labels in the world...”.
Having had a sneak preview of his upcoming release on Ornaments, this statement still rings true more than ever. A beautifully deep and expertly crafted record.
We are delighted to present Carlos Nilmmns to you for no 36 in our podcast series.
Enjoy.
SensuCast / 035 / Veitch
When you spend your working nights in Sub Club you are also treated to a soundtrack of the best music available. Sub Club has long been a hotbed of talent for previous and current members of staff. Pala resident and chief organiser Veitch has spent his time at 22 Jamaica Street wisely, using the countless hours engrossed in sound to develop himself as an artist.
We are happy to present a fresh mix by one of Glasgow's most promising DJ's.
Iggie - The Big Freeze
In 2007, Sensu co-organised The Wee Chill at the Science Centre.
An impressive host of local talent joined Masters At Work, Harri, Domenic, and The Bays creating a day and night for the ages. This promo mix by Iggie, was on repeat during the run-up to the event and for many months after. It remains one of our favourites from over the years.
We are unsure if it was ever fully shared, so hope you enjoy it as we uncover some more gems from the archives.
SensuCast / 034 / Life Recorder
Following the release of his Time Moods EP in January, Kriss is riding the crest of a wave, and deservedly so. However, the Marseille-based DJ and Producer is no newcomer to the scene. For the last 15 years, he's been a constant presence on record shelves across the world. By our estimation, that will continue for at least 15 more.
Big thanks to Life Recorder, for taking the time to create this mix for us.
Hit play and enjoy!
Energetic, impressively varied and continuously interesting. This is what to expect when you hit play on this months SensuCast with Matisa. If you've found yourself asking what is the future of dance music? Then we present this as evidence there is much to look forward to.
Please enjoy. Up loud.
SensuCast / 033 / Matisa
We hop over to Switzerland for SensuCast no 32. With releases on Juicy Traxxx, Sneaky Music and Neo Violence to his name, Ground16 is gaining attention at a steady pace. He certainly got ours.
Enjoy!
SensuCast / 031 / Metropolitan Soul Museum
If there was a music category "always quality, never boring", MSM would be right at home there. With each release their sound develops and following increases. If you're not already aware, you probably should be.
Please enjoy 1 hour of eclectic goodness from Metropolitan Soul Museum.
SensuCast / 030 / Jakob Mäder
The aim of our podcast series is to showcase a broad spectrum of artists across varying genres, with a healthy mix of established artists to emerging talent we think are worthy of your attention.
Jakob Mäder is someone to look out for. Having listened to a stack of his of music yet to be released along with his various mixes available online, we are happy to share this promising talent with you.
Enjoy!
SensuCast / 029 / Flori
'This mix was recorded near the beginning of lockdown with warm up vibes in mind. As a DJ, I owe a deep debt of gratitude to black music and culture, without which our scene and recordings like this simply wouldn't exist. Black Lives Matter'.
Big up Flori. Enjoy.
